I was thinking 12.8xx @ 106.xx honestly. What's going on with the 2-3 shift? I know with the 80E in my truck, I'm having to set max shift RPM at 5000 and set the MPH where I want it so it doesn't over run the commanded RPM. When I had it set by RPM and MPH (6100 RPM) I was getting 6500-6600 RPM upshifts. On the recommendation of a few people, I set my max RPM to 5000 and left the MPH the same. On the street, it seems to have fixed it, I am going to the 1st Funday Sunday of the new year to see if I can go faster with it shifting lower. The cam peaks around 5600 and carries to 6000-6100, never pulled it to 6500-6600 on the dyno - so no idea how hard it is or isn't falling off up there. Prior to a gear swap, I had gotten my best ETs and MPH shifting at 6100. Also, what day was this? It looked like December 10th by the time slips.
@@J-Whit Damn, I had no clue they were running yesterday. Opportunity missed. I really want to try different shift points and find my sweet spot. Then, torque converter swap.
@@J-Whit Hopefully the weather is agreeable on the 7th. 🤞 I went 13.289 @ 103.77 last month in good air - with it shifting in the twilight zone. If so, then rebuild/overhaul/refresh time, same as all other 4L60 ever.
Is it ok for oil pressure to be that low at idle or is there a sensor issue? My mom had an Envoy awd 4.2 and always idled around 40psi like most GM trucks in this era. Not being an ass, just genuinely wondering why, would assume with the turbo it would be higher than normal, even at idle.
its also not shifting into 3rd. its doing like 90% of the track in first and second then hits the limiter around the 1000ft mark when trying to shift into 3rd.
This is extremely impressive. And what boggles my mind is that it still has so much left in it. 3rd gear, lower gears, stronger trans that will hold a higher stall converter, taking seats out for weight. I cant remember. Do you have calvins camshaft upgrade in it?
Its still running stock cams at the moment. But you are right and thats why im so happy it ran this in its current form. Just shows how much further it can go.
You can do quite a bit with trans tuning and a Corvette servo. Also making sure trans fluid and filter are clean. Knock the shift timing in half with HP tuners. Bump line pressure 10 percent to start. Also raise shift speed 5 mph across the board. Idk if you've done any of this already but trans sounds lazy for sure when shifting. Oh yeah and change shift pattern I think it is called to performance. One last thing the stock i6 converter stalls around 2600 to maybe 2800 at best considered the poor man's stall on a V8 application so that's helping you as is evident on last launch.
@edgallimore2843 i know pressure has been bumped and torque management adjusted. Not sure on the shift points etc. When i go back i plan to manually shift it.
im looking into a 2step possibility. thats what 2 step does kind of. it will cut spark at a certain rpm to allow it to build boost and hold at a set rpm. stock computer makes it challenging.
