I feel bad for these devs. Their biggest issues are the servers themselves and the ISP for those servers, it doesn't seem like it was their fault or that there's anything they can really do. They are awesome for giving unconditional refunds though. I hope they get their stuff fixed, this seems pretty interesting.
The question really is though; did they do all the stress tests they needed to, or did they maybe skimp out on them?
From the sounds of it, they had roughly 1,000 people in their stress test and were prepared for up to 20k players, but I don't think they were expecting the deluge of players brought on by popular streamers and the quarantines.
They also apparently had a similar issue during the streamer access, and made a hotfix that eventually turned into a live hand grenade when the servers filled up.
Yeah it may feel like the sweet forbidden fruit of tossed salad in a interstate rest area, but it's just water.

@@martyrsaint Go check out almost any one of the Steam reviews of this game. Just a myriad of people talking about how days or moments after downloading the game their shit going haywire. The game devs say it's just a false positive and that Microsoft has cleared their game, while you can go to the Microsoft threat list and find one of this games assets. You'd be lucky to even remove the malware fucking your shit up; it continues to attack your computer hidden in your memory. Also, they're a dubious Russian company, which should've been enough to fuck off this game.

Those that are painfully obvious that they didn't built themselves? Banking from the success of primitive technology? I'm so tyred of clicking the "not interested" button on those.
I am in their launch date trailer on steam and am a beta / staging branch tester. The tests that were done focused on gameplay and mechanics to make the game the best it can be. Servers were amazing and flawless.
Until the fire nation attacked.
Now they had to shut them all down for 7 days because they really did NOT stress test to this degree. 400 is one thing 40k is another. On top of that they also released an update to fix logging in during the streamer beta before launch (which means WE didn’t get to test it either) however in doing that they also ddos’d themselves and whenever they took servers down they didn’t stagger their reopenings... which means server goes down, then thousands try to login at the same time again. The server load should have been prioritized and/or staggered so this stuff shouldn’t happen. On a side note though, they are amazing devs so this will get sorted out.

It looks pretty sweet, and the devs are shaking up how clans work to make it more fun for solos and smaller groups. Don't know why glorious rabbi Sam said getting stuck in a clan-owned area sucks, clans are encouraged in mechanics to help solos or at least leave them alone. Check out the devlogs in their steam news if you wanna see why this game has got me hyped (there are videos on youtube but they don't have everything in them.)
