I am looking forward to spending Christmas with you, Kevin! In the mid 1960s, my mother would bake little orange glazed muffins. After we opened our presents, she would stack the little muffins in a basket covered with a Christmas napkin and send me walking down to the neighbors’ homes to deliver them on Christmas morning. After I was finished, she would have a plate of orange muffins for me! ❤🎄🍊

Your pumpkin cinnamon rolls look wonderful. I will need to try your recipe. Only 3 days ago my 78-year-old mother made homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast Thanksgiving morning. Her rolls are wonderful. She owned a bakery when I was a kid and taught me to bake more than 50 years ago. 😊

Kevin, you are very engaging. I always feel I am really joining you in the delights you create. A Very Special man you are! Those cinnamon rolls i am sure are wonderful & it is a recipe I will try. My mother was an amazing baker & spoiled us to where no other could meet her high standards. She would make pies & we would deliver to the elderly in our rural community who didn't have family. They would offer us a quarter ( this was many years ago ) & my mother would always say , do not accept it. We always felt so good doing it. An Algonquin, hailing from Northern Ontario, Canada

I have so many memories and recipes from my childhood with my parents and later with my daughters that I wouldn’t know where to begin. I LOVE your videos and so enjoy the many activities you make so inspiring and interesting. I’ve tried many of your recipes and they are always winners. I don’t know anyone I’ve encountered in my area who does all the homemaking, gardening and cooking things you do and quite frankly those who know how I keep up these things think I’m nuts to still be doing them at 80 years of age. To me, I still enjoy these things even though I take more time doing them. This is another way of being creative and it is rewarding. Please make that video about restoring that pretty table. Happy Christmas decorating!

We just received our first snow overnight. It just stopped snowing. More like a powdered sugar coating than a heavy snowstorm. It does have a way of getting you into the mood for Christmas. The pumpkin sweet rolls look quite delicious. Perfect for that pumpkin lover in our lives.(me) My mother used to make what she called an English tea ring on Christmas morning. Some people call it a Swedish tea ring. You could actually make one from the pumpkin roll recipe that you are showing us today. Hers was just plain sweet dough. After rolling up into a long rectangular tube shape, I think she would cut into halfway, then pull or shape into a wreath. After baking she drizzled frosting glaze over it and decorated with candied citrus, cherries, and nuts. Needless to say that the house smelled wonderful. She made cinnamon or Carmel rolls out of the same dough at other times. Sometimes she would make randomly to surprise us with. I have seen these rolls placed on a baking sheet in the form of a Christmas tree also, then decorated with cherries (ornaments). Beautiful also. Your tree looks beautiful. I appreciate how you explain to us to clean from the top down and freshen up the area where the tree will be placed. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us. I look forward to seeing how you decorate for Christmas. Take care and see you next time.♥️🎄🦌🧑‍🎄❄️🐈🥯🧇

I can't recall a special breakfast, but we always looked forward to chestnut dressing for dinner. For years and years, we devoted one whole evening to peeling the chestnuts! And we tried every method, believe me. And then, a few years ago, we found packaged, roasted chestnuts, and my life has been changed forever! It wouldn't be the holidays for me without the chestnut dressing.

Hi Kevin, Wonderful visit with you again this week. A special treat with Goldie coming for a cuddle during your introduction. He is becoming a really beautiful young adult already and so loving.
Favourite food for Christmases past? Simple! My mother would make heavenly short pastry mince pies. She never weighed out the ingredients yet they turned out superb every time. As you know, in the UK these are made using fruits such as sultanas and currents, not minced meat. For the past 20 years I have been perfecting my own pastry, always weighing everything out and can finally say my Christmas mince pies are almost as good as my mother made all those years ago.
Your special Cinnamon Rolls look extra yummy and must smell fantastic both while you are making and baking them. As I live alone I think I'd need to half or quarter the recipe but definitely one to make.
After our customary ride it was really great to meet Joe Gilbert, owner of the Berry Farm. What a handsome tree you have selected and what fantastic service for it to be delivered later the same day! That's just amazing. By the way, I've been wondering for a long time: you often play music by the same artist on our drive to your local stores. Who is this singer, please?
Cleaning - my favourite pre-Christmas chore - NOT! Still, it's got to be done. Be careful on those high steps. Your parlour floor positively gleams from all the love and attention you give it!
Like many others, I'm really looking forward to your Christmas decorating activities, baking, cooking and more. Keep an eye out for the post, I put a small surprise into the mail for you which I hope arrives before you start decorating your tree...
Happy Holidays with Love and Huge Hugzz to all of you, my extended Hudson Valley Family, Steve xx

