Yesss I agree it's very difficult when you first start as a female barber. I've had many male clients ask me if I even know what a fade is. 🙃 I love to prove them wrong. 😄
@ChrisBossio Thank you so much for finally covering this issue. The struggle is so real, that I'm strongly thinking about moving out of state to start over. Please don't stop covering this issue, it's a challenge that no one else is talking about. And as far these themed shops like Sport Clips and Great Clips, I refuse to work for them for the simple fact that you can't do your own thing, let alone shave. Better off on my own.
I’ve gotten that a few times where the wife tells me what the husband is getting for his haircut, unless the client is a kid or an adult that can’t speak English then it’s cringe when the lady speaks for them.
This is BRILLIANT! Finally, the women-folk. After 30+ years in this industry, I can say, if you learn your craft, they WILL come to your chair. The percentage of fellas who were/are apprehensive about coming to a female, black barber is small. I get fellas who sit in my chair and say, "do what you think looks good." Yeah baby, le'me use some of Bossio's suggestions, so I shine.🤔. No, really, I do that.😄😄😄
Bossio, when you talked about how you went to a predominantly black barber school and people would request for a black barber, I felt that. I’ve been cutting for six months and as an Asian kid, a lot of people don’t trust me and I love proving them wrong. I cut a few of my black friends and loved taking on that challenge and seeing their surprised reactions.
Of course everyone is going to fw with their own people first. As you should, but you can't make money just sticking to one group of people and hair textures
This makes me laugh lol i been barbering for 20 years and dont matter about anyones gender that makes you a good barber i have ment lots of good and and bad male and female barbers i feel like i have constantly prove myself as people always ask me why aren't I hairdresser I'm not hairdresser because I choose to be a Barber and I love my job I take pride in my work I'm proud of the haircuts I give my customers that are followed me for a 18 years I mean I must be doing something right these girls aren't giving barbers the best rap (sex sells 😂) no just be a good barber and give a good customer service 💈❤️ if I'm being honest interesting video though love seeing all your videos 👍👏 thanks for sticking up for us girl barbers xx
YESSIR! Ain't afraid of female barbers, especially if they're confident in their craft. My barber, going on over a year now, is a female and is one of the top notch barbers in the city.
It honestly makes me cringe too when a dude comes in and his girl does all the talking for him. Telling him what to get n shit. Definitely goes to show she only likes him with/for one look. Ik damn well if a dude was to tell his girl to get a specific hairstyle, she’d accuse him of trying to make her look like another female who she thinks he finds attractive
Personally, when I was barbering as a “male” I made less than I do now barbering as a “woman”. I used quotations because I’m transgender and I know how people are. 🤷🏽♀️😂 So yeah I make much more now than before tips are larger and clients are more accepting of my higher rates.
I hate when clients try to look in the mirror. I usually block them cause I need to do my job. Once the process is done I will use the mirror to check the work. But thats it. Then the client can look. But besides that ill in front the mirror 😂😂😂
If you're in front of the mirror might as well taking it off the wall, the mirror is for you (barber). You as barber should use the mirror to get the vision of other person as if you look directly to the customer you're getting a "3Dish" close render and thats not how the angle you perceive as a human a clients hair. Just tell the customer that the mirror is for you and that you can't cut is hair correctly if the angle is not right.
@@brunoteixeira1213 I do use the mirror. I just gotta do the cut first then I use it to make sure everything is fine. But I will definitely tell the customer that. Thanks 🙏
You also have that special breed of guy, who doesn’t care what his hair looks like. Just want to be around a female or touched on by a female. Heard it before, “she looks better than you”
who ever that girl said sex sells , that aint the reason im a barber , I love cutting mens hair over women , I think they do come to me because I am more gentler and I am very easy to talk to and I always do 100% on my cuts and I also take my time
@@palani9376 For sure , idk I don't really think that im being soft but I guess also I be scared to Hurt them all the time lol but that's just me as a person in general.
Brilliant again I beat you to that vid as well just cos I knew you was going and I like your comments and tend to agree that alot of the female barbers are maybe under pressure to get cuts done , but this applies to male barbers starting out on a salary too... again why self employed with your own customers is the best way.
Super inspirational to see females barbering all around the world! I'm a 24 year old female just finishing my hairstyling apprenticeship, and currently work in a barbershop with all young female barbers. Just talented artists doing their work, with none of the over sexualization you see with a lot of female Instagram barbers (no hate intended, you do you girl). 99% of our clients are super respectful but definitely get the occasional creep or rude guy who doesn't want a female to cut their hair. Not one of them has been unhappy after their service is done.
just gonna clear something up yes men are not allowed contact with women physical that is because it leads to things it all starts from a handshake also women are queens so a man doesnt deserve to shake a hand of a female it has nothing to do with misogyny its all respect to women in islam hope you guys could understand that
4:50 you got it wrong bro. in islamic law its not allowed for women to touch men. excluding wives, sisters cousins and other family. but the man was just shy so his wife only requested a male. nothing about style
Wahl Color Pros at Walmart are actually decent they cost like $25 and they come with a lever on the clippers, scissors, 2 half guards and 8 full guards, and 2 combs. 😉

Been a female barber for 12 years. I’ve dealt with it all. Working at the chains to now working for myself. Wouldn’t change a thing for my growth

What school did you go to?
This is a good one . I want to be a female barber so badly. I'm one test away from being a barber. I'm not really confident. Yet. I love channel doe.
You got it don’t worry, just be confident in what you do, and you’ll be good, all blessings❤️

Cool to see female perspective, I've been cut before by female barber and I can tell you that they really do good job! 💣💥
You bet!
I've only ever had one female barber cut my hair and from my experience with her cutting my hair I will probably stick woth male barbers.
“I do it better than a guy-sex sells...”
Bruh I just need a haircut

The truth about female barbers... 9/10 times they will push your hairline back 😹😹
or leave your hair .5 inch when i asked for .5 inch cut off ...
NOT ALL OF US💯
Make a video about your brand “TOMB45” and the meaning behind the name.
