    I am in the market for a new SUV and I have test driven several 2020 suvs (i.e. Palisade, Telluride, Pilot, Highlander, Explorer) and this car drove better than everything with the exception of the explorer (which has a ton of reliability issues). I can't stand, however, the gear shifter (it's a head scratcher) but I am still considering this vehicle because aside from the explorer it's most like a truck.

    I like it a lot! The aesthetics crush the newly updated Highlander!

      It isn't a true off-roader but it's a great car and handles very nicely.

    Boo! The style is awesome! Its the best, if not better looking SUV since the Jeep Grand Cherokee. And, I wanna feel like I'm in a tank Safe and Secure. Who cares about radio? The only thing I agree with you on, is the shifter. This is probably THE BEST looking SUV I've seen.

    Interesting you don't like the styling on this vehicle, but you like the styling on the new Toyota Highlander (which I can't stand).

      I know. I don’t know why I don’t like it. Seriously, I don’t know why.

      @@Pickuptrucktalk . Nope, I don't either. :) This vehicle drives far better than any of the SUVs I've test driven (i.e. Palisade, Traverse, Blazer, Atlas, Pilot) with the exception of the 2020 Explorer. The Telluride also drives really well and is a fantastic vehicle, but i'm not sure if it lives up to the hype. I think what might be a turn off with the AT4 is it isn't a real off-road vehicle though it looks like one. That's what I don't like about it, but the SLT trim level I think is one of the most underrated vehicles on the market. Comparing apples to apples, it's far better than several vehicles in it's class but doesn't garner nearly as much attention.

      I totally agree. The bad points where pretty much petty and pathetic anyway, I mean it was like he was mad he couldn't find any so he just mad up these useless comments. Mine has a built in charger, heated and cooling steering...you just need the Denali Package. My phone automatically connects, charges in the holder and I never have used the plug in ports...maybe Terence still has a flip phone. Plus this was the AT4 and no mention of off road ride, it has 4 modes which he never mentioned...

    I feel like they made a big mistake basing it on a FWD chassis. Its lineage traces back to the turn of the century midsize Opel/Saab platform that became the Malibu in '04 and various other soulless driving appliances as time went on. As such, ground clearance and front end overhang make the AT4 trim level really confusing. I guess for the occasional mud, snow, and sand, it's a little extra peace of mind but at less than 7" to the running boards, and front end terrain contact at not quite 20 degrees, it doesn't offer much more performance than any decent sedan would. Dodge, Jeep, and Toyota all have much more capable offering in this size segment, albeit at a slightly higher price point. But for 45-55 grand as it is today, the price tries to claim serious entry level off-road capable SUV but the chassis is ultimately a slightly beefed up minivan. Granted, it would probably blow every other minivan away. The interior space handily beats FCA and Toyota's offerings, though, and that deserves credit. If I could get the Acadia body on Durango running gear, I would jump at it. The Durango looks big outside but feels less roomy than a Charger, somehow. If the Acadia were based on the GMT or Alpha platforms and could be gotten with the Sierra's engine options, that would make a splash. Of course, the bean counters that run GM probably (rightfully) figured it would cannibalize their truck based SUV sales.

    • @Pickuptrucktalk

      It does OK. Needs more ground clearance for my liking. The AWD system is pretty good.

    Why are people comparing this to a pick up truck? This is a family vehicle with 3rd row. If anyone has some legit comments regarding the actual vehicle let me know please. I’m thinking about purchasing one for the wife.

    I like the off-road look but may as well buy the real thing like a Jeep Grand Cherokee. How do you find the peanut butter colored seats for showing dirt and blue jean color transfering on to them?

    • @Pickuptrucktalk
      @Pickuptrucktalk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see a lot of dirt getting in this SUV to be honest. It may have off-road looks, but that's about it IMO.

      That twin clutch AWD system is extremely good. It should be a great gravel road/ski hill ride. Which is exactly what buyers will do with it.

    I have to say it's ugly but I wouldn't really list it in a review just because it's one of those things where some people will say it's the most beautiful car ever built, some will say it's the ugliest and then everything in between. The inside styling on GM products is really old and dated! This is my problem with a lot of auto makers though. I would love to see GM, Ford, Dodge, Nissan and most every other brand get aggressive and hire all new design teams! Do something different! Thin[k outside the box and design a truck that you can spot right away from the other side of the parking lot.
    One thing REALLY chaps my rear end!!! Is that they got rid of the shifter and the key start! Push Button Start????? I have a Tacoma 4x4. I like to jump in it and go off roading. It looks like a tough off road vehicle! Then......……...I get in and see this ……...little...….dainty......cutesy...…...sweet little push button to start my truck because turning a key is JUST SO HARD!!!!!!! From the outside it looks cool and ready for the mud but from the inside it has this dainty little push button like...…..I'm going to jump in my cutesy little truck and dash off to meet up with the boys and have a spot of tea!!!!!! CUTE, DAINTY, are NOT words that should EVER apply to a big tuff off road vehicle!!! WHERE IS THE SHIFTER! LOL Sweet mother ……….WHY?????? I'm not buying a truck with ANOTHER sweet, cute, dainty little button to shift gears to go along with my sweet, cute, dainty little push button to start it!!!! LOL I WANT MY KEY!!! I WANT MY SHIFTER!!! I drove a vehicle with a push button start and buttons for the gears. When I got out I felt like I should curtsey to the guy that walked past me! ha I hocked a big loogie and spit right away. It was fake but I felt so dainty I did it just to shake off some of that cutesy, dainty feeling! LOL

      I thought the 2020 Acadia year was actually very good in regards of transmission. I’ve done some research but if you know of anyone that owns this exact trim with trans issues lmk because I’m thinking about purchasing one for the wife.

    GMC was so cheap to NOT remove the third row cup holders and USB port with the trim with no third row? 🤣 That’s why I hate it lol. And that GMC logo that illuminates under the bumper is there so you know where to kick and open the hands-free liftgate. This vehicle is for the GM faithful that lease it at an significant price discount because it’s a GMC and that’s it.

      Pickup Truck Plus SUV Talk it’s just odd how they added the cargo management rails, because it has no third row, but kept features that are there for third row passengers to use. My ocd doesn’t like that.

    • @Pickuptrucktalk
      @Pickuptrucktalk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Elliott Manning I’d wager the costs of changing that out in the assembly process are staggering. Plus, if someone wants to add the third row, they could always do so.

      3rd row is still an option.
