      Rick got stuck in the most awkward of spots when he came to Detroit 30 years ago, after the unceremonious removal of Ernie Harwell. I met him on the Tigers Winter Caravan that year and he was very kind, showed his chops by picking out Ray Herbert in the audience, a West Michigan transplant at that time who had pitched for his childhood team, the White Sox. With Dave Sims and Rick, Seattle baseball fans are well served, though the season is now over, enjoy your success and your stars!

      @@dougsmith6346 yeah cause when our cf is hit twice in a game with heaters and they say we tried to hit someone with a slider that’s terrible.

    • @BumberFussin
      @BumberFussin ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@dougsmith6346 you can be neutral and still show emotion. They also had really awful takes on certain things like Diego hitting someone on purpose and Scott not liking or being sure about the Castillo trade? He didn’t say that at all in the first post game he said it was a difficult trade to make for higher ups but that he was super excited when it went through because Luis Castillo is elite. Also they had very little emotion in their calls. First inning had the same emotion as the 9th. I would take any team’s local broadcasters coverage of this game over this espn crew. I’m not even going to start on east coast/Toronto bias. I expect Toronto to get more positive attention they are Canada’s only mlb team and their owners market and publicize them to death.

I proceeded to nervously burn through my phone battery haha checking the score bc I just couldn't get it off my mind. I was at a Barnes&Noble killing time until I went out for dinner and the wifi wasn't good enough to stream the TV or Radio so I just watched the CGI Strikezone lol, for the whole Bottom 9th Inning and my heart was pounding watching the pitches come through and hoping we could get this win. I was eventually headed to a fancy steakhouse, so me and my dad did a toast with some good Scotch. Houston is gonna be very tough but I believe we can do it!

    ESPN scorebug is too small... too hard to read! (my tv's only 46")
    The Mariners however have been unbelievable since they clinched the wildcard with Raleigh's fair pole homerun. ☺️

    So I am curious here. In that moment did either of Bo or Springer make a mistake? If only one of them went for it, then the catch would have been made? No collision?

    • @garyinmarz8938
      @garyinmarz8938 ปีที่แล้ว

      Center fielder's ball, but got a late start on it maybe because of the swing, it became a toss up once Springer saw Bichette not letting up.

    • @Ryan-cb1ei
      @Ryan-cb1ei ปีที่แล้ว

      Just bad communication. Should be center fielder’s ball because it’s much harder to run back and make the play as an infielder, as opposed to coming in and making the play as an outfielder

    • @20minutes14
      @20minutes14 ปีที่แล้ว

      There was no reason for bo to try to catch that. Springer probably would’ve caught it with ease.

    • @Spartan0430
      @Spartan0430 ปีที่แล้ว

      it still probably would have been a tough catch if they communicated better but unfortunately they both just wanted it too bad.

    • @garyinmarz8938
      @garyinmarz8938 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Spartan0430 The probable hesitation off the bat and Springer seeing Bichette not letting up took the play out of Springer's glove,,,maybe.

    I can't imagine any team wanting to face the Mariners right now. My Mariners MVP? Cal Raleigh

    Thank you for this. I tried matching the radio call with the TV but it was to far off. ESPN commentary sucks so bad. I didn't like the way it was filmed either. The cinematography shots throw it off. Hopefully it'll be better next series. GO MARINERS!

    If you slow down the collision in the outfield, those babies barely touched each other. Imagine, two Americans getting paid over 30 million dollars combined by a Canadian club this year, to roll around on the grass in front of 50k shocked Canadians. Chef's kiss. They've been making that same error all season too.

    I really hate that Rick got the short end of the stick in Detroit during the whole Ernie Harwell debacle. Granted, Ernie is one of the best to ever do it, but Tigers management at the time really screwed Rizzs.
