A couple of people have asked me to make a long video of storm footage. Apparently it's relaxing??? It helps them sleep?????? Not quite sure how that works since it's the last thing that we can do!!! However, a little bit of research into very long videos showing the same sort of thing over a few hours has shown me that they can be quite popular????????? With this in mind I have cobbled together 2 1/2 hours of storm footage. It will take me a couple of days to upload but, if it's your cup of tea, then you're in for a treat 😀
In WW2, my father was a crewman on a B-29. He was not in combat. He said B-29s were also used for transport. The hum of the engines used to put him to sleep, so he got transferred.
This is the only channel that has ever shown such raw footage like this where there’s a beginning and an end and doesn’t leave you hanging and I just find it fascinating what goes on in the middle of the ocean where most of us would never know it if not for these fine people actually videoing it and putting it on here for us to watch and also a big thank you for not having agitating music to go with it!!! The natural sounds of the way the ship sounds as it’s tossing and turning and the waves and everything else all the natural sound effects are just perfect! Like we don’t need music, it’s perfect just the way it is!!

@@Bigwavemaster1 Thankyou…. I came to Australia from Italy when I was 4yrs old, sixty yrs ago and I’m sure that’s where my fear of the ocean began & is still with me today…. I love the beach but not where I’m surrounded by water!
Yes, that is indeed truly horrifying. On land we are warned about winter storms and we lie in bed worrying about the garden trees, collapsing walls and fences and we wake up to the damage that is caused. We rarely ever think of those who work on the oceans, riding out those same storms. I'm no cissy, but I couldn't do it and I reckon those that do are amongst the toughest people on the planet!
I gotta hand it to you guys: you are special people. Nerves and balls of steel. I am not entirely a landlubber, I am... was a surfer and a free diver, but all the action there was within a shout distance from shore
+Bigwavemaster1 I'm planning a container cargo ship cruise, any info would be greatly appreciated! Does this ship take on public passengers? Would love to be on the north seas.
That sounds really interesting. I thought of doing that myself a while ago. Where are you sailing to and from? I think the only advice I could give you would be to eat well and enjoy. I'm afraid we don't take passengers. I have been asked many times.
Big storm, & big seas.🤮 You guys just roll through it so nicely. It is nice to have the view from the bridge as it gives the long view of what the seas are doing. Most can’t appreciate the size of the swells but the degree of roll is impressive. In the middle of the storms they just seem endless. Great video! 👍👍 Stay safe , gents 😎.

Love this video, reminds me of sailing across the Atlantic on the QE2 as a kid, there was a huge storm (we were actually delayed by over a day), and I was transfixed by the ocean. Literally mountains of water coming at you, truly stupendous, when you see it you understand the sea really does not care one tiny little bit, it will crush you in a second if you don't respect it. This weather isn't good for Kayaking. You'll die within 15 minutes, or as long as you can stay above water which won't be long in a storm like this.

“Make it yourself next time”

the ocean is mass subjected to force. there is no "it'," no consciousness.
And you're a fucking neckbeard virgin but we didn't have to point out the obvious.
It will take me a couple of days to upload but, if it's your cup of tea, then you're in for a treat 😀
must be amazing though, the excitement
In WW2, my father was a crewman on a B-29. He was not in combat. He said B-29s were also used for transport. The hum of the engines used to put him to sleep, so he got transferred.
I got sea sick on a floating pier once, i'd be useless at sea....
Bluenose67 yep
what I normally do is picture Im on the boat then close my eyes...and within seconds Im asleep...its magical
Thank you very much

@@StormyLynn724 The oil & shipping industries are very secretive and are worried that I may show them in a bad light.

Brings back great memories. I used to work on the Canadian weather ships, 90 to 100 foot waves, back in 1980 on storm.... amazing stuff
It’s always good to hear from a fellow mariner who has experienced this sort of stuff. Too many comments from people who reckon they’ve been in worse weather on a ferry 😂😂
Bigwavemaster1 Ferries are small, don't see why they're not scared. And claim is some scary experience.
I fished the Bering in the 90s for three winters. Nice to relive the feeling of being on the bridge.... looking ahead for the *really* big ones rolling in your direction. Subbed!

I wonder if ship engineers ever considered making ships with shock absorbers
"when shit hits the fan" - not often times a phrase and its literal meaning are the same
There are expansions joints and sometimes stabilizer fins. But that doesn't smooth the ride much in those seas
They should make a simulator ride based off this.
Now that’s a good idea.
No thanks, I can shit my pants for free

Kevin Funk well the dutch navy does have a sinking simulator that recreates a ship sinking but theres a chanse such a thing already exsist
They should call it the Big Wave Master 1
Yes, that is indeed truly horrifying. On land we are warned about winter storms and we lie in bed worrying about the garden trees, collapsing walls and fences and we wake up to the damage that is caused. We rarely ever think of those who work on the oceans, riding out those same storms. I'm no cissy, but I couldn't do it and I reckon those that do are amongst the toughest people on the planet!
