      Thank you Chris. Yeah, the chameleon flakes definitely give a very nice effect. The camera doesn't do it enough justice compared to what it is like when held in front of you. The effect o even better in daylight.

    That is a beautiful bowl of Jigssy and the color is stunning, I like that.
    Good to see I'm not the only one with the screws breaking off while removing the faceplate.

      Thank you so much Hans. The colour definitely works really nicely on the texture.
      Lol, yeah. I knew I ran a high chance of the screw heads snapping off as it was like the 3rd time using the same screws. No point wasting a screw when it will still do the job and it's not that difficult to remove.

    Beautiful John.
    I have some of the powders from Emma but haven't used them yet.
    I'm not able to get into the workshop at the moment but when I can I will be making one of these and use the Dremel to create the "Dimples".
    Great video as ever mate.
    Take care John.

      The stylo may be underpowered for this sort of carving, but would be interesting to see how you go with it.

    • @JiggsysShed
      @JiggsysShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      @WoodenItBeNice no worries. The stylo is great for finer detailing and engraving and it is nice and light making it quite manouverable. Any heavy applications will slow the motor. If you are to use it for carving, you would need to do light applications and let the bit slowly do the work.

      @@JiggsysShed Nice job, I can see you have made it easy to work with the new machine. Your ability comes to the fore since working with the Herald. For every bit of praise. From turning wood, working with Dremel, or all processing processes, you did it well.

    • @JiggsysShed
      @JiggsysShed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much. It has definitely been a joy having the Herald in terms of the opportunity it gives in advancing my learning. Most of what I do is still experimenting, but then it's a great way of learning what the tools and I are capable of, but I have found it also gives inspiration for future projects... only issue is, time to do it all.
      Thank you si much for watching and commenting.

    Beautiful piece ended up being! You know the mica powder I’ve recently been using in my videos with the resin? Well they’ve got some colour shifting powders which I got a few weeks back with some similar tones. I’ve done what I can for now. It’s waiting on a trip to my mates big drum sander before I can finish it.

    You seem to have a recurring problem with broken screws! Are they from a pound shop by any chance?

    • @JiggsysShed
      @JiggsysShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, no, they are good quality screws, but this was the third time I had used the same ones. I'm not phased by it breaking anymore (unlike the first time it happened 😅😶) as it is easy enough to get them out. It's the same case with previous times that they break. No point in wasting a screw, just have to accept the consequence.

  • @WoodWithD
    @WoodWithD ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Haven’t finished video yet, but I have one critique if I may: camera movement at the start when roughing down, I’m currently feeling a little sea sick! 😢

    • @JiggsysShed
      @JiggsysShed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry about that. Didn't realise I had as much wobble in the camera at the time of filming. Need to improve my rigging as currently what I have is affected when the piece on the lathe is out of balance. Hopefully will get something more solid suspended from the roof when sort the rest of the workshop (hopefully will finally get time for it this summer)
