...............yes........that was the way of it....and i had my favorite place to go for help.......the joplin library.....i read every paper and article....every book published about stone artifacts.........many opinions..........i found them all lacking......................................................i will explain this in my next video
Nice very Nice bowl/washbasin Mr RLJ 😎 I have several but not that Big. I appreciate you and your work Mr RLJ. I been finding lots of what I call TN Mudd Stones Bird Effigies and colored on & imagines with n Stones, u kn. U have a good day too Mr RLJ. rural carroll county cedar grove TN rockhound.
It's a metate!! You can even see the circular use pattern they ground with in the stone. I so love your certainty about the stones you have examined and designated as tools. I feel the exact same way. When a stone fits in my hand exactly in the ergonomic position, and I can see the edge that was used to do the business I am certain I have a tool. It has only been a few months since I discovered a small petroglyph of a whale on my property here in New Mexico. Your channel has been the best in helping me understand what I find!! (and last week I found that "horse" stone. just unreal how many horses can fit on one stone!) But it has already been long enough that I have found out who I can talk to about them and who thinks I need the looney bin.
............Sierra.........you are in New Mexico......awesome...........i wish someone in NM would consider an incite that itches each time i watch a video intitled " oldest rock carving....etc.....in north america "..........this is in NM......and at one time it was at the edge of a large lake................very large image..................to me it looks like a huge fish......it's head has broken or fallen forward......there are carving of a spiral and also what looks like fish bone skeleton........i keep imagining this huge image .......with fires set before it...like a lighthouse....to signal to many fishing canoes on the lake that this is where to come with your catch to trade......and feast.....the spiral symbol to me is a friendly symbol.......the large fish bone skeleton image....seems to say " come here for the largest and best sowing needles on the lake ".....................................in other words...the whole area looks like a big billboard for the many folks that would have lived in harmony around that lake.......................................................smiles
Very awesome of the 'dozer guy to notice that huge metate was something special AND you had the native openness to see it too! The people who once lived on your hill must have valued nice things and art. Thank you for sharing it with us!
....................it makes me sad to think it was only happening here...........but i think not.....i see folks searching in creeks and rivers.......and as they reach down......i see to the side......the art they leave behind..........i wrote a poem about that once................................................................As you walk among the stones......In search for diamonds and gold.......And kick and throw....Those stones...with stories to be told.............As you judge...and frown......And walk away......With your head hanging down.......You chose to lose.....What you left behind...........look again
@@rljatfrogpondschool7283 Thanks for posting this poem again. Ever since I read it the first time, the lines "You choose to lose / walk on by /stop / look again" stuck in my mind. When I'm searching for artifacts and starting to get careless, that's my mantra. So I do stop turn this over, dig that out instead of walking on by. AND MY COLLECTION HAS GROWN EXPONENTIALLY 😁

I enjoy your videos tremendously. I’ve gotten really interested in tools since I found some about three years ago. The process of looking, finding, and analyzing them is very rewarding. How might I contact you directly? I have a couple tools I’d like your thoughts on.
love the bowl , its when you find a piece like that, no one can tell you its just a rock and the search for knowledge begins

I could sell this guy the Brooklyn Bridge.
I keep getting recommended these "it's an artifact because I say so" channels. 😂
That bowl was stunning, now that was an incredible find and very cool it kick started your collection too 😊 great video buddy

Love it.
Ray that bowl is amazing. Red granite,(alabaster)? The Egyptians prized alabaster.
The bowl! It's a fantastic find. Do you have any rocks that may have been used as spoons--for medicine?
I do
Found a bunch of which stones I find them almost daily
Effigy

Hello Bruce do you have a channel on TH-cam
Not about my artifacts. I have a video of my son playing with legos 13 years ago. Bcdawson1. I’m not real technical.
Mono and matata, may not have the correct spelling but isn't that what it is?
....................you mean...like from Lion King......?...............................smiles
Mano and metate

You do have a nice metate. But the "portable rock art" are absolutely NOT artifacts.
Could you please tell me why you feel this way?
