Hello everyone! I make videos about fairy tales, animated movies, and possibly more in the near future! If I can start making some income off this, I'll have time to do a lot more, so please subscribe if you enjoy what I do!
I also write scripts and short stories, and do artwork. I'm trying to learn to draw in different styles, mine is mostly a sort of disney-esque semi-realistic style but I would like to develop more styles.
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Holidays! This one I had to dig deep in my memories to find, as I haven't seen it in YEARS - but I had vague memories of cats, cheese, and Christmas, so...here we are!

Sorry it took me so long to upload! Because of how long it took, I am uploading it here to youtube at the same time as on Patreon, though the patreon version doesn't have the additional copyright editing as usual. The next ones will be released on patreon earlier than here on youtube though! Please note that I am writing from an amoral, mostly villainous point of view for this series, so please...

Amos Slade was RIGHT, and here's why! I'm still learning how to edit videos so please go easy on me! Background music is from Purple-Planet, go check them out! And yes, I did draw myself as a dog (border collie/cocker spaniel mix) for this one. If I do more cartoon review type things, I might draw myself as something that'd fit into that world for every video.

Mochi Tail Capture
มุมมอง 842 ปีที่แล้ว
My chow chow pupper Mochi, fresh out of a bath, trying to catch his tail. Don't mind the red mark on his neck, he got scraped up while playing outside there and I had to shave the area down and treat the wounds to prevent infection, it'd be very hard to properly treat it through fur. He's an incredibly silly little pupper. XD
That Balto statue gives a flashback to the false god graffiti on the Superman statue in BVS.
Not going to lie. I misread the title and got excited that you are reviewing the underrated childhood classic Rodney Dangerfield animated film Rover Dangerfield. The movies are where I learned what show girls are and how gambling works.
I'll probably take a look at that one before long! It was...certainly an interesting one XD
What about the All Dogs Go to Heaven sequel?
Rescue rat😂
I think I remember this movie idk tho
I would have guessed just from your avatar/oc that you were a fan of The Great Mouse Detective!
I try to draw a different avatar/character for each different 'world' that would fit into that setting, this isn't my main sona or anything! The closest thing to a 'fursona' I have is this weird little jackalope thing I hardly ever use anymore.
The All Dogs Go To Heaven movie series and tv series are my most favorite Don Bluth movie series along with The Land Before Time movie series and I especially love Hazbin Hotel and Little Nicky too. Little Nicky is my favorite Adam Sandler movie and Hazbin Hotel is my favorite newest animated Heaven and Hell show. I'm also a Charlie x Sasha fan. This series crossovering with Hazbin Hotel Helluva Boss The Good Place Little Nicky and Good Omens would be awesome and others I also like are Sonic Spyro Rayman Legend of Zelda and others.
This is still one of my all time favorite movies along with Treasure Planet and Coco
Moons. Have you heard of mickey mouse and the three musketeers?
If any disney movie deserved a sequel, it was this one
This movie deserved a series of sequels. Not only are there the Sherlock Holmes stories to draw from, there is a whole original "Basil of Baker Street" book series that this movie was (very!) loosely adapted from.
Great video ps have you heard of evil dead
The old movie with the dude who replaces his hand with a shotgun? Yes, I've heard of it. I haven't really thought of tackling any live action stuff in the near future, I mostly tend to watch animated movies.
Omg a black cat
A timeless classic and one of Don Bluth's best. I still remember going to see this at the cinema, what an experience. It was so different from the Disney films I was used to. These style of films, are now a sadly a lost art.
I'm really hoping that someday, people will go back to it. Everything seems to go in cycles - clothes that were popular in the sixties and seventies came back into vogue for a while, people are loving 'retro' music and media - they keep remaking classic movies, but making them worse. Maybe someday, instead of that, the studios will return to their roots and start making masterpieces like the ones we all remember, the ones that made you want to be a better person like the characters when you finished watching the movie - the ones that made you feel like you could be MORE. That you could do anything. That you could build yourself into who you want to be, instead of today's current crop of "You're perfect as you are and self-improvement is a lie!"
Growing up, I had a similar experience with the American tail series like did with Ghostbusters. As a kid, I liked Ghostbusters 2 better than the first because it had more Winston and slimmer like the real Ghostbusters cartoon. Not sure if I grew up watching the American Tail animated series. But I did like an American tail fievel goes west better than the first as a kid. I found fievel and wylie burp friendship touching. Also, I liked that Fievel set out to be a hero instead of just being a lost child. Years later I found out an American tail fievel goes west was in universe removed from canon as a Fievel daydreaming. Nice to find someone else who finds the song somewhere out there gross.
