But he has to watch the movie first or else he won't get what the weird sounds are throughout. I didn't get it and thought it just sounded cool until I watched the movie and now its a lot sadder than cool.
You're right about the improv. Kevin admitted that he contacted Saito to contribute some vocal harmonizing and this was the end result. It was actually the reason why the song resolved the way it did.
The Made in Abyss soundtrack is just one fantastical enigmatic spiral through the unknown, but my favorite track is definitely The Rumble of Scientific Triumph.
Imo "hanezeve caradhina" is the best ost from made in abyss. A pretty emotional series that it starting quite happy and soft but later kicks in real hard. I recommend listening to it at least in privat. Also pretty much every OST from attack on titan is a 10/10. But it probably won't have the emotional effect on you when you haven't watched the anime. Beast titan, Apple seed, Vogel im käfig, Shock, youseebiggirl etc. Btw your dark souls reactions/breakdowns are really nice to watch. I recommended the twin princes, pontiff sulyvahn and especially Aldrich devouerer of gods. The last one is just like soul of cinder a reference to Ds1 because your fighting the corpse of the original boss. But importantly do whatever you want and do Not let yourself push to stuff you don't care about because of the community. Have a nice day :)
For the love of everything that is holy, if you're going to listen to Made In Abyss OSTs, PLEASE listen to "Transcendance and Hanezeve" from the Made In Abyss Movie... This is the best OST from all of Made In Abyss. It's sort of long but from the 2nd half of the OST, the build-up, the vocals... and if you actually watched the movie and saw what was going on during when this was playing... goodness... I'm already getting depressed thinking about what had happened lmao. FYI, the Tomorrow OST is the ending song that plays during the credits of the anime.
@@wasneezy6229 YES SIRRR!!! I still find it crazy how good Made In Abyss is but generally speaking, a lot of people don't even know Made In Abyss exists or haven't given it its deserved time. You're right Prushka Sequence is also good. If I were to give some honourable mentions from the movie, Tozo Hanoline ft. Úyanga Bold, reBirth ft. Takeshi Saito and Post-op Meinya though there really isn't a bad OST in Made In Abyss
If you ever do decide to watch the series, I think you will be pleasantly surprised to see how accurate your impressions are to the context in which the piece is played. That said, I can't help wonder if the composer was very deliberately going for an 'empty' or 'hollow' sound with the brass given the setting of the anime..
Tomorrow plays at the end of the final episode of the series' first season, so that unresolvedness of the track makes sense because in that point the story is left unresolved and to be continued later. (The unpredictability is fitting too because the series is very mysterious and there's always something new behind the corner.) I recommend checking out the rest of the soundtrack. Kevin Penkin is a very talented composer and Made in Abyss OST is his finest work yet imo. It's truly a shame that it's not available on Spotify internationally.
The song kinda reflects the anime's progress. At the beginning it is a funny children's anime, but after about the middle of the season it becomes an emotional rollercoaster. The enviroment becomes a lot more harsh and suddenly it's not a children's anime, it's something much more (kinda like the game Spec Ops: The Line, it starts out your usual tube shooter, but later... boy, oh boy...). I highly recommend watching the anime, to truly understand the song. PS: if you like piano I HIGHLY suggest Pathways from the same OST.
You explained the feelings of the main character and the feeling of the whole anime just by listening to the song. That’s how I know it is a true masterpiece.
It's to hard to choose for me because in your list no ost from cowboy bebop , berserk , bleach , mobile suit gundam franchise , and plenty other anime... they are so many good ost in anime so hard to make a list
I feel like "Tomorrow" really showcases the overall emotions and meaning of the Made in Abyss series: awe, beauty, nostalgia, friendship, love, learning, going beyond/expanding a single life or place to show a greater place in history or time...I loved your analysis of this track, especially your thoughts of the song being unpredictable and unresolved. This is a great right because it follows the mood and stage in the story the song happens. :) When I first heard the vocal part it brought me to tears because of the bittersweet feeling. My personal favorite song from this series so far is "The Return of Made in Abyss", mostly because I feels it captures such a feeling of awe, mystery, pity, and hope.
GREAT! i'd never tought you'd react to Kevin Penkin's music! Now you have to watch Made in Abyss! and since you liked the vocals, i suggest you to listen to "Hanezeve Caradhina" and "Transcendance and Hanezeve" that is made on the base of the first i named. Keep up the good work :D

Un gusto ver que alguien sabe escuchar y no solo reaccionar, tratar de explicar algo tan complejo como una canción como esta, en anime es bestial y el trabajo de kevin penkin en el sountrack es perfecto, todo esta bien hecho.
Part of what makes the soundtrack so good is how much it pairs certain motifs with the show and also builds on those motifs throughout the runtime. It’s difficult to fully understand without having seen the show. Certain tracks are paired with certain scenes in my mind. To the Abyss, Discover the Abyss, Nanachi in the Light, Nanachi in the Dark, Jungle Run. There are SO many tracks on this OST that hit you HARD. One of the greatest pieces of music ever put to a visual medium.
That songs fits perfectly for the situation, an ascension from the abys. There are different layers in the song because abyss lore, the abyss have different layers. Sword of the stranger is a really great anime movie, i highly recommend checking ou its OST. It is around 10 min long, but worth every minute, a really beautiful song.
Since you are reacting to an anime OST, I'll have to recommend a few tracks to you: "YOUSEEBIGGIRL/T:T" "ətˈæk 0N tάɪtn <WMId>" "Before my Body is Dry" "Blumenkranz" "E.M.A" "立body機motion" "SymphonicSuite[AoT]Part2-2nd:ShingekiNoKyojin" the first 4 tracks contain lyrics, the last 3 don't. I think they are all equally amazing, so idk which one you should pick first. all composed by Hiroyuki Sawano ;D
I got goosebumps when I heard this song for the first time. I didn't listen to this song separately. I heard it when I watched the scene where the character Nanachi looked at her hideout for the last time then turned her back and decided to move on. At that moment, this soundtrack played and I suddenly had a strong emotion surging up that made me teared up a little. I don't know what it is but when I listen to this track I feel young again

