    good job, zip tie trick is epic! I've always just eyeballed it and hoped the flybarless would sort it out 🤣

      Wow! Thank you for watching! I greatly appreciate it! Eyeballing works really well if you have the eyes for it. I can eye a swash plate and it is dead level every time. The FBL will definitely take out of it but a perfect setup just makes the Heli fly so much better!

    another tip with zip tie, to avoid removing main head I'm using tape to fix zip tie or toothpick on main head, so I can do the same trick without removing the head.

    I think Jeff gives invaluable insight into the heli hobby and I love him.
    But guys, just use a swash leveller or if youre really skint, just eyeball it carefully from all directions and then hover and trim it out in the FBL as required.
    Never failed me in all my time in the hobby.

      Thank you! I greatly appreciate that! Yes, I agree 100% use a swash plate leveler. I personally don’t because I have got the eye for it. I could literally look at a swash plate and tell you if it’s level or not. But not everybody is like that and a leveler is just so much easier.

    Great guide, Jeff.
    I have a set of ajustable servos, and it makes things a breeze.
    Or alost... It's a set of Thetas and using the Theta control box.
    That can be a bit of a struggle, since it can be 'disconnecting - it self' again and again without end.
    I don't know if other people are having this struggle too?
    And chilled autum greetings from Denmark.

      Thank you! I appreciate it. I absolutely love Theta servos. In my opinion, they are one of the best servos on the market! But! I can’t stand their program box. They really need to redesign or re-engineered the box to make it a lot easier for the user to do and to stop it from disconnecting all the time. It can be a real pain. That’s the only thing Torq servos have over them. Their program box is super simple and easy to use.

    Hey Jeff, I'm going to dig out that Multiplex Twister, and see how big of a box it will take to get it to you. I don't know the dimensions offhand, but as I think I said, it's like 85% built. I'll Email you in the next few days. I would like it to go to you.

    Hi Jeff, I have a Fusion 180 which seems to fly a little tail heavy and I can't seem to move battery much more forward. Is a solution to have the swash plate deliberately slightly tilted forward?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@marcotibaldi5659 hello! What battery are you using? Is it drifting backwards? Are you using auto level or just normal hovering?

    • @marcotibaldi5659
      @marcotibaldi5659 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @westhobbiesrc8051 thanks for the quick reply! :) I'm using a spektrum 450mAh 2s 50c JST (SPMX4504S50) with a JST to IC2 adaptor. Flying *without* auto level in IU1. Hovering doesn't appear to have much if any drift (difficult to tell as I'm still quite new and most of my hovering is in my lounge in confined space), but outside in forward flight it seems to require more forward cyclic input more of the time to keep it moving forward and if not given, tends to nose up a bit. Whereas my Infusion 120 seems to scoot along much easier with much less forward cyclic. Hope that makes sense!

    Are you saying 90 degrees matters more than than equal link length?

    • @KevinTalbotTV
      @KevinTalbotTV หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      if its 90 and equal length links and swash is not level then wouldn't that mean that something is bent?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If everything is 90° in the swash plate is level your links should be within a few millimeters off of each other. Of course, depending on the servo and linkage set up some of them are longer than other ones, but servo 90 and swash level is the most important thing.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Normally, yes, it really depends on the helicopter and the linkage set up not all helicopters will have equal links with each other. Depending on where the servo is located forward backwards, etc.