Those awful sequel movies retconning Fievel Goes West out of existence is by far one of their WORST sins. That scene at the end with Wylie giving that speech to Fievel was a beautiful piece of cinema. especially considering it was one of the last scenes that actor ever recorded.
The best of what we wish the Sherlock Holmes stories were, and a Classic in my book. Although listening to your highlights makes me wonder if This Sherlock could be diagnosed as a variant of high functioning... something. Very serendipitous that his partner shores up anything he lacks . (I'm Not even enough an armchair doctor to diagnose it, but I'm sure Someone could figure it out.)
I'd say he'd have highly likely been diagnosed in the modern day, though back then not so much. He gets hyperfocused and fixated on things, he's clearly very smart but doesn't do well with socializing, which I'm sure a lot of people with ADHD or on the autism spectrum can relate to.
3:55 Housekeeper. It was a profession back in the day. They would usually be widows who would take residence in the houses of there employers, usually bachelors. Sometimes they would be close friends or even family, like a grandmother or distant aunt.
What threw me off was her stating that those were HER good pillows and trying to tell him off, which I'd be terrified to do to an employer, especially if my housing depended on them, but maybe she's just a tougher lady than I am!
@@moonstruck8245 Housekeepers back in those days would actually decorate and even bring in there own furniture etc. to the house they where taking care of as it was basically there home as well at that point. Also, the scene was clearly played out as a joke with Basil acting like a hyperactive child and Mrs. Judson (whose name is a play on Mrs. Hudson, Sherlocks housekeeper) having to clean up after him. I can almost hear her going "This boy will put me in an early grave he will!".
I always thought Mrs Judson is the landlady, not the housekeeper. Like Mrs Hudson in the Sherlock Holmes stories. She could kick him out anytime, but tolerates him because fundamentally, he isn't a bad guy.
Glad your okay.
I just want to say rest in peace Judith Barsi (1978) to (1988) as the voice of Anne-Marie and as the voice of Ducky in The Land Before Time (1988) and as Thea Brody in Jaws The Revenge (1987) Judith Barsi will be forever remembered as a legend amen.
Well if you did´t know they did make a few comic books for Basil, I think you can mostly find them in Europe, I belive Italy. Maybe you can find some if you search Guide to the Basil of Baker Street Comics and Other Strips Now they do have Ratigan return but I belive they did rather well made stories, I have only seen parts and what I saw looked good. Nice review, I find myself liking this movie more and more.
I had no idea! I'm in America, but I'll see if I can't find those comics somewhere!
@@moonstruck8245 Well there you go :D Glad I could help. I am sure you can, hope you will enjoy them and maybe you will find other fun comics along the way. It´s funny how some Disney characters got big comic runs outside of US which is´t from the main American studios. Or not even published in the US. Europe have thier own fan base for Disney with diffrent taste and preference from US.
This review reminds me of the Reading Rainbow segment of what the kids read and suggests that you read it. Very nostalgic feeling you bring to this review. Thanks and good work. This was very soothing.
Thank you! A lot of my friends do ASMR (sometimes with scripts I write for them, I really need to get more of those scripts posted) so even though I don't think I have the voice for ASMR, I think I tend to bring a little of what my friends do into my reviews sometimes without really intending to! I'm glad you enjoyed it though. :D
Glad to hear a balanced commentary on animated stuff! I'll be interested to watch the others you've done! That being said, about this animator/director, I have to say I hated Don Bluth's unrelenting sugary sentimentalism - you can see it in everything he did, from the just-too-precious Penny in The Rescuers(though I did like the film overall) to the ridiculous is-that-really-a-dog sidekick in Anastasia. It especially frustrates me because he was wonderfully capable of realistic people and mannerisms - Anastasia is a strong example of that. If they had just left out the stupid "dog", which looked like it belonged in a completely different film! I could deal with the characters much better when he wasn't the actual writer/director - there tended to be much better balance in both the script and the character design when he worked with a larger company. He did interesting stuff for Fox, and I really enjoyed Titan A.E. But even there I could detect his over-the-top sentimentality, when the alien that "sacrificed" himself to save the crew suddenly wakes up again and lets everyone know he was just asleep, healing. Really? I mean, okay, alien physiology and all that, but it was just so convenient... Still liked the movie, though. Great animation and character designs. But his earlier stuff I just gag on all the sugar, and yeah the faces are weird. Or way over-cutesy. No inbetween there.