I grew up until age 15 in England and our Christmas pudding was a trifle made with raspberry swiss roll for the cake, strawberry or raspberry jelly, thick Birds Custard, and fresh whipped cream for the top. My mother-in law in Maryland always made a sweet, cinnamon braided bread topped with vanilla buttercream drizzle, chopped walnuts and halved maraschino cherries with maraschino cherry juice drizzled over top. In fact, I made a couple of them 2 nights ago, so delicious. I use frozen bread dough from my supermarket, it saves a lot of time and tastes very good.
I would be interested in seeing how you restore the table. I have been wanting to refinish my dining room table for years and haven't had the courage. Thank you for all you post. I love watching.

I know how much you love your cats, so just a reminder that Christmas holly, Christmas tree needles, and the water you use to keep tree fresh, can be very dangerous to our feline friends. Perhaps a video on how you keep your sweet kitties safe during Christmas? (And keep them out of your flower arrangements all year long). Been a subscriber for a long time. Enjoy your content so much. Kevin, these rolls look wonderful. I love honoring my Mother at Christmas too! It was her favorite time of the year - and she did it up beautifully. So the two constants my mother would make at Christmas were Minced Meat Pie and Orange Popcorn Balls. Both were just fabulous. I am putting on the Christmas tree baubles and decorations as I am watching you. I have that EXACT same marble slab that I bought 30 years ago from William Sonoma. Thank you Kevin for you wonderful history. It is always so comfortable and wonderful have those beautiful memories of our childhood. Christmas has been, for me, ever and ever the most special time of the year. We do not have snow in South America neither Christmas tress on my time. We put the Jesus Nativity. My Mon made the most beautiful Nativity at home. Usually the 1st day of December you wakeup until January the 7th.
I wait with enthusiasm next week video to enjoying the decoration of the house.
It was so nice to hear your Mom's history about that special moment of making the Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls. I am sure the smell goes around the house. There is nothing more nice that this will bring such special memories, feelings and waiting to enjoying those rolls every year.
Today we have the 1st snow on the ground, Just enough to cover the trees and garden. I have a wonderful view of the garden that we have here. I lives in a complex of 5 buildings of 4 floors each. The majority of the people are seniors. It is suppose to be a village but lately, young people have buying some units. It is a very special place.
Until next video. Blessings and Love for you cat and dog.

I live in Western Australia and we do not have many homes that are very old, historical and restored and if so they are museums so when we visit other states, mainly Tasmania, Adelaide or other countries like Ireland or Canada we always stay in historical bed and breakfasts as I just love antique type furniture and that style of living even if it’s just for a night or two here and there as we travel around. Hence, me enjoying everyone of your videos as your home, your garden and soundings are very beautiful. Thank you for sharing your lifestyle.

Kevin, my favorite Christmas morning treat was Norwegian Yule Kake..or Christmas bread (cake). it was a sweet yeast bread made with colorful fruitcake citron mix, nuts raisins and marachino cherries., the bread dough was flavored with fresh ground cardamom seed, my grandmother and mother would shape the dough iinto round loaves and bake in pie tins or in the squat one pound coffee cans of the 1950’s The loaves were brushed with a powdered sugar/milk glaze during the last 10 mins in the oven. The glaze would bubble up and look like flaky ice. The bread was served sliced thin, toasted and buttered..MMM so good. it is the taste of Christmas and I continue to make it for my family. Mom and Grandma would bake up lots of loaves ahead of time and freeze them They wrapped the loaves in saran wrap, decorated them with ribbons and sent them around to the neighbors @Christmas.

