Great review, I’ve got one of these myself as a company car. I was taken back by the amount of features it has such as radar guided cruise control, emergency breaking and apple carplay. But on the other hand… no intermittent wipers!!!! How does a car made in 2021 NOT have intermittent wipers! Toyota wear going to charge me $1,300 for a reversing camera! Camera cost $60 or something from Polaris and take 30 minutes to install with the correct stuff. I wish I got the bigger engine. Struggles a bit uphills with some weight in the back above 60km/h
Ive got an SR and it has intermittent wipers. But no variable speeds for them!!!!. You have to get an SR5 to get the intermittent wiper speeds. What a joke my 1999 Hilux has this standard.
Have 2016 model true workhorse but u u can watch the fuel gauge move as u drive and it would be lucky if it can tow a ton ....unless u stay in 3 red or 4 th gear
I just brought my 2024 hilux workmate single cab. Looking forward to it, Just not a big fan of all new cars and their up to date fitures. Like start button start, button hand brealk, flat screen compouter cluster. Just prefer old style. Only thing i don't really like bout the toyota hilux is the wheels they come with. When its little bit wet on road the ute becomes a drift car.
Bought a 2021 workmate automatic petrol with alloy tray. This thing drinks fuel worse than a v8. On freeway travelling running at about 15 to 18 Lts/100. Can,t hold top gear for love or money. Always dropping back to 5th and 4th at a drop of a hat. In the wet when empty on winding mountain road or on roundabouts, an absolute death trap. And yah, no intermittent wipers. Go figure.
@@tristan6509 yah I knew it would be bad but not this bad. Have had auto utes before but this thing leaves the rest for dead. On freeway running at about 110 klms/hr, I figure it might be nearer the 19 to 20 Lts/100. I think a lot of this is to do with poor engine mapping. I see no other reason for such poor performance. Neil.
@@neilcox7879 the 2.7 manual usually only gets 7-8km/l, i wouldn't be surprised if the auto gets 5-6km/l The 2.7 is a reliable but terribly inefficient engine, it's fuel consumption is actually on par with the now-discontinued 4.0 V6 engine (although it is still offered for export markets)

My prob with most. The tyres are unsafe. Sprinkle off rain drifting. Just dont like sell flatbeds with to small tyres on back. Come on! Dont wana drift or go backwards on greasy hill.
In Kenya we don't have the tipper modification. All are normal pickups. Can you tell me where i can get a company in Australia that will offer the guidelines on conversion?
I just bought a 2020 cab chasis hirider, drove it back from Queensland unlaiden, some 500kms, I have never owned one before, I just love it, I have no issues with the ride, my patner was surprised how well it rode on the highway, even on back roads its fine, used 8L/100km of diesel, I owned a little corolla, I am so happy with this ute, hope this is helpful.

my 2007 model was easy to fix the no intermitant wiper problen simply fit a stalk fron sr5 model its plug and play

Automatic petrol is the worst combination you can get... Not surprised that it gulps fuel like that...

@@kayjenkins731 diesel will always be good on fuel, you see on carsales regarding fuel econimy and its nothin like what people are getting
