Wonderful video, brings back great memories. I ran that Mac sp125 also known as the cart, back in the 70s. When Mac stop making it I ran the 2100 Husqvarna. We had one that was fitted with a carbator of a 090 still. That cut almost as fast as the Sp125. Unfortunately it needed a top end after about 6 weeks of production cutting. Thanks for the great video!

My uncle who is in his 90s, has a 2 man chainsaw that he and my grandpa used when logging in the Appalachian Mountains over 60-80 years ago. It's a monster with a bar over 5' long and handles on both ends. I saw it in use when I was a kid but have never used it and don't want to. I must weigh close to 100lbs, there is no chain-brake and almost no guards-- never was.

@@NothingButChainsaws PS. That saw was used in NC, TV, VA. WV, KY, MD, and PA as my Grandpa bought tracts of hardwood to sawmill for the furniture mills in NC.
I only remember the last sawmill he owned. It was powered by an International engine that started on gasoline and switched to diesel after it warmed up. No pony motor.

I grew up with a dad that used an 090 with the six foot blade. He wasn't technically a faller but he did use it alot. I grew up on the west coast of BC being around fallers I didn't really think yay or nay about them. They were just there. What was obvious was that they did have money. Alot of it. What they were also doing was crashing trans ams alot as well. Most of them survived but everything crashed around the late 80's. The old growth was all gone and there weren't any more faller jobs. The last guy my dad knew died of cancer around the mid 90's ...he was in his 30's....

Even though the old chainsaws were huge, they were slow compared to saws half their size today. But the old saws were not meant to be speed demons, they were meant to be easier than using crosscuts and axes.I have watched 2 good men on a crosscut beat an old gear drive chainsaw by several seconds, but there was no way they could have kept that pace for even half a day.

Good morning buddy now u talkn my language lol the logging life has always been a great part of my life and I have always loved old saws as well love seeing them ol homelites walkin the dog I'm that log lol. The big McCullough's as well as those stihls a couple of flat tops and a 056 Magnum 2 I spotted an I forget what the blue saw that that gentleman was filling is but I believe it is Canadian. I drop timber every day with my 066 flattop and if it doesn't handle the job or o get the 66 pinched 😬😞😞 I get my stihl 085av electronic out it's sportn a 42" cannon bar in .404,63full skip chain. My 66 is pulln a 32"Oregon power match in 3/8 full skip. An I just recently got a Stihl MS 461 back together I been usen it in small patches it's runnin 20" 3/8 FULL HOUSE with a 8pin sprocket I turned the fuel up alil and open the muffler up an removed the inner baffle crap am dual port cover tweaked the bottom coil post away from the flywheel a hair so now the factory coil is unlimited rpm I tuned the high jet alilan it's shocking how it screams with the 20" an 8pin especially in popular 🤗🤗😍😍😬😬😬😋😂😁😁😁 instant smile lol. I'm rounding up parts an then probably get it ported pretty good an put a hyway pop up and some caber rings with a base gasket delete the lil coil mod and Max flow air filter and cover ported muffler and bump the fixed jet inside the carb on the high side an I believe that will be a very evil set up with a new 28"light bar. Then after break in an few tanks of gas after that I'm going to do a full build possible big bore ported pop up maybe decked cylinder I don't know yet an few more goodies lol. Sorry for the essay. Love ur video hope all is well and stay safe bud.