Oh Kevin😍 I need to try your recipe. It looks so good! The first time I made cinnamon rolls was with my mom and I taught her how to make them at 1,5 after trying Cinnabon for the first time. It took our entire tiny kitchen table to make them and roll them out at least 24”x 36”. They were way too decadent and better than Cinnabon! It became a 1-2 times a year fall tradition.
Having Italian roots, for Christmas, my mom made these stuffed large cookies called Vocellati. Stuffed with minced figs and nuts cooked on the stove just until mixed with nuts into a sticky paste but chunky. Then baked, egg washed with those tiny colored confetti on top. Also two more things made with the same dough called Casatelli ( fried half moon dumplings and stuffed with ricotta sugar mixture, and glazed in honey cinnamon nutmeg glaze served warm), and with same fried dough but in tiny balls called “Cicirchiata” or “Strufoli”. They were rolled thin, cut like you would to make gnocchis (pillows), then you fry them quickly until they colored, remove onto Scott towels; and then like you would rice krispies, warm honey with tiny tiny pinch of nutmeg, more cinnamon, would coat all the Strufoli. Which were placed in shapes of wreaths in plates, and sprinkle with those tiny confettis. You had to work fast like making Torrone as the strufoli begins to stiffen as the honey cools so you needed to hurry a bit to shape your wreaths. These were gifted to family members so you made lots. They last a long time and freeze well unglazed. Very deadly to eat even on their own as its a crunchy sweet cookie like texture, very addictive. She used an entire KG of honey each time. The fig nut cookies also freeze well. It was the only desserts aside Easter bread that were made without fail. I have no family of my own so its been a while since I have embarked on making these, and Santa Lucia cookies December 13.

We always have cinnamon rolls and a classic family make ahead sage sausage breakfast casserole. It sits in the refrigerator over night and we bake it the next morning. We enjoy the casserole with the cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit and mimosas while we open gifts. I love our relaxing Christmas morning with family. I look forward to the Christmas sage sausage breakfast casserole all year! Love your videos Kevin! Happy Holidays from the beautiful Pacific Northwest!

I love your videos! You make the most cozy and heartwarming videos. My parents were not bakers so my sister and I became the bakers for our family. My sister's close friend made poppyseed logs for all of her friends and we delighted in eating it right up! As an adult my daughters enjoy my bundt cake with either vanilla or orange frosting. I just found your channel and I'm looking forward to try so many of your recipes. My family loved your pumpkin pancakes.

And black and white cookies from an actual bakery in the neighborhood in Toledo Ohio. It was on a corner in an old west end polish cultured area

I would definitely be interested in watching you work on that table. I have two antique mid century, teak end tables that need to be redone so I’d like to see how you go about it.

Thank you so much for sharing another wonderful episode. Love how many creative ideas you share with us. You are so frugal and encourage everyone to share memories. My husband says in his family they always had moose and rabbit pie for Christmas Eve. The tree is so beautiful. Have a wonderful week and thank you again for sharing so much with us.

You have the very best culinary ( and otherwise) instructions Kevin. The pumpkin spice cinnamon rolls look so heavenly. On Christmas morning we always ate my grandmother's 1920's recipe for Christmas cookies which are rather plain shortbread cookies made with Crisco and dusted with lots of powdered sugar.

I love cinnamon rolls, although mine are different from yours. I use brown sugar so they have a "sauce" when removed from the pan upside down. I sometimes serve them with a cream cheese icing (that sometimes has a rum flavouring in it). I've never tried them with pumpkin... but have added raisins and walnuts. Mmmm!! 😋
I'd love to watch you restore that beautiful antique table. It looks lovely as is, but with a "proper" shine, will be stunning.

I will try the cinnamon rolls with pumpkin. Sounds so good. This Friday is my annual Christmas 🎄 decorating with a few friends. We have such a good time. I am having Cuban sandwiches with Spanish bean soup. I am adding your bacon covered bread sticks and your red pepper hummus. I might have the rolls as dessert. Yum.

Oh, yummo on the Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls, Kevin! I am always glutton for such rolls...but never tried with Pumpkin. Since I am a southern girl at heart, (sweet potatoes over pumpkin any day)...but I guess I can try making it with sweet potatoes. Cakes, especially with caramel icing was the biggest dessert for our Christmas! The "sifter" certainly brought back nostalgic memories of homemade stuff. Appreciate your sharing and look forward to the Christmas decorating!

Thank you for another great video, Kevin! Christmas morning breakfast for me always means a sausage and egg breakfast casserole (made the night before and baked fresh in the morning), cinnamon monkey bread and a big fresh winter fruit salad! We always eat a big breakfast because the main Christmas dinner is mid afternoon.
