This gave a pretty honest perspective on the difficulty of climbing a building. Also how raw the french spider truly is. Guess that's old news. . . Good attempt from Ondra. Bra jobba 👏
Adam you look like you could be a legit marvel character here. Like gecko man or something. Holding that leg position must’ve been a challenge for the hips.
Kudos for using a rope and gaining all the permissions. So interesting that bare foot was better. Super tough, great climb. Why not climb a coconut tree also?

I am a beginner climber, but I spent more than 1 year of constant training. Almost no breaks, 3 times a week. I am proud of what I can do now; I feel way stronger than I have ever been. However, when I tried to climb a 24-meter 5.11 (~6c+) route (after 5 other outdoor 5.9-5.11 routs, to my excuse), I failed the first time at around 20 meters height. So, I took a good break and went for the second try. And failed to try to grab the top carabiners. I was looking at the finish, but my hands gave up 10cm before it. Every single move is easy, the moves are way-way behind my most challenging boulder moves. But combining them together to such a long distance, especially in wet "sleepy" weather conditions, and voilà: muscles stop working like a switcher is turned off. I cannot imagine how would I feel trying to climb a building this tall... Incredible.

I looked through the comments in the hope that someone else had pointed this out, because no one (including me) wants to criticise AO, but at 1:10 he’s using his Grigri incorrectly - the brake rope should be running over the other side of the device.
@@alexnjx thanks for the comment. I’ve double-checked, and I’m afraid he’s definitely using it wrong. You can clearly see that the brake rope is coming out of the device on the same side as the handle, which means that it will block the return of the handle back into the device when he releases the handle. It might not block it enough to prevent the device catching the rope, but it’s without question the wrong way to use it. The brake rope should be coming out on the other side of the device (the same side as the hand holding the brake rope), over the lip intended to prevent rope abrasion. I love AO, and it’s surprising that he uses the device so carelessly here, given that his attention to detail on other aspects of climbing technique is laser-focused. If someone were belaying me like that I’d be shouting down at them to correct it.
