Harold Brown what about Aerys hatred for tywin despite he did a lot good jobs, he wanted rheagar to wed someone with valyrian bloodline. The only reason why elia wed rheagar is because elia ancestors was one of a targaryen princess, this was the main reason why they wed at the Sept of baelor. Aerys would never allow a marriage between cersei and rheagar but if that marriage were to happened then Aerys need to die at duskendall a long time ago. But if this happend then we wouldn't have the series, we wouldn't have jon snow, no arya, no robert awesome rebellion, no downfall of the dynasty, no Dany's dragons.

Since Rhaegar had no sisters to marry they went for the closest one with a female, the Martells share a common Targaryen ancestor with the current family, I think it was the first Daenaerys Targaryen. Had Steffon (father of Robert) and Cassandra conceived a girl Baratheon, she will probably be the likely candidate since it would make her 1/4 Targaryen. (Steffon's mother is Princess Rhaella Targaryen. Which makes Aerys and Steffon as second cousins while Rhaegar and Robert as second)

Dorne is too weak to do anything on its own to the rest of Westeros. Dorne has less than 20,000. If Viserys had married Arianne, her dowry would be lemons and blood oranges instead of an army. I have reason to believe that the 10,000 sent to the Trident we're all greenboys considering how easily the loyalists lost
