- Watch the whole video before starting. It took me less than an hour to complete, and I've never done it before. Be gentle if you're not replacing the bezel since the plastic IS old and brittle. Like, comment, and follow for future content.
Part numbers: selector cover (AL1Z-7D443-AB) and black trim bezel (7L1Z-7E391-AA) or chrome bezel (7L1Z-7E391-AB)
Tools used: 7MM socket w/ extension and ratchet, small & medium flathead screwdrivers, and a curved pick. Add an 8MM socket if you need to remove what the selector cover is connected to to access the left front clip.
I had the common issue of a plastic piece and spring breaking inside the shifter mechanism.
I could barely get my 2015 expedition into park because of it.
I was able to fix it because of this video. Thanks so much for making this!
Glad to have helped!
Thank you for this video! Just used it on a 2017 Expedition XLT and everything was the same.
Thanks man im at work and they don't have this in the wsm so this helped out so I didn't do anything dumb and break stuff 😅.
Glad it helped. When I did this, I could only find the 1 video, and it wasn't helpful so I did this!
Had the same issue with my 2014 F150, still looking for a similar video but this might be the closest thing out there. That other video didn't show much at all!
Same problem is what led to me making this video in the first place.
Glad to hear it worked. I couldn't find a good video for it, so I made one.