One thing that confused me with Titan A.E was the general vitriol that ALL the other aliens had for humans (which...why? What did they do?) and how a bunch of aliens with completely different physiologies and looks thought the human girl was pretty - their species should have *entirely* different ideas of what beauty is. I mean our beauty standards vary from culture to culture when we're all the same species, aliens that have four arms and beaks shouldn't think a flat-faced, two-armed human is attractive.
@@moonstruck8245 Yeah, that's a general complaint I have about monster movies too. Remember they're mostly written by men, or were originally.... :D
@@kristineweber8084 To be fair, plenty of ladies (TOTALLY not including myself...don't look at my search history) do find a lot of 'monsters' that are more on the beast-like or scary side attractive - like everyone who was very disappointed when Adam from Beauty and the Beast turned human again, so it's not a totally foreign idea that people could find traits that aren't normal to their own species attractive - but that's more a fringe thing, I certainly wouldn't expect every species of alien that looks nothing like a human to think we're attractive. Maybe cute in an ugly way, like pugs.
I liked "Basil of Baker Street" (to call it by its proper, _original_ title. The Disney animators *HATED* the "GMD" title, btw; the change was ordered by the Corporate dweebs...)
@@MrPGC137 Basil, our supposed hero and protagonist… is an asshole. He doesn’t listen to anyone, he’s not very nice, he treats everyone around him like shit, and he only cares about himself.

Don Bluth is so talented. One of the scariest depictions of hell I have seen on film is that all dogs go to heaven.
I first heard the words forensic, ballistics, autopsy and roofie from watching the great Mouse detective as a child.
Ratigan's villain song will never leave my mind
It was PERFECT. Vincent Price was an absolute gem and I am so sad that I never got to meet him. One of my co-workers did and told me he was an absolute gentleman and just so polite and wonderful to talk to. IT WAS NOT FAIR.
@@darthpikachu3007 The “World’s Greatest Criminal Mind” is the most pointless villain song I’ve ever heard in my life. All we know is that Ratigan is planning to take over Great Britain. We know. That’s what he told the toymaker.
@@patrickshields5251 Doesn't make it any less catchy, though have to admit the later song was better. So long, so soon and isn't this a crime.
I prefer movies that aren't romance centered. This movie is an underrated masterpiece.
It's probably one of the reasons I liked this movie so much as a kid - no romances. Besides, since Basil is based on Sherlock Holmes, it wouldn't make sense for him to be into romance.
I love this film, especially the villain Ratigan. Afterwards we got another excellent film Oliver and company that has some amazing songs and scenes.
I hated this movie from the moment I first saw it as a kid. Basil, our supposed hero and protagonist... is an asshole. He doesn't listen to anyone, he's not very nice, he treats everyone around him like shit, and he only cares about himself.
That's weirdly what many people who don't read think Sherlock Holmes is.
@ Even if the very people who wrote Basil give me a detailed explanation of why he is the way he is, I’m still at a loss as to why are we supposed to like him. All he did is bathe himself in his own ego, mistreats and disrespect his clients, and nearly gets a little girl killed. If there’s any GMD fans reading this, please help me out, why are we supposed to like this little shit?
@@patrickshields5251 Well if you don´t like him don´t like him. I don´t think you have to. Even if you like the movie overall but don´t like Basil, he is suppose to be a sort of character you normally don´t like. But there are some angels to him that makes it understandable why he is that way. He is the type of character who dose´t chosse to hurt others, others just gets hurt for him being himself. Think of it as a autistic person who dose´t filter the way he/she speaks to someone.
@ Huh? I don’t get it!

One of my most favorite movies EVER!!
I love this movie! It combines three of my favorite things together: Disney animation, anthropomorphic animals, and Sherlock Holmes!! It doesn't get much better than this!
So you like Furries...
If you haven't seen it, watch Hayao Miyazaki's Meitantei Hōmuzu, or Sherlock Hound if you prefer. Though I can't help but think Sherlock Hound? Yes, and you call him hound despite the fact that he is obviously a fox. Still good though!
@DemonDethchase I'll definately check it out! Thanks! 👍
This was one of the best animated films to me during my childhood. I would rent it from my local library and watch it a lot. I loved the story, characters, music, everything else. Please do a review on All Dogs go to Heaven 2, Balto, Rock dog trilogy, Sheep and Wolves, and Equestria Girls.
