My husband was watching the movie my mother was in my son's bedroom and heard the song she stepped out walked to the livingroom where my and my husband and I were watching the movie and said "that my song the name is amapola" I remembered as it was yesterday! The song is from Spanish origen.
What memories music can stir. Amapola was always a part of my childhood then later as a fledgling musician I was utterly captivated by a version arranged for guitar. Here the great Morricone dishes up a sumptuous string arrangement of a Spanish classic for Leone"s masterpiece. Wonderful!
Morricone didn't compose Amapola, it was composed in 1920 by a Spanish composer who also wrote Spanish words to it. Morricone only arranged it for the movie
