Hey, I have been watching your content a lot and it's been helping with learning asalato. Recently your website learnasalato.com went down. Is it something you didn't want to continue anymore or do you have another database of the tutorials there?

Watched all your videos - what a helpful resource for a beginner! Thanks for putting them up.
I saw a video where someone said that every asalato will break eventually, is it true?
Can you recommend a place where to buy asalato?

Thanks for completing my videos SaReGaMa :)
Yes, almost every Asalato breaks at some point.
If you don't want your Asalato to break easily, try to buy a small Asalato. Small ones are more dense which makes it sound okay even if it cracked. I have been using my small Asalato for years and still love it.
Contrast to that, advantage of having a big Asalato is the big sound, large movement, and easier to grab.
I summarized my recommended Asalato shops in this page.

I mean, I could imagine bc of the rope but you can buy a similar size rope and insert it in the holes of the balls.
The balls itself though? I have some cheap plastic ones and they are scratched up but I imagine they'll last a few years. I would prefer the wooden ones bc of the sound of the balls hitting each other, I'd say you can get some good ones wherever you'd like.
In the end, it's just 2 wooden balls with a rope attaching them.

well they are just shells obv at some point they are going to crack/break. anyways i wish i could enjoy this instrument to it's fullest. my hands are too big though. i just bought one (first time buying) and didn't really know anything about them but i have to put it in between my middle and ring just to make it click. and it's damn near impossible(for me at least) to keep it in a controlled state because it's obv better to grip it with index and middle i mean u just have way more control. i've put it inbetween my middle and index and it def feels better and from all the vids i've ever seen that's just the proper and best way to hold these damn things. my issue is just the strong is way to small it can't even wrap around my hand to make the back click. like wrap around the mid, ring, and pinky nope never happening just hits my hand :p so fun little instrument but to any new comers out there when u buy one either make sure you have small to normalish hands or get a bigger string if u have BIG giant hands lol because believe me you'll run into problems. and have to do what i'm doing make small tweeks to how it's held but at the same time of doing that u lose the ability to do the initial stuff like the swinging it around and clicking etc. pretty much impossible to do that move when it's in between the mid and ring you are either going to hit your index thumb area or the bottom part of your hand (where pinky is) so pretty much just saying fuck having big hands it makes this instrument harder to do lol XD

Well, I have smaller hands and the rope was too long for me. So I just readjusted the rope. Just undo the knots and keep redoing it seeing how you like the length. If the rope is simply too small, buy a piece of rope you can fit through the balls and cut at your desired length.
I think the wooden balls are preferable bc they are bigger than the plastic ones. It's the person which makes the instrument, not the other way around.
Simply learning to shake and click the balls may take about 2 hours. Considering you have to learn how you like to position your hands and arms and adjust the rope length.
