- Under the direction of Christoph König, the program of the sixth concert of the season of the RTVE Symphony Orchestra continues with the presentation of the German pianist Olga Scheps, who performs the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 3 by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). Written in 1800 and premiered by the composer himself on piano three years later, the concerto is dedicated to Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia, a great music lover and combatant in the Napoleonic Wars. The concert is divided into three movements: Allegro con verve, Largo and Rondo, Allegro.

Sensationell gut. Hervorragendes Zusammenspiel, schönes Dirigat, kannte Christoph König nicht, das hat sich jetzt geändert. In der Tat tolle Bildregie, es gibt viel zu sehen und zu genießen (die Hämmer auf den Saiten). Einfach der Hammer.
Ich wünsche mir hier einfach mal eine Bach CD, egal was und vll. doch auch die Schubert Impromptus und alles von Chopin Eingespielte einfach nochmal, 10 years later oder so ähnlich. Bach aber unbedingt bitte! Das wär groß. Ach, und das 5. Klavierkonzert Beethoven, naja sie sind alle schön. Einfach alle einspielen. Am besten gleich mit denen hier.

Die Kadenz im 1.Satz…was für eine Dramaturgie - ein Schauspiel der Töne… - das hört man nur sehr selten so tief gehend. Im Gegensatz zu vielen interessanten Pianist*innen heutzutage ist Olga Scheps eine künstlerische Randerscheinung höchster Güte und Tiefe, die sich stets an nicht weniger als dem wahren Wesen der Komposition orientiert. Unvergessen ist ihre Live-Aufnahme von Prokofievs 7.Sonate vom August 2015.
