I’m sorry for the late reply. To give you an idea of my day, I usually start at 6 AM as that is when some stores open and have a drop. CVS gets batches earlier as well. I always have Instacart and Uber online from 6 AM to 7 PM. I usually work five days straight then one day off. I don’t use the concept of a seven day week. 5 on 1off. I usually work until 7 PM. It depends if the batches are good, or if I have to stay out later to make my quota which is about $225-$275. I usually use about $10-$15 in battery charge. RE: guitar-I’ve been playing for 46 years… i supported only myself solely on music from age 32 until 53. Please keep in touch. Would love to hear your journey. Peace Daryl
Ok,,,so I just started doing instacart....I accidentally accepted a 62 item order for 19 dollars thinking it was 19 base pay plus tip....THe base pay on a 62 item pick was SIX DOLLARS AND 50 CENTS!!! Can they do that?? A 200 dollar food order and they get away with paying that? Does this mean the majority of our pay has to be tips?
Yes much of the total pay is from tips. That’s why you must stick to the rule of $1+ per item..this way you won’t need to look at base pay or tips because it’s built in to the rule…if the batch equals $1+ per item (ex: $20 for 20 items) then the tip is fair.I hope that helps. Daryl
@@DarylDelivers Yes,it's just that I'm curious how they can get away with a 6.50 base pay on these 50 item batches putting all of the onus on the customer to fairly pay the driver while instacart profits huge on these big orders.

Man, I would love to see that kind of money consistently every day. I’m in Orange County California in it’s Saturday and it’s not like I had many orders to choose from but I’ve kept it close to about $1.25 for item. Let’s see it’s been about five hours total. I’m not even at $80 yet if I can make close to what you’re making I’m good to go Maybe it’s just my area I’m not sure. Possibly starting lift on Monday. Amazon prime interview also on Monday but I’m not sure if I want to commit to that. They demand a lot of time from you.
If your electric I would suggest taking some longer delivery runs. ONLY if it is a short shop…you will be compensated with prop 22…btw, please sign that petition to fight congress to keep prop 22… we may lose it…
Be careful working other apps… I feel that dedication and being able to change with the game on two apps (one main and one secondary) works for me…other apps take so much time it doesn’t feel like an independent contractor life…
I haven’t seen any in quite some time. Probably a year or so…. With the exception of working midnight to seven in the morning. But I don’t pay attention to promos because it’s already built into the price of what I am going to get paid. It pretty much negates any thought process towards a promo, which is meant to give you FOMO .So I am still only concerned with one dollar or more per item. I hope that helps. Daryl.
