This was one of the best animated films to me during my childhood. I would rent it from my local library and watch it a lot. I loved the story, characters, music, everything else. Please do a review on All Dogs go to Heaven 2, Balto, Rock dog trilogy, Sheep and Wolves, and Equestria Girls.
I just want to say rest in peace Judith Barsi (1978) to (1988) as the voice of Anne-Marie and as the voice of Ducky in The Land Before Time (1988) and as Thea Brody in Jaws The Revenge (1987) Judith Barsi will be forever remembered as a legend amen.
The All Dogs Go To Heaven movie series and tv series are my most favorite Don Bluth movie series along with The Land Before Time movie series and I especially love Hazbin Hotel and Little Nicky too. Little Nicky is my favorite Adam Sandler movie and Hazbin Hotel is my favorite newest animated Heaven and Hell show. I'm also a Charlie x Sasha fan. This series crossovering with Hazbin Hotel Helluva Boss The Good Place Little Nicky and Good Omens would be awesome and others I also like are Sonic Spyro Rayman Legend of Zelda and others.
Glad to hear a balanced commentary on animated stuff! I'll be interested to watch the others you've done! That being said, about this animator/director, I have to say I hated Don Bluth's unrelenting sugary sentimentalism - you can see it in everything he did, from the just-too-precious Penny in The Rescuers(though I did like the film overall) to the ridiculous is-that-really-a-dog sidekick in Anastasia. It especially frustrates me because he was wonderfully capable of realistic people and mannerisms - Anastasia is a strong example of that. If they had just left out the stupid "dog", which looked like it belonged in a completely different film! I could deal with the characters much better when he wasn't the actual writer/director - there tended to be much better balance in both the script and the character design when he worked with a larger company. He did interesting stuff for Fox, and I really enjoyed Titan A.E. But even there I could detect his over-the-top sentimentality, when the alien that "sacrificed" himself to save the crew suddenly wakes up again and lets everyone know he was just asleep, healing. Really? I mean, okay, alien physiology and all that, but it was just so convenient... Still liked the movie, though. Great animation and character designs. But his earlier stuff I just gag on all the sugar, and yeah the faces are weird. Or way over-cutesy. No inbetween there.
One thing that confused me with Titan A.E was the general vitriol that ALL the other aliens had for humans (which...why? What did they do?) and how a bunch of aliens with completely different physiologies and looks thought the human girl was pretty - their species should have *entirely* different ideas of what beauty is. I mean our beauty standards vary from culture to culture when we're all the same species, aliens that have four arms and beaks shouldn't think a flat-faced, two-armed human is attractive.
@@kristineweber8084 To be fair, plenty of ladies (TOTALLY not including myself...don't look at my search history) do find a lot of 'monsters' that are more on the beast-like or scary side attractive - like everyone who was very disappointed when Adam from Beauty and the Beast turned human again, so it's not a totally foreign idea that people could find traits that aren't normal to their own species attractive - but that's more a fringe thing, I certainly wouldn't expect every species of alien that looks nothing like a human to think we're attractive. Maybe cute in an ugly way, like pugs.
Thank you! I had the goal of drawing a unique pic/oc for each movie, but for ones that all feature the same type of animal - and there are a LOT of dog movies - it seems like it's not really necessary, especially with the health stuff I've been dealing with lately that make drawing hard. Can barely hold a pencil some days.
Thank you! I'm still new to making my own videos, though I've been writing scripts for other folks for a bit. I am trying to learn to do more effects and improve my writing!
Don Bluth is so talented. One of the scariest depictions of hell I have seen on film is that all dogs go to heaven.

@@moonstruck8245 Yeah, that's a general complaint I have about monster movies too. Remember they're mostly written by men, or were originally.... :D
