Anonymously Done A bunch of their songs take place in the same world as other songs they made. It’s kinda like this one big universe that they formulated using music- I love when that happens
I lost one eye some years before. So I think I could feel the pain of him a little bit. hey, "But that's alright, that's okay ....". This is something I've learned (before your great song) the other day... There is a lot of wisdom in this sentence. You made my day!
to be reborn in ever glimmering brass lined with shining silica fiber letting your thoughts stream through your entire essence as does the oil keeping your cogs turning without a single hitch! to spread your wings over the clouds while those before you welcomes you to bath in the light of the sun and drink your fill as immortal ^^
(You can read this with a Russian accent) I couldn't find the lyrics of the full story of this song anywhere. My English does not allow me to understand songs by ear. So I translated every slide from here. And I was not so worried about the fate of the main character for a long time. I was so glad when I finally found out that he had succeeded. I somehow thought that the authors will not arrange a happy ending. I'm so glad I was wrong. Thank you for your creativity. You are breathtaking.
New fan to The Cog, and this is very quickly becoming my favorite song, along with Never Go Into the Woods. Fun, fun stuff.Very well-written and performed. Love it.
Whenever i get injured or hurt in anyway, all my head is going to tell me is "That's alright, that's okay, don't you know you'll live to fight another day?" Great song, very catchy, i love it!
You know, I was just going to mention this very thing. I mean, his original ailment of pain in his eyes was already cured in the procedure that ended up removing them. It seems a bit of a disconnect to the original story. I mean, technically a cure can refer to a fix for any condition, even physical ones, but we usually don't associate the term with lost body parts. In particular saying "finally found _the_ cure" makes it seem even more like it was referring to that original condition. I dunno, it's not really inherently _wrong_ per say, it just seems... well, disconnected as I said. I was more expecting him to build his own steampunk prosthetics, at least for his thumbs to meet this new challenge like he had originally met his blindness with a slate and stylus.
This song has helped me through this last month so much. My wife broke her ankle a month ago, our house burned down 2 weeks ago, and my wife was in a car accident yesterday. (No injuries to either party) But it's alright, we live to fight on.
Nathaniel had a sickness for his eyes I don't remember the name and at the time the only way to treat it was removing the eyes of the pasient. and being blind and thumbless he found the cure
Ok I first want to say, this is one of my favorite songs and it's absolutely incredible. But I DO have a few questions... 1. What was the pain in his eyes? What was his actual condition if you based this off of one? 2. In the song, it states that the experimental treatment did cure his pain at the expense of his eyes, so was he making a cure for others with his condition so they didn't have to lose their eyes, or was the cure getting his eyes back but without the pain there? 3. With the line "he could sail through the sky with precision, he could sense where he was even though he lost his vision" did he develop some sort of inner compass like most birds have? Is it sheerly off of his other senses, which inevitably would have been improved? Is it some toph-esque ability to feel the vibrations in the ground? Srry I just tend to get really into the lore and world building of stuff, and I genuinely am curious about this song. Any clarification you can provide is very much appreciated!
Thx for the advice. It really helped when I needed it the most. Some coincidence, don't you think? :))))))))). But you know what helped even more? Those videos with people doing time. They kept saying that in prison you have to take any resources you can find. That seemed to stick with me for some strange reason.
Love the song. I have to note something about the video, however: I worked in a metal shop for years and there is one particular piece of equipment in the montage that just makes me burst out into laughter every time I see it. That was an excellent addition!
I don’t want to know how many times I’ve listened to this song before actually watching the video… is the person in the video using a pepper grinder at 2:48?
Take for instance Mr. Ian Davis, he injured his left hand and the damage is too much that he had to get 4 fingers removed and he's working on a replacement.
Just Realised, Since I Remember When This Came Out, That Means I Must've Been Listening To The Cog Is Dead For Over 2 Years. Blimey, Time Sure Does Fly. Or Should I Say, Time Waits For No One?
A nice ending to Nathaniel's story but it would've been better if with each album a new verse was added and he kept losing body parts to the point it's 8 hours long and he's just a lump of brain
The one thing I don't get is why is there a complete and incomplete version of this song? Both are good, but the last verse ties the whole story together.
The shorter version was released first and a few people pointed out that it felt incomplete, and they were right! So a third verse was added which completed the story.
@@thecogisdead Oh, so the incomplete version was the original version. That's cool that you went back and made the third verse to make the song complete. Nice going, my hat goes off to you.
I choose to believe he turned himself into a steampunk war machine and called that a cure.
I believe that to, every time there was a flaw he cut it off and replaced it with metal
Now I'm imagining him having no legs just having Wheels and a cannon strapped one of his arms
A new idea for a final fantasy boss right here
Well I am pretty sure warforged are a thing, that exist and they are kinda-sorta-maybe steampunk warmachines 😇
Are you saying it isn’t???
Nathaniel: *Finally finds the cure*
Everybody who listens to the song: You did it! You son of a Copperplate, you did it!
@Anonymously Done DeATh
Coughcough, it's a different Nathaniel, but I am proud to be counted in their numbers.
"son of a copperplate" made me laugh
And he's got such a good Name to...
Copperplate😂😂
Woah, is this like, a musically connected universe now?
Hell yeah I'm in
Anonymously Done A bunch of their songs take place in the same world as other songs they made. It’s kinda like this one big universe that they formulated using music- I love when that happens
Apology if I'm being stupid, but how is this one connected to the other songs?
Oh, god. What's he gonna lose now?
4 minutes later: Oh, nevermind.
@@lukasvonweidts9681 he lose part of brain that was letting him to feel Like he lost
Who knows maybe his nose it is possible lol
Then he loses the cure lol
You know. Just his blindness.
I love how slipped in among all the machinery clips, there's a moment of a waiter with a pepper grinder.
Still technically a machine! 😉

