1994-2001 Ford Explorer 4.0L V6 Mass Air Flow MAF sensor replacement

The fast version is to simply swap out the MAF sensor itself with a T-20 Torx security bit & the 2 screws holding it in...but this shows swapping out the entire housing, which I got for the same price as just the sensor. Showing my experience replacing the headliner in my 2nd gen Ram. Most of it is straightforward, but you can also avoid a couple of my mistakes in this video, too. The job can be done in under an hour with a very few hand tools.
1996-2001 2nd gen Ford Explorer starter replacement & install

This can help you replace the starter in a 2nd gen (1996-2001) Ford Explorer V6 SOHC, VIN code X in the eighth spot. Should be pretty similar to V6 OHC, since both engines are 4.0L, just with a different starter. You'll need 8, 10, & 13 MM sockets, a ratchet, and maybe an extension to get the work done. Should take less than an hour total if you have the part handy.

Watch the whole video before starting. It took me less than an hour to complete, and I've never done it before. Be gentle if you're not replacing the bezel since the plastic IS old and brittle. My dodge ram only has dash vents front heater function the floor vents and defrost do not work
Sounds like the blend door is stuck because it usually defaults to defrost when stuff fails. I recommend looking for videos on how to manually move that door, though on mine there's an actuator accessible from the driver floorboard that lets me move it.

Had the same issue with my 2014 F150, still looking for a similar video but this might be the closest thing out there. That other video didn't show much at all!
Same problem is what led to me making this video in the first place.
Excellent video, I just finished installing a new set of headlights on my ‘96 Dodge B3500 and I thought I knew what to do and your video helped me be more confident about it. It’s sure going to be great to be able to see again at night.

K, so this ain’t the procedure for 1995-2001 explorer. This is the procedure for 1995-2001 explorer SOHC V6 models. The OHV doesn’t look like this.

I had the common issue of a plastic piece and spring breaking inside the shifter mechanism. I could barely get my 2015 expedition into park because of it. I was able to fix it because of this video. Thanks so much for making this!

eek. that's a '98 and up pickup, not a 94-97. In the earlier ones that cupholder's up above the radio. (I have two of 'em, and yeah, they're both broke).
Ah, didn't realize they'd moved it between 97 & 98, but it's still a 2nd gen. Does explain a lot of issues I had with a 97 parts truck I'd picked up at one point, haha.

Was a Philips, as I recall.

Hi how come you changed the motor as well?
The bearing in it was so bad, you could hear the fan wind down when it cut off.
Doing this now to mine. Same symptoms so I'm replacing the resistor and FSN. Hope it works