This is one of my all time favorite Disney film. I just love how the late great Vincent Price brought so much character to Ratigan. Miss Kitty Mouse was my childhood crush, and she needs more fanart to family friendly to adult.
I adore your intake on these films and your reviews are very well constructed!!! I’ve happily subbed to your channel!! ❤❤ Keep up the great work!!
Thank you so much!
Love that Disney Movie, so great and never touched on again, a real shame a Victorian London mystery with mice's and murders with girls, that could've been a great series!
Such a wonderful review!!! Great Mouse Detective is one of my favorite Disney films, it’s so charming and beautifully made!! ❤❤❤
Originally, this movie was supposed to be called "Basil of Baker Street," which is evidently a much better title because an executive renamed it to "Great Mouse Detective" as a way to try and deliberately sabotage it. 5:40 Actually, I'd also like to add that mice are vicious. They will gorge themselves on blood so it's dangerous to put your finger near one as they likely will clamp down on it and suck your blood like vampires.
The only power the Royals have is to dissolve parliament and can still maintain order over the Army in the event of a coup. Great review of a classic over looked gem. They just don't make them like this anymore.
They really don't and it's such a shame. The creativity, the music, the unique atmosphere and characters - everything is so bland and cookie cutter now to appeal to mass advertising rather than telling stories.
You should read the book. It really shows how evil Cruella is.
The 2014 version is the most accurate.
The book is better
Ratigan was one of Vincent Price’s favorite roles.
I remember in an interview he gave once around the time of the movie's release, he not only mentioned that Ratigan was one of his favorite roles, but also went into quite a lengthy explanation of _why._ It was really interesting; clearly he put a lot of thought into playing the role. What he really liked, he said, was that the character put up this big front of being all polished & sophisticated & classy & even suave, but underneath the surface, he was still just a sewer-rat, and in the last extreme, that's what he reverted to at the end. Price really liked that aspect of the character, as he felt it reflected a lot of _us_ as human beings: Underneath our civilized exterior...we're all still just animals just under the surface. Really quite an interesting interview; I wish I could remember what publication it was that I read it.
@ that’s amazing considering he was 75 at the time.
Despite being animation, it's so obvious Price was having a ball with the role.
Hopefully this won’t get a live action remake.
Shh... Don't give the House of Mouse any ideas.
@ I wasn’t. I don’t want anymore remakes.
Thank you for my incomming nightmare.
I've always hated live action,we never needed these horrible live action remakes, that's not even what a remake even is =.= disney clearly never bothered to look up the term
The reasons for most of it was fair, but the latter was better chalked up to warfare. (And you can't tell me neither side declared war in all those years.)
Light or L should be next lol less this is just Disney villains
I don't really watch anime - I'll watch anything made by Miyazaki, but I'm not a fan of schoolgirl pantyshots and sexual harassment as comedy so I tend to just avoid anime wholesale. Plus sitting and watching multiple seasons of something so I can remember and respond to things accurately is a lot more difficult than just watching a movie. XD Disney was my main inspiration from childhood, even if it's gone to the dogs in a lot of ways now. Also Tai Lung isn't a Disney Villain, he's from Dreamworks.
I thought this film was good but yes I agree with some aspects that could have been good. The villain was badass though.
Animation: 10 The Yodel Song: 8 This Plot: *ASS.*
I always loved the movie Brother Bear as a kid , sure it’s not as iconic or memorable as The Lion King but it does have great themes about love, brotherhood and the power of nature. Let’s not forget who did the soundtrack Phil Collins , who also did the songs for Tarzan
I was unfortunate enough to see this in theaters when it was new...............to my 6 year old self........I'm so sorry.
Take all the time you need to recover! You deserve nothing less than a restful recovery as best as possible!
HOLY, ARE YOU OKAY... WHAT HAPPENED. you don't have to tell me btw but I know how it feels to be in the ER [I had Pancreatitis and was stuck in their for 3 weeks]
Gall bladder needed to get removed. It'd been causing me problems for a while, but I kept getting told I needed a referral from my primary care doctor to get into the surgeon because of how insurance works, and my primary care doctor was booked out for eight months or longer. I ended up having a severe gall bladder attack, going into the ER and they did surgery to remove it there. It'd apparently gone septic or something, they gave me a photo of it (I'm weird and ask for stuff like that) and parts were all black and looked GROSS.