this song catches the whole journey of made in abyss up until the one and only time it was used in the show, a real masterpiece. its so broad because this is the final song of season 1 where the message balloon travels from the start of the goblet of giants of the 4th layer, upwards to the pit of the great fault of the 3rd layer, up to the inverted forest of the 2nd layer, up to the edge of the abyss of the 1st layer, and finally reaching the city of orth where the journey began.

Tozo hanoline is an artwork in my opinion
I really recommend reactiong to any Attack on Titan OST, or anything done by Hiroyuki Sawano.
Great video! Love to see the gorgeous soundtrack for this show gaining exposure. I'd also recommend you check out the soundtrack for Ori and The Blind Forest (it's a game).
I’ve just purchased both soundtrack CD’s of Made in Abyss even though I don’t have a CD player yet, it’s just that good!😭👍
This is my favorite soundtrack of made in abyss!😍😍 I always want to cry when listening to it and remembering the visuals of the scene... It makes me feel empty and hollow afterwards
One of my favorite ost from the anime. I really can’t wait for season 3 to come out
But even so read the manga and watch the anime it’s really good I recommend
made in abyss masterpiece!!
Yea I literally listened to every albums of Made in abyss as well as the Movie ones. I really love Kevin Penkins man
In the second album (MiA2) the vocals are more present. And I think the brass position is “fixed” (the way you explain) in a couple themes.
Sword of the stranger is a really great anime movie, i highly recommend checking ou its OST. It is around 10 min long, but worth every minute, a really beautiful song.
Particularly the final battle track. That's the standout. I was thinking about 'Sword of the Stranger' and saw your comment.
React to transcendence and hanazeve it’s just too good to miss out on.
One of the best songs on the entire OST, glad to see you react to it!
“Today I will be reacting and breaking down to...”
Since you are reacting to an anime OST, I'll have to recommend a few tracks to you:
"YOUSEEBIGGIRL/T:T"
"ətˈæk 0N tάɪtn <WMId>"
"Before my Body is Dry"
"Blumenkranz"
"E.M.A"
"立body機motion"
"SymphonicSuite[AoT]Part2-2nd:ShingekiNoKyojin"
the first 4 tracks contain lyrics, the last 3 don't. I think they are all equally amazing, so idk which one you should pick first.
all composed by Hiroyuki Sawano ;D
Sawano is the Goat
12:12 I think the vocal is only one person. Specifically Takeshi Saito, the person who does vocal on Hanazeve Caradhina (track from Made In Abyss)
Sounds like something from the beggining of ori and the will of the wisps
I got goosebumps when I heard this song for the first time. I didn't listen to this song separately. I heard it when I watched the scene where the character Nanachi looked at her hideout for the last time then turned her back and decided to move on. At that moment, this soundtrack played and I suddenly had a strong emotion surging up that made me teared up a little. I don't know what it is but when I listen to this track I feel young again
This track always gives me goosebumps
wait until he hears hanezeve caradhina
Made in abyss really hits ya hard man
0:54 Why were you hesitating in reacting to anime music? There are some absolute masterpieces everywhere in the anime industry.
Made in Abyss, Attack on Titan and Terror in Resonance have my favorite OST of all time.
Pls react to any one of these land of the lustrous osts battle, sunspot, isolation, or unreachable😉 they're short but I really like the land of the lustrous soundtrack!
Sunspot would be great, it's so creepy
@@eSpyre same whenever I hear it I get kinda nervous 😂
There are so many gems within the Made in Abyss soundtrack... since you loved the vocals so much, I'd totally recommend for you to listen to the track called "Faith" in Vol. 2. Breathtaking.
Also if you are interested in listening to more music from anime, I would suggest "von" from the Terror in Resonance ost, one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever listened to.
You should also check out the song "the rumble of scientific triumph" from the Made in Abyss movie.
Personaly i REALLY love "Dark Reg", you should listen it
Tomorrow from made in abyss ost compossed by kevin penki
That ost gonna tell you all entire situation about made in abyss
Maybe you can try hanezeve carandina or underground river from same composser
i think you'll find really interesting the (full) opening of Land of the lustrous, it's very particular and REALLY good, you'll understand from the First 15 seconds
this song catches the whole journey of made in abyss up until the one and only time it was used in the show, a real masterpiece.
its so broad because this is the final song of season 1 where the message balloon travels from the start of the goblet of giants of the 4th layer, upwards to the pit of the great fault of the 3rd layer, up to the inverted forest of the 2nd layer, up to the edge of the abyss of the 1st layer, and finally reaching the city of orth where the journey began.
