Not gonna lie, I definitely love Miatas, nice to see what both the BP and b6 engines can do and how they respond to boost. My car actually has the 1.8 liter DOHC BP engine, but I kept it bone stock with no turbo or any kinda boost. It was made in 96, and is still running in 2023 with about half a million miles on it, and no major work aside from maintenance like changing the oil and rubber timing belts. I had to put a new clutch in it at one point, but that was after 300,000 miles. Those are very well built cars and engines, and I'm really glad you have a passion for showing just want those engines are truly capable of. Love everything you do bro.... Keep on keeping on, and God bless you and your cars.❤️❤️
Stiffer value springs means higher RPM. I wouldn't be too surprised to see that b6 engine hit 10,000 RPM and survive under full load and boost with the right upgrades. I personally would highly recommend against exceeding 300 - 350 horsepower though with a stock 1.6 L B6 engine as it wasn't meant to handle as much as the 1.8 L BP engines. I personally wouldn't push the BP that hard, but then again, I like cars to last half a million miles or more. These are both very well built engines with a lot of potential that many people overlook.
Would love to know your preference for mountain cruising between your red and green cars. Loving the creative microphones, glad that brake clean was pointed in the right direction!
I'd be happy with just some uploads of each in the mountains. Honestly the green one is probably more "fun" because you can be on throttle allot more being "under-powered", whereas the red one with 500hp+ would be WAY more physically & mentally demanding/tiring & in my opinion makes for more of a drag car set up.
I have a NB2 1.8 VVT 6spd and I've been questionning myself for a couple of years about what to choose to spice it up. Only the Miata Dad could convince me, and that'll be Rotrex so thx my dear friend :))))
Can you make a short talk on the ATI Superdamper vs the Fluidamper? I was turned away by the lack of ATI mounting on the TDR kit and had never heard of the Fluidamper before your previous vid, seems like a very viable solution. Also the whole TDR intercooler requiring you to cut the hell out of the car, but that one seems easier to custom fab an alternate solution in my opinion.
Weird space into = instalike. What kind of upload speeds you getting from Europa? I love that Mustang is the reference point for all things. Any day my NA rolls up on a 4.6 with fake hood vent/chromies/way-too-loud exhaust is a good day.
I had a set of ID 1000's laying around so I used those but they're overkill for the setup. They can handle around 450whp on E85 when combined with the right pump, probably 550+ on gas. 750's would be fine for E85 and 300whp but there's really no downside to just going to the ID1000, Injector Dynamics are great quality
This centrifugal supercharger performs so much better then a roots style, Minicooper M45 made only 0,5 bar and a Mercedes Kompressor only made 0,3 bar on my friends' cars
I really REALLY wanna do this to my 1.6L NA Mainly because it looks/sounds awesome and because its one of the few easy ways to make more power where i live
In my 99, around 3,500rpm acceleration it will hesitate in gear . Think it is the camshaft position sensor? Has new water pump, fuel pump, wires/plugs, egr…
On the street with street tires I've done a 3.77, at the strip with drag radials my fastest recorded was a 3.3, but I only recorded 2 tries, I think I might be able to get that into the 3.2-3.1 range 😃 I'll be logging more on the next time out!
Thanks dad, appreciate the effort and special effects are on point with this one. How's the wrap holding up? I'm keen to hear. Still undecided to wrap or cheap paint job..
I don't worry about it too much. If it's got okay compression and isn't burning excessive oil, I'll add boost! Every engine I've boosted so far has been between 150-180k miles
Man is that smooth bro , had to dbl take thought u was flat foot , but nope just quick foot lol ... much respect bro peace and love bro keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z famz
I know these make less torque than roots or turbo, but 14psi on stock rods is still safe in you opinion? Great video once again, those mics are hilarious 😂
I wondered if you could do me a favour, I have a kit car running the NB engine and wanted to know the width of the Rotrex and bracket from the engine to its furthest measurement. Just to see if it clears my chassis brackets. Thanks 🤘🏻

Hey Greg, I drive an 01 NB with stock suspension and am looking to get a set of SuperMiata Tecna coilovers for dailying to and from school. What do you think about these coilovers and would you recommend them? One thing I am concerned with is not being able to achieve the stance I’d like. I don’t need anything slammed but would like to eliminate most of the wheel gap while having a smooth riding experience.
Unfortunately I don't have any experience with them, but I know they've been on the market for a bit now, so you might want to scour some forums or Facebook groups to see what people think. Might try a set for myself in the future!
@@TheCarPassionChannel Thanks for the response, I’ve been scouring the web for a while now but I’ll continue my search for information on Tecnas. Been watching your videos for years. Keep up the great content!
why do you blip the throttle before taking off in first gear? always wondered why people do that because i've seen people drive like that in other videos
Are you running a short final drive? (Say 4.1 or 4.3)? Your 1st to 3rt shifts seem too quick You could gain quite some time by running a the factory nb1 (3.9) dif
This is very similar to my setup, although right now not running boost.. but '98miata + vvt + 6spd + 4.3-diff but i also modded the diff to have rx7 carrier and a os giken diff.. i can tell you that if you haven't tried the osgiken diff yet.. you reaaaally need to! :D .. awesom video.. thank you for sharing.. i have run eaton sc, turbo .. turbo AND eaton.. but never rotrex.. all have their pro's and cons.. really getting urge to try rotrex now!
and yeah.. if you try the giken.. don't do what i did at first and cheap out on the diff oil.. run the correct one.. or it will be weld-diff-central-skipping everywhere! >D
You could add nitrous to the Rotrex. Or, install a FFS kit with a 130mm** crank pulley and run nitrous for better than 300WHP. **Maybe bigger, tell Tom at FFS what you have done to your car and see what he recommends..
unless he plans to build the engine entirely, that's just gonna nuke the engine. if he wanted that much power he would've just gotten a more capable super charger from the get go
@@QuincyStick He has done 400+WHp engines, so I expect he understand the stock block limits. is using the bigger Rotrex, all he needs to do is change pulleys. But, that doesn't provide the low end that a TVS900. I expect his launch problem is the change in torque over RPM because he chose a centrifugal blower. The TVS eliminates that problem, and the coldside mount has a much smaller plenum which provides better throttle response.

I need to understand how to use Draggy while having MS on USB cable and datalogs.
The Dragy does not involve the ECU or datalogs, it collects GPS position data at 10Hz and send that info to the Dragy app on your phone via bluetooth.
