- In today's 4th Bad Batch episode, we enter the planet of Pantora where Tech scrambles the wanted signal for their ship. Here, we meet Fennec Shand, the assassin from The Mandalorian season 1, and later 2, who teamed up with Boba Fett. We will be seeing more of her in The Book of Boba coming this December.
In tonight's episode we learned that Fennec Shand is hired by someone (I think Kamino or Boba/Kamino) to find Omega as she is going to facilitate in the third phase of Clone Troopers.
The episode had a nice reminiscent scene of Attack of the Clones where Anakin and Obi-Wan chased Zam Wessell through Coruscant.

Fennec working with Boba would actually be a nice little detail to explain why Boba saved her after she was shot. At first I thought he only saved her because she could lead him to Mando but if they have history that would make a lot more sense

The pacing of this show feels consistent with Dave Filoni's other animated shows -- the Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. He tends to slowly build the story and complexity so that all the elements come together later.
Yes that's what I thought as well. Sometimes I get impatient and just want to see MORE, but then I remember that it feels slow because I'm way too used to binge watching everything. Usually that allows you to see the story as a whole all at once, so the "fillers" don't feel so filler. But when it's a 20-ish minutes ep only once a week, these character development arcs feel dragged out. We just need to remember that they're part of the bigger picture
It's kinda sad because they seem to be building a relationship between Hunter and Omega that was similar to Kanan and Ezra's from rebels, which means Hunter may die in the final season.
Episode 2-4 definitely feel like rebel episodes more than what episode 1 was
I think it’s amazing because then you can rewatch it and appreciate the little clues that you missed

I like how this episode shows a city and we get a deep look into that city because usually all we really get to see in Star Wars is a base or a compound or a ship or a wasteland planet or a battlefield, we rarely get to see a city and see people living normal lives in Star Wars
Its also refreshing to see bad batch try to act as normal citizens. I always wondered how clones would adjust after the war

I love how protective all of the Bad Batch are of Omega in the show. That little shot of Wrecker carrying her in the tunnel was just so sweet and gave me big older brother vibes.
Bad Batch- Convenienty lands on random planet for repairs.
Fennec- My time has come
Fennec was hired by the Kaminoans. No way she wasn’t. My theory is that she’ll be a tertiary antagonist in the series, until she brings Omega back to Kamino. Then she may go rogue and start to help the Bad Batch. On Kamino, I think the Bad Batch will find a way to extract/de-intensify Crosshair’s chip and he’ll go back to their side.

That's a very good theory! And it would make sense because if Fennec was hired by the Kaminoans she would have a very easy way to get to Crosshair and do something with his inhibitor chip and considering they both have very similar skill sets she could probably take him on in a fair fight.

I feel like Bounty Hunters are alittle too powerful in the Star Wars universe. The Bad Batch are elite soldiers and are experts in hand to hand combat, especially Hunter and Wrecker.
Yeah. Kind of wish Fennec struggled more. These guys aren't normal clones, and heck Clones are better than the average soldier. These guys are enhanced and mutated versions with significant experience.

@@JohnFourtyTwo But if you really want to play this game, then the space traffic that you see throughout all the Star Wars movies and shows are actually realistic, in a sense. After having vacationed over to my parent's country of origin, India, a few times, the traffic in Star Wars are actually not too dissimilar to India's traffic in many instances, such as there being hardly any intersections whatsoever and when there are intersections, Indian motorists just go as they please and narrowly dodge each other all willy nilly, while constantly honking all the time to let others know that they're coming or to move or just for the hell of it! It's the same with traffic lights. India has stoplights, but people just use them as stop signs all the time while again just constantly honking for attention and to constantly communicate with and warn other motorists. As long as no one gets hit or run over, no one really cares, not even the police lmao. Also, no one really uses nor cares about seatbelts due to the thick density of traffic in most Indian roadways. The country has a BIL+ citizens so obviously traffic can be pretty dense over there. I still don't know how my relatives and their paid drivers do it, but they do it on the daily without ever skipping a beat. I'm always bewildered every time I visit over here. It's like bumper cars, but without all the bumping. Just constant dodging and weaving and honking every few seconds. As if everyone was a kid behind the wheel. Can be pretty fun at times. It's a madhouse, haha.
In the words of Obi-wan....patience.....each episode serves a purpose to set up the next. Loved seeing Fennec in this episode! Everyone just needs to relax.
Society these days thinks of things as filler when they aren't getting instant gratification. I like where this is going. Fennec wasn't just random. We'll see her again in this series

i think these episodes are good. its not side quests, its literally what these guys have to do to survive.
Then it will feel like a Mandalorian remake.
They land on a moon, fix their ship and then they leave. This would be fine if it wasn't the plot for two episodes in a row.

This episode may seem like some filler content for casual viewers, but it does bring Fennec into the show which was really cool to set up a new antagonist.
I'm definitely not a "casual viewer," and it was filler. Filler is inevitable. Fennec Shand isn't a very interesting character anyway.

I wonder what became of Senator Riyo Chuchi and Baron Papanoida on Pantora when the Republic transitioned into the Empire.
She was very against the Trade Federation and the Separatists during the Clone Wars, and very much disliked corruption and totalitarian rule after she saw what happened to her own people during the blockade crisis.
I can only speculate she might’ve become appalled and saddened to see the Republic destroyed and the rise of the Empire.

So if it is a connection to the Avatar movie (which released one year later) it would prob be the other way around.

