Dude you would love the European Husqvarna dolmar can. I think you can only get them shipped from Japan right now but the pour spouts are spill proof and self stopping. You literally just turn your can upside down and slam it on your saw and it fills the tank and stops. 11:27
I just really got into saws recently inherited a Husqvarna 272xp that cut three trees down and then say for 15 or so years. Decided I wanted to hot rod a saw myself so picked up a Holzfforma 372 to screw with and keep my husq original since it was my grandfathers. Now I have 5 saws and the only one left stock is the 272xp. Own 20 acres in Upstate SC and we have over 100 trees down from Helene so saws have been getting used hard on some big stuff so may order a 592xp or 500I and give these auto tune saws a try
Nice cuttin Gordy! Any advice on taken down a dead cottonwood? It has a 30"DBH, is basically just a 50 foot spar with no limbs but, the bark is flaking off of it pretty bad.
Hard to say without looking at it maybe get a line on it and have a lot of wedges ready sometimes those short poles don’t wanna go over without some help
Jed waz a christain. Humble ,respected and feared, the lord wich is beginning of knowledge ,been doingvtrees 29 years seen alot of great great men and tree men,he was up there with the best ..his attitude, gratitude, and humble behavior showed his fruits ..as bornagain christain in spirit and water 💦, after work was eating dinner and a video popped up From Jacob and I heard about .my heart sank and I wept like a baby..didn't not know him personally, but know one GODS people when I see one ,called spirit of truth .only holy spirit has ability to bring conviction to a man, putting him on his knees in tears ,same day had new helper and I was explaining this very issue. And had no idea about jed.praise God for his mercy ..a example to all men that need to repent as God commands because you don't know when your day will come .in any kinda work or life ,death will come and AFTER that the judgement..Jesus said you must repent and be born again in water and spirit .do not be deceived ...love ya,,

First and foremost hats off to Jed. I hate the loss of a brother in tree work. I live on the East coast. It's scary shit during storm work. I've climbed in hurricanes and ice storms. It's nothing you can predict. I blew a knee and don't climb. But I've seen grown men grabbed and dragged through a chipper. I've seen men decapitated. It's fuckin gruesome. Please show a few vids of safety. Awareness is so important. I watch y'all doing what I don't and my ass puckers when I see a hazard.
You've seen grown "men" go through chippers? As in more than 1 man? Damn that's scary. Nightmare stuff. I might be new to the industry but im not new to the power of machines. Definitely have to have respect for chippers.
@@PatKuntz it's hard on the nerves after a few close calls and more than a couple bad accidents. It was only one man I saw personally. But another crew had a guy pulled in a week or so later. When I blowed out my knee I never climbed again. Just lost my edge for it. Got too paranoid about everything
I was never a cutter. I got my start from listening to my old logger buddy Jerry Hebert “who was a great timber faller he is no longer with us” then I just really try and learn at lease one good thing or too from people I cut with everybody has good things they do you can pick up on if you watch close 👌

Got the new wedge banger handle, looks and feels amazing! Still deciding what head to use, probably my Kelly flint edge... Thanks Gordy! B in Sandy Or......
Awsome glad you like it Flint Edge will be sweet 👌
Dude you would love the European Husqvarna dolmar can. I think you can only get them shipped from Japan right now but the pour spouts are spill proof and self stopping. You literally just turn your can upside down and slam it on your saw and it fills the tank and stops. 11:27
The shirt is a great idea. Good cutting!
Awesome video Gordy!👍🏻 Quit funny as well😂 Jed will definitely be missed! It was very sad when Jacob posted his video 🥺🥺
You make it look so easy. Keep up the great work, stay safe.
Sorry to hear of his passing. Makes you think about tomorrow. its not promised. Be safe out there.
Jed waz a christain. Humble ,respected and feared, the lord wich is beginning of knowledge ,been doingvtrees 29 years seen alot of great great men and tree men,he was up there with the best ..his attitude, gratitude, and humble behavior showed his fruits ..as bornagain christain in spirit and water 💦, after work was eating dinner and a video popped up
From Jacob and I heard about .my heart sank and I wept like a baby..didn't not know him personally, but know one GODS people when I see one ,called spirit of truth .only holy spirit has ability to bring conviction to a man, putting him on his knees in tears ,same day had new helper and I was explaining this very issue. And had no idea about jed.praise God for his mercy ..a example to all men that need to repent as God commands because you don't know when your day will come .in any kinda work or life ,death will come and AFTER that the judgement..Jesus said you must repent and be born again in water and spirit .do not be deceived ...love ya,,
You are an awesome guy for the beginning of this video, also a great inspiration for me, one day I would love to be able to come out and bang wedges for you and Mike lol
Stones are supposed be one of the most painful conditions. 10/10 on pain scale
Thanks Gordy.

