@@GolfGuyReviews Makes game easier...basically you have 2 shots to master....the bump and run with the ChipR and a standard pitch with 60 when required. Always go for the ChipR when you can, but you have the 60 when you need height over a bunker etc.
I found a old Forgans chipper from the 1940s that I put a putter shaft and grip in which works well but I finally ordered the Ping Chipr yesterday because I can hide it better amongst my ping irons 😄
Thank you, I appreciate your review! I actually invested in a Smart Sole chipper years ago (before the Ping ChipR) and moved away from it unfortunately. I am an 18 handicapper and play the “bump and run” technique quite a lot. I understand that Arnold Palmer always advised to keep the ball on the ground whenever possible using the “bump and run” technique because of the high tendency to chunk or blade a wedge. Based on your review, I will seriously consider taking a look at the Ping ChipR.
Thanks Dave. I’ve got more confident in recent months with the lob wedge…but I’ve kept the chipper in my bag…if it have the option, I’d rather hit the chopper and I’ll see better result with it 👍
I can chip, however as i have space in my bag i bought this when it was launched and have been so impressed with it. Albeit you can still hit fat shots with it but they do not happen too often.
I am a 19 HCP golfer and use the Odyssey X ACT chipper. I love it. Today I chipped from 50 yards on and holed it for birdie. I like the looks of the Ping. It reminds me of the Arnold Palmer Charger chipper I have had for many years and could still have it today. I like the Odyssey chipper because ot the insert in the face like the putters have.
I got one of these cheap Spalding chippers. Love it! It’s just so intuitive, and easy to imagine where the ball goes - just like a put, but with a bit of flight. And the ugly, cheap look in the bag screams “high hcp!!!”, so there are no false expectations from other players when meeting up on the first tee 😅
Great video. It is nice seeing how new clubs work out in the hands of a fellow weekend warrior. I chip okay with my ping g710 gap wedge but you have convinced me nonetheless to give the ping chipr a go this spring. How about a video showcasing the the 58 degree ping glide 4.0 vs the 58 degree ping g430? I plan to give these two a try at a golf store on a simulator but don’t have the ability to try them out on a course.
That might be my favourite TH-cam statement ever: 'I wish I had the ability to do that on command, because it means that I have the ability NOT to do it on command'. Sums up my entire golf experience in one sentence! Beautiful.
Way the stigma on your golf card it does say what club you used Ive had a chipper in my bag for years and my playing partners soon stop taking the p**s when u get closer than them Im at present usuing a cleveland smart sole chipper cost a lot less then the ping but its just as good or even better
4:36 Opinion…you tried to shank that. You dropped and hit one that worked too well, then did a cut away using whatever you thought a duff/shank would best fit.

You deserve it! Thanks for a humorous approach to a maddening game. 🙂
I'm a 6 handicap and I carry one. Versatile. Great for punching out of the trees as well.
Love that! As a mid-high handicapper, I didn’t feel I could speak for lower ones 🤣

What club did you drop for it?
@@Gramkan 5 hybrid....gap from 6 iron wasn't that big anyways...cranked loft on my 4 hybrid to become basically a 5 1/2 iron instead
I love this guy. He is so honest and funny! Thanks mate!
Thanks so much Rick 🙏🙏

Yeah I’ve hit a couple of fat shot, which is why I included a clip of one in the video. But I still love this club!

Love this! Thanks for watching Roger. I can see the ChipR staying in my bag for a while 👍

Love that, doesn't need to be an expensive club to get the same result :) The ping just massages the ego a little to try to blend in!
Just put one in the bag. Love it
Saves me 2-3 shots around. Hardly ever duff it
Mines still in the bag 👍
Just found your channel.. after I’d ordered a set of Kirkland.. going to send them back.. You,re my new reference point.. Thank you
Thanks Toby, feels a like a lot of pressure 🤣👍
Brilliant video! I'm terrible at chipping, and just bought this Ping ChipR for exactly the reason you bring up. 😊👍
Thanks so much Tom V, I love having the ChpR in my bag 👍
I’ve 24 handicap and run a Fazer chipper, looking at the Chipr as a few times today I needed a bit more height over a few smaller bunkers.
Not sure of the loft of the fazer, but the ping has enough loft to clear most bunkers around the green, and up to about 30 yards out 👍

Thanks Joshua 👍 will see if I can get my hands on the video, but to be honest I’d much rather use a chipper than a 58° if I can 🤣
I call mine my wizard stick! So long as I’ve not got water or sand to clear I’ll use it from 80 yards in
Wizard stick 🤣👏
Yup. Love to see an all chipper video pal.
Love my chipper!
Because of the nice grooves in this Ping ChipR, routinely on some of my longer chips, the ball will surprisingly check up on the green! ⛳️
Agreed, if it’s a clean chip of the fringe/fairway then there’s defo some check
Most people should have an open slot in their bag. DR/3W/hybrid, 4i thru PW, GW, SW, Putter equals 13 clubs.
Wouldn’t dream of taking my chipper out any time soon
That might be my favourite TH-cam statement ever:

Sums up my entire golf experience in one sentence!
Beautiful.
🤣🤣 thank you! ( I still can’t do it on command)
@GolfGuyReviews great review! a heads up you title has a typo in it, "Chpr" and not "ChipR" :)
Haha, good spot, thanks!
Didn’t know the professor did his thing off the court and on the course too?!?! Right on!!!
This reference has gone over my head 🤦♂️🤷♂️

Thanks for watching and sharing Phil. The chipper is staying in my bag for sure!
I have a 52, 56, and 60 wedge if I had to take one out to replace this chipper which do you suggest?
Personally, the 60° 👍
I agree thank you

Opinion…you tried to shank that. You dropped and hit one that worked too well, then did a cut away using whatever you thought a duff/shank would best fit.
Thanks for watching, but can confirm I didn’t try to shank it, I’m just a crap golfer 👍
Just use your 8 iron to bump and run everything. Easy!
The weighting and set up make this much easier to hit than an 8 iron 👍
You know what you are…. Lmao great line
The stock ChipR has a loft of 38.5 degrees, not 37 degrees.
Thanks for watching and confirming
Dude confuses pitching with chipping. Learn a pitching technique and stop using the lob wedge as well as using the chipper around the green.
Thanks for the tips!
