We homeschool mamas need to see each other as the whole, yet imperfect people we all really are. Otherwise we end up feeling like we have to live up to an unreasonable standard for what real life should look like. 😊

I prefer to follow along with other moms who keep it real rather that curating a perfect vision of Homeschool and life, which then I get stressed out, feeling like I can’t attain that level of perfection! We definitely slowed down after unit 1 too. We do @ 20-30 minutes per day, and it usually takes 2 sometimes 3 sessions per lesson. Mostly because my kiddo enjoys the games and activities so much that she doesn't want to move on. We have at times spent the whole 20 minutes on just one part of the lesson - especially if it involved her running around the room. "Uno más mama" 😂
That is awesome! We are approaching the lessons the same way, taking our time with them because the girls love all the activities and games also! I think it's great because it's just reinforcing the language without them even knowing that it's happening! lol

I’m not homeschooling yet, since I’m working full time so my son will be entering kindergarten in a week. Question for you-do you think this is something I can incorporate after my son is home from school and/or weekends?
Absolutely! My oldest went to a charter school for kindergarten and we implemented this toward the end of her 1st grade year (our first year homeschooling) and it has gone wonderfully! Definitely something you can do while he’s in school on nights/weekends! 🥰
Are you still using the extra workbook with your oldest? We are about the start HL Spanish 1 and I'm debating getting it for my workbook loving 7 year old twins. Looks like a great "extra" that they would like....but I'd love to hear your thoughts!
We are! My 7 year old loves it and wish she could do the workbook all the time 😂.

My children are grades 6 and grade 3, We have not done foreign Language together (my daughter took one year). But would this work for us to do together as a family? Or is it just super easy for my daughter? Even though we are beginning.
Hi there! My girls and I really enjoy doing this Spanish curriculum together. 3rd grade is the perfect age to use this program. Also, I have heard testimonials from other moms with kiddos in middle school, where their older learner enjoyed the program alongside their younger sibling too, but I can't personally attest to that since my girls are 5 and 7 years old. I think it depends heavily on your older learners learning style and personality, but overall I could see this program being a good fit for a middle schooler, if you also incorporate a writing component to beef it up for them! :)

With unit 2, don't fret about solidifying the concepts of each lesson before continuing. It's built with enough review that if you just go through the lessons (and everything else you're doing!!), even if you're feeding them the words to repeat for awhile during the activities (which you will be!!), they'll pick it up with exposure and time! Just keep enjoying it and doing what you're doing.