Saw seems to run good, gotta keep the revs up a bit?

Awesome thank you!
Keep up the good work and stay safe, I really enjoy your videos!
We all miss him bro at least u got to spend time with him in person...
My man... you are one great faller. damn. so smooth. a couple of questions
1. what size bar?
2. what chain are you using?
Cottonwood trees can get huge there are stories of people living inside them in the Midwest. Of course you don’t have any trees that big on the west coast 😅😅 Sorry to hear about Jed he seemed like a great person
My fav job while learning to fell was cutting the edge trees with the help of the excavator. Good safe way to learn the cuts with experience giving instructions from the cab.
Those cottonwoods make me think of the poplars we have in midwestern ontario here
Your a outstanding man Gordy😎🤙🏻
Go to love high performance saws! Awesome!
I remember my dad passed a kidney stone when I was a kid. He said it felt like trying to p out a razor blade. I can't begin to imagine that, even now 50 years later.
Sounds like a strong 500i. 💪
Love the movie clips!!! Grumpy Old Men had me rolling. 🤣
Yea it makes it a little more fun 😂
That 500 is workin too good
Just got my Vintage Jersey head hung on my Full Swing handle oh yeah! Thanks Gordy! I grew up on a sawmill my mom's boyfriend owned he was missing a couple fingers & toes from logging this sh*t is dangerous
I bet that looks good
So sad to see a good man gone too soon
That saw almost cuts like my MS170, it’s close, but a little slower lol. Sarcasm.
Rip Jed. Loved that dude from all the videos I’ve seen him in.
This makes me think of 500i would look really nice next to my 044
Yes, next to my ms 460 too, we can’t get them here in Upstate NY last I checked with my stihl dealer,,🤔
Love how you edit in movie clips
Thanks its something I was trying out and seems to make the videos a little more fun guess I’ll keep it rollin thank you
What's all done to that 500i you were running in this video. Sorry to hear about your friend as I have alot of friends in the industry
awesome job as always
Great vid as always , I’ve had a 500i on my shelf since thanksgiving but haven’t ran it till today , last night I installed your fellas suspension kit, bark box and dogs , after running a tank threw it im hooked ,, they had bitches 🤘🏻🤘🏻
sorry to hear about jed . his was a stand up guy
Really enjoyed this content . Stay safe!!
Jeez, that saw is an absolute animal!👊🏻
@WestCoastSaw I’m wondering what use your oil bar? These good?
Stay safe. Great video. Get it done!
Gordy great video
Glad you enjoyed it
3:12 should be an album cover
100% 😂
Rest in peace to Inbred Jed. Hard to see go
Well said Gordy.. I got my suspenders thank u, I'll get a shirt for jed for sure. I'll email the lady and have her email me when they are available.
Nice job got them good and low the money is in the but of the tree.
Great idea! Can’t wait for inbred Jed shirts I’ll be there to buy one as soon as you release them!
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
Gordy, where you a timber cutter before you started west coast saw? Because your timber cutting skills are insanely good!
I was never a cutter. I got my start from listening to my old logger buddy Jerry Hebert “who was a great timber faller he is no longer with us” then I just really try and learn at lease one good thing or too from people I cut with everybody has good things they do you can pick up on if you watch close 👌
@@westcoastsaw1368well, you’re a good student then haha! Nice to see you doing what you like :)
