Hey man, Just wanted to drop a line and say thank you for this video. This video was crucial in just giving a clear process on how to do this. I'm not a mechanic andd have had to do several things to my 2008 jk the past week. And as I got a P0305 code changing these all out made it be fixed. This video was clear, concise, not too long and straight to the point. It helped me have the confidence to get it done myself and save several hundreds if not thousands of dollars. @@Motorcarnut It’s an awesome video. Thank you for actually showing how to get to the injectors and explaining how to replace them, as opposed to just showing how to determine that the injector is at fault (like most of the other videos related to this issue).
I appreciate this video. I have a buddy who is an ASE Master mechanic. He, like you, breaks things down so I can understand them. I am not replacing the injectors. I broke off a spark plug, and the porcelain won't come out. He told me since I tried everything to get it out, he said to remove the electrical connector from the injector and then drive the jeep around a bit, and hopefully, the cylinder pressure would pop it out. Since he is not close, he can't do it for me, so I do it by proxy, lol. Hopefully, that comes out. If not, I will have to remove the manifold, and I do not want to do that.

If the porcelain broke you should be able to get it out with a magnet rod or claw tool.

I think you are referring to the intake plenum gaskets
I already replaced both upstream 02 sensors but still running to rich do you have any idea what the problem could be ?????ty so much
What codes are coming up? Can be a vacuum leak, bad PCV valve, maf sensor dirty, leaking injectors in also a known problem with the JK's
Thank you for your videos they've been extremely helpful but why would I have fuel leaking above the number 4 spark plug Jeep doesn't start so I replaced the starter this morning and also the IAT sensor.
Could be a bad injector o ring or a fuel leak spraying on it very dangerous so be careful not to run it that way too long

I have a p0306 code. I put new coil pack and new sparkplugs. It drives fine but kind of makes a funny noise when it starts. Could it be the fuel injector?

I just replaced an engine in a 2007 JK, and it's running rough because that harness you showed working on, the previous shop broke the push clips holding it to the firewall, and the connector was resting on the exhaust manifold. Wires exposed, started corroding, blah blah blah. Do you happen to know the part number for THAT harness? I can't seem to find it for the life of me.

Are those injectors new or refurbished and also, where did you purchase these at and how much?
They are new, I believe they were about $50.00 each if I’m not mistaken.

Thank you for this. My #5 just took a crap on me, so I'm replacing all of them, as well as the coil, wires and plugs...did the plugs last year (Champion), but I'm going to replace them this time with Bosch Double Iridium. Question: would you recommend taking out the fuel pump fuse and cranking the engine a bit, to relieve the pressure in the fuel rail, or is it not necessary? Liked and Subscribed!
You really don’t have to, just put a rag over the connector just before you pull it off, and obviously don’t smoke or have any open flames.

Slide red tab up and squeeze black tab and pull off.

Question: when the injectors went bad did it make a ticking sound because I took mine to o reilys and they said it’s miss firing and it’s possibly the injectors or coil pack
It’s hard to tell if it’s an injector by listening because they all are making noise. If it’s misfiring check simple things first like the spark plug then the coil etc.
So that hose on the oil location in the engine is just sitting out. Is that suppose to be connect to something?? It is that hose next too where you put in your new oil.
I think you are talking about the steel breather tube? No that has it's own hole with a rubber gasket.

One question regarding releasing the fuel pressure from the rail.. Did you pull put any fuse or just released the line from the connector directly ? After install does require air to be released from the rail ? Thanks
Just release the fuel line connector from the fuel rail but before doing that just put a shop rag over the fitting so it doesn't spray all over, there is not that much pressure to begin with. and no you don't have to bleed anything, just turn the key on the the run position a few times to prime the rail before starting the engine.

I had to pull the 20a fuel pump fuse and crank the motor to release the pressure in the line then, it came apart easily with the 3/8 disconnect tool.

Hey man I did this and now my jeep won't even turn over any idea what's going on?
Well you have to back tract and check your work if the Jeep started before you did the work. Make sure the ground is installed if you removed it and all wiring connectors are installed correctly.
@@Motorcarnut I figured it out I was sitting in the engine bay helping my dad with the back bolts on the upper manifold... And I accidentally unplugged the main harness to the engine all is good and thank you for the indepth video🙏🙏

@@Motorcarnut however is still running rough. We've replaced spark plugs and ignition coil as well as everything in this video, checked the order of the wired to plugs and still is running rough as if the engine is misfiring, any ideas on what's happening here?
Was the Jeep running the same way before you started the work? Did you replace all the fuel injectors? If so, you have to make sure the mechanicals are fine first. You should do a compression check on all 6 cylinders to make sure their all healthy meaning all should be about the same pressure with a maximum difference of 10% from the lowest to highest. Don't worry about a specific number as long as its about 110 psi or above cold.
I had a cilinder misfire p0304 ,you think it’s the injector?
It’s possible, but I would start with ignition first. See it you have good spark, if you do then probably the injection system.

@@Ronaldothegoat7841 if you are smelling gas you could have problems with ignition not providing spark, check coil, spark plug wires and spark plugs

Number one reason would be a misfire that is not caused by a ignition coil, spark plug or low compression.