Already a perfect song. Now I’ve risen to steampunk heaven

reading this outloud and not knowing how to do a russian accent was quite funny

Good to know he finally came out on top. Let's just hope he got his cure patented to make his victory complete.
You know what's I'm glad about? That you're keeping your songs in mind and even change them if you think you need.
Huh. I took the original as him having prosthesis. I took the wheels and grease metaphors literally.
Whenever i get injured or hurt in anyway, all my head is going to tell me is "That's alright, that's okay, don't you know you'll live to fight another day?" Great song, very catchy, i love it!
But... what did he find a cure to? Not having eyes? Not having thumbs? Both? Did Nathaniel invent transplantation?
You know, I was just going to mention this very thing. I mean, his original ailment of pain in his eyes was already cured in the procedure that ended up removing them. It seems a bit of a disconnect to the original story.

I think he cured the original condition so others wouldn't suffer. The thumb things is for prosthetics
*Warhammer Techpriest intensifies*
I love this song, it does help me get through some tough times and is tots a ear worm in the best ways!
Thank you!
Oh heck yeah! A great motivational song that got even better! The video itself is beautiful too, the machines are so synched up to the music.
this didnt have to slap as hard as it did but he did it for us
This is some good morning motivation. Be like Nathaniel.
This song helped me get through some rougher days, I still mutter the chorus under my breath when the going gets tough.
still have this banger on repeat, absolutely love this song and the message behind it
So glad Nathaniel got his happy ending. He's been an inspirational guy.
Congratulations! A link to this video has been posted in the Facebook group called "NarfCat's Earworm of the Day!"
Glad my lads are getting noticed in any way

He was able to cure everything but Z (0:59)
Haha, that's a weird glitch and I still can't figure out why it happened.
WE GET MORE?!? AMAZING!
Yasss that is exactly what i needed for this day! Thank you.
Jokes aside this song is catchy as hell as always
Good job
I believe that Nathaniel will find cure for all of us...
SCP-49 WANTS TO KNOW YOUR LOCATION
Oh my god yes! I was honestly hoping you would make this for so long! This is one of my favorites!
I love all the clips with the gears and machines at work
Haven't seen an actual story through music like this since The Youngblood Chronicles. Neat
The whole eye pain resonates with me, between the migraines and the cluster headaches.
You should record Nathaniel's universe:
Nathaniel strikes back.
Return of Nathaniel
The last Nathaniel
Rise of Nathaniel
😃
Nathaniel: Tokyo Drift
The phantom Nathaniel
Nathaniel's Bizarre adventure: Dirigible crusaders
WOOOOO!!!
I had this song in my head all day, then I check TH-cam and this was uploaded.
The tone of your voice is a bit lower in this version than the original.
I like it.
I cried. A quality addition to a fantastic song.
If you were going for super bouncy happy groovetime yay, you've outdone yourselves :D
I only discovered this band today and love em! Really hope they will do some more live shows, must be awesome to see in person.
This is the reason I supported the album
Shoutout to box for introducing me to this banger a year ago
I always have a fun diddy dancing to this song!
I love y'alls music so much.
I hope that ya come close to WV this year. I'd love to see you guys in concert
My favorite song of yours
Wow... been years since I listened to this and now TH-cam randomly recommends it out of nowhere. And oh boy did I really need this today.
I love this so much, you guys are the best, keep it up!
Wait.... What's the cure? I feel just as lost as the original.
I loved this one so much, pleasing to listen to and the short story was marvellous!
I ... I think I'm in LOVE! This is great :)
Hello from Russia, your music is super
Amazing as always! Can't wait for the next song. :-)
Very catchy

Can anyone tell me what the first song in Nathaniel's story is? I'm coming up blank.
It's the same song, but this version has one additional verse. 😊
Huh alright, thank you. I guess that song just feels much older than it is.

Oh my god... WHAT A SONG DUDE
Anyone else agree the footage with all the machinery is just satisfying to watch?
I expected him to lose another body part, but all he lost was everything that was cured
This is soooo gooood, love it so much and everything else you guys do! Much love from Serbia 🇷🇸🇷🇸💕
Got really confused listening to this on Spotify because the lyrics for the short version and full version are swapped for some reason.
