The forest spirits always appealed more to me than ANOTHER elf faction.
I just wish tree spirits weren't so weak, relative to other wood elf units
Loved the video! Really awesome content. Too bad the FAQ cancelled some of the great ideas mentioned like the Bow of Loren combo with enchanted arrows (only 1 shot allowed with enchanted arrows) and the Ruby Ring of Ruin on the waystalker.
I love the idea of the lord on a stag. A wood elf with a 2+ AS, how awesome! Wished I could get the model somewhere decent priced.
Great video, one thing that would be nice at the end of the next video (or even a part3) would be to put together a few different takes on a 2000pt army list, go over why you made the choices you made etc.. would tie a nice bow on the faction guide. Too many channels exclude that.

Really enjoying all these guides, and would prefer the longer discussion that splits an army in two than condensing discussion of an army into one video. One thing I’d love to see would be a couple of lists (maybe one from each of you) at the end of a list review, just tying the whole thing together; it wouldn’t have to be the hardest lists imaginable, just something you would run. Could perhaps add that going forwards, or do a video that is just of list ideas for the armies you’ve already covered?
When are you planing to release part 2?
I´ve been interested in Wood Elves since that late 4th Ed book, I think it was.. but never got around to make anything.. But I bought the odd model.. Probably won´t build it now either, I have too much fun buring and chopping trees with my Orcs 6 Goblins.. But good vid1 :D
How do you guys see Tree Whack working with the Befuddlement of Mischiefs? I'm not sure Initiative modifiers count for the test and if they do would that not mean that things like charge bonuses also count meaning Tree Whack rarely ever works?
Spear of Twilight on Dragon Lord with Merciw's Locus. You would on 3s, while most other things wound you on 6s (barring monsters).

@@stonem0013 - Not necessarily. Not everyone has access to Dragon Slayer (poor Dwarfs!) and even then, it has to be on something that can catch a dragon.
What do yo guys think of the silly nerf to Bow of Loren? Is it really that overpowerd to have a very expensive Wood Elf lord Lord shoot 4 arrows with strength 4 and -2 ap?

I think BECAUSE Wood Elves lack the nasty durability options in their magic items having an expensive "Elder" Dragon isn't as problematic to play against. I'm not so concerned about a Ward save if AP -3 can punch straight through your Armor.
they have amazing durability options lol. -1 to enemy WS/I and -1 to hit in challenges from the spites alone are top tier
What happens if you take the bow of loren and swiftshiver shards?
You can’t use them in conjunction atm due to the enchanted arrows saying when using asrai longbows, so they only effect the regular bow

It's Phil here. Yes the Bow of Loren is an Asrai Longbow so you can take enchanted arrows, same with Asyendi's Bane. The interaction of the Bow of Loren with Swiftshiver Shards is very unclear though. Does it mean you get 2x your attacks, or your attacks value +1? I think this needs an FAQ, and would play it as the less favourable interpretation until then (so attacks +1).
@@philiphutchinson32 The way I read it is that the arrow gives the bow multishot (2) and then it can be fired as many times as you have attacks, so fired 4 times with multishot on each, as if it was done 1 by 1 kinda thing.
@@sebs2157 There's a lot of things in need of a faq! But it seems nice for a shooty lord to have Bow of Loren with swiftshiver and potion of strenght maybe? Bow of Asyendi's seems like made specifically to use with Hail of Doom Arrow, so you don't miss that one important shoot..

The sad thing about GW once again making certain items and units really situational. The Hail of Doom arrow being a template is annoying, I can still use it as I play against a lot of goblins, skaven and empire but isn't anywhere as auto buy as it was.
I've tried it and in only 1/3 games did I actually use it and the opponent did not have any infantry blobs where it was meaningful enough to try and shoot them with it, dont take it unless you want it
I think it is only cost-effective vs glass cannon tipe of infantery, i.e elite elves inf with low armor saves.
Did the lad with the beard write the intro riff?
It was one of my friends whos not a warhammer nerd but had been playing Boltgun so wed got talking and he wrote me that and the background music for the more recent 30k games!

I’m gutted that the most ‘Celtic’ army doesn’t have chariots. 🫤
How should chariots Work for an Army that Fights 99% of its Fights in deepwood and probably never (If Not forced to) in Open ground, where chariots shine?

The argument was something like 'there are also open meadows in Loren' haha
We can hope that one of the wood elves army of infamy will get charriots.