With Wrecker being knocked out, I've had some training and know how she did it. In simplest terms she redirects his momentum to the wall while adding her strength in behind. A technique used against bigger opponents in real life martial arts.
I dont like this episode. And my biggest fear is, that in every episode Omega is going to get trouble and the Bad Batch has to rescue her...
Let's be honest, the whole season so far has been dull. It may build to something great but so far it's just 😴😴😴

@@titoelcolombiano 100% agreed it’s being overhyped due to it being new. Episode 3 and a couple moments from 1 and 2 stand out as exciting but otherwise it has been extremely average. Hopefully it builds up to something but so far it’s been very boring.

All of the clones are genetic copies of Jango. So either Omega is an exception, or she was cloned from some other female.

I still maintain my theory that Omega is the new Template for the Clones and that she's the Kaminoans 1st attempt at creating their own template rather than finding a suitable, already existing host. I also still think Omega has the same mutations purposely as the Bad Batch, making her the template for the new "Ultimate Clones" (my nickname for updated clones)

Wrecker is probably as strong as a trandoshian or Wookiee, so it was annoying. Fennec is no doubt skilled and might be able to take down wrecker but not in one blow

I LOVE your channel and I'm enjoying the live watch parties too.
A couple things to point out, if i'm not mistaken Boba mentioned that he found Fennec "left for dead" by Din Djarin on Tatooine and that they'd teamed up after he'd saved her. Second if that bonk on the head Wrecker took in EP03 possibly affected his chip, I definitely think that the writers had Fennec knock him our cold in their confrontation for that reason, to further the evidence of trauma or damage to the chip.

With the way events are unfolding and the roles the bad batch themselves are taking, this feels like this should have been the story for a second season. The 1st season could’ve been in the last few weeks/months of the clone wars showcasing more time with all 5 members and their dynamics with each other taking on dangerous missions for the republic as a fully fledged commando team with the aftermath episode being the season 1 finale.

Anyone else feel Fennec had a little too easy a time taking down Hunter and Wrecker? I mean they are two of the best Clones in the GAR and she made them look like clowns.
I feel like if Boba is the one after Omega, he would want her for his own personal gain and also want to keep her away from Kamino due to a possible bond over them both being clones. Fennec seemed to show some sort of sympathy or friendliness to Omega even after her cover was blown.

I thought the premiere and episode 3 were pretty great. I loved episode 2 and 4 too though because of the callbacks to other characters.
I liked the little clone toy omega wanted. It shows that the clones were considered heroes across the galaxy during the time of the war
Love Fennec’s new theme tune and absolutely loved the world building! Really enjoy seeing planets we haven’t seen but have heard so much about - and finally my boy Echo is finally getting more to do! Personally I thought it was a great episode for sure

Dont know if you remember but the pantora people first made an appearance really early in clone wars, in the episode "trespass". I might be extremely wrong but didnt that episode air before avatar came out? I want to see Rex rolling with a dozen or so clones that managed to remove their chip and have gone rogue. Like a dirty dozen style squad just flying around in a beat up clone gunship booling across space. They're only job is kidnapping other clones from various planets and removing their chip.

I think it was pretty interesting to see that there are planets out there who are genuinely happy in the Empire's rule. Sure they may just be celebrating the end of the war, but they were also directly chanting on a squad of clones just patrolling by.
episode purpose is introduction and to showcase fennac shand's resilience. wrecker just had no idea somebody with skill was coming at him. i do hope your theory on fennac in contact with boba is occuring, that would be awesome!
That would be fine if the show was about Fennec but its not, they shouldn't designate entire episodes to side characters.
I liked the episode, it did move the story along a little. It's a shame we seem to analyse the episodes separately. I'm trying to see it as one whole story where there are ups and downs, fast and slow paced parts. I will probably rewatch it all in one go at the end to get the overall feel of the entire story. But I loved it when Echo got mistaken for a droid 🙂 very amusing.

Commando armor is INSANELY tough. Omega squad was in a building when it was hit by a missile strike and obliterated. They all walked away, except Fi who had serious concussive injuries and resulting brain damage. Like, Gregor. This particular version of Katarn armor can even stop Verpine shatter gun rounds (like regular bullets). It isn't beskar, but it is really, really good. It protects against very extreme heat as well, as Darman was able to go into a burning barn and walk through flames in even the earlier versions of Katarn armor without even worrying about it. This is how Gregor survived his ship being blown up in the first place, and his armor was still totally intact and able to survive a MOAB level explosion. Katarn armor is BEAST, and so are the Commandos who wear it.

Hey theory, my comment will be a little different. Regarding the relationship between Omega and Hunter, it has a deeper meaning for me as a teenager who has always struggled with the father-daughter relationship (me and my father ...we don't get along very well...and growing up, I've always felt the lack of a real father figure. So seeing what Filoni is doing with Hunter and Omega really warms my heart. So I know that many people can find some slow moments in the story a little bit boring, but from my point of view it has really made me see something I've always missed in my life. So, thank you Dave.

I feel as if Wreckers Head injury is how Omega Healing Powers will manifest. Like she will HAVE to save him and BOOM we learn her secret. It was also awesome to see Fennec in animated action. I am really digging the style of Bad Batch. Let's all just sit back and appreciate NEW Star Wars content. It is really fun!

There are alot of episodes so like half of them are gonna be filler. Next episode might be a special one then it's back to another filler, there won't be much to cover in this series till we get to the end probally
