Totally agree! Been a fan since '95, when I lived in Seattle (Amazing time to be a fan!!!) And, yes, the 2001 Mariners were ridiculous in the regular season, but I was a nervous wreck watching them in the playoffs. The 2022 Mariners remind me more of the '95 Mariners (scrappy, confident, coming together as a whole club of players who somehow find a way to win, even in the most "hopeless" of circumstances.) Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, possibly the Dakota’s. This team has become my favorite M’s team I’ve ever watched. 95 and 01 were both amazing teams but something about these guys

Every now and then flukey games happen. On Sept 25, Mariners themselves blew an 11-2 lead in the 6th against the Royals. The Royals scored 11 runs in the bottom of the inning. Mariners lost 13-12. I realize it was a regular season game but they were fighting for home field. Like I said, flukey games happen. The post season just magnified this one.

The excitement of that Edgar shot and Griffey charging around the bases had so much hype and so much led up to it happening. In particular the image of Griffey rounding 3rd base is burned into my memory. This was great, but that is still the greatest Mariners game/moment of all time.

As a Jays fan I'm embarrassed and devastated they couldn't contain a 7 run lead and had the single greatest collapse in franchise history. I was watching the Cards vs Phillies game yesterday and saw fans walking out of the stadium when it was 6-2 in the 9th and thought how ridiculous that was. The audacity to give up on a team you supposedly root for. Seattle's stadium was a watch party and they had more faith in their team than a home crowd in St Louis.
I got no dog in this fight. Happy for the Mariners/ fan base and all! But also crushed for the blue jays fan base that's a devastating loss really saddens me to see all those kids smiles into frowns.
I've been watching baseball for close to four decades and it always makes me shake my head when they pull a starter after 5 innings when he's doing well. I remember the days when a starter could go the distance.

The team PR broadcasting have been reflecting/ reminiscing the late 90s and early 2000s M's team so much during these terrible years, it is getting old, needs new history... Didn't expect to win a high scoring game verse the Jays. Why you don't sign a one-year wonder (fairly average career) in Robbie Ray to a big contract, but Luis C. trade is what they needed and the 2 young starting pitchers Gibert and Kirby. If they gave Julio that contract that early, what about Cal Raleigh. Jays got tons of young hitters too, new young bloods in mlb on display.

As a Jays fan I'm embarrassed and devastated they couldn't contain a 7 run lead and had the single greatest collapse in franchise history. I'm absolutely gutted right now and that sour taste isn't going to go away anytime soon. Congrats to the Mariners and their fans, deserved to win and wish them nothing but the best moving forward. Just devastated. Done with baseball until the spring.

I was watching the Cards vs Phillies game yesterday and saw fans walking out of the stadium when it was 6-2 in the 9th and thought how ridiculous that was. The audacity to give up on a team you supposedly root for. Seattle's stadium was a watch party and they had more faith in their team than a home crowd in St Louis.
The schadenfreude of watching teams snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is always satisfying, UNLESS it's YOUR team that folded like a cheap suit.
I think some of those Blue Jays players needed to be humbled. They certainly have been and I expect a more mature team next year.

I got no dog in this fight. Happy for the Mariners/ fan base and all! But also crushed for the blue jays fan base that's a devastating loss really saddens me to see all those kids smiles into frowns.
I hope those frowns turn into resentment and when they grow up they leave that hellhole of a city.

I've been watching baseball for close to four decades and it always makes me shake my head when they pull a starter after 5 innings when he's doing well. I remember the days when a starter could go the distance.

The battle of 1977. The M's are like the Lions of the NFL. The team PR broadcasting have been reflecting/ reminiscing the late 90s and early 2000s M's team so much during these terrible years, it is getting old, needs new history... Didn't expect to win a high scoring game verse the Jays. Why you don't sign a one-year wonder (fairly average career) in Robbie Ray to a big contract, but Luis C. trade is what they needed and the 2 young starting pitchers Gibert and Kirby. If they gave Julio that contract that early, what about Cal Raleigh. Jays got tons of young hitters too, new young bloods in mlb on display.
