I paid off my debt without leaving the starting town. I went and picked up random items from the storeroom and around the town, which were worth around 5 to 7 silver on their own, and sold it all for money. I actually had 40 silver to spare once I was done, and I hadn't even talked to the gate guard.

Never thought about Outward like this. Truly the IRS’s influence is far reaching. I can’t even escape them by immersing myself in video games, for they’re there too now.
Well, I think real life is much harder than Outward: in Outward when they stick you with that debt, all you have to do is go into the basement, kill 2 trogs, walk out to the beach exit, give a dude a bandage: Done. No money owed, no house seizure, the game is EXTREMELY easy in coop since it doesn't scale anything to the increased potential of having multiple characters facing the situation: In real life if I tell the IRS I got friends helping me pay up they are just gonna want to fuck those guys over aswell.

@@hrafn6588 Tbh, if you have patience for an RPG like Skyrim or Witcher, then Outward is great. Honestly it's a very good game, challenging and rewarding with lots of places/dungeons to explore.
It is a very nice game I'll say. Lots of boring running though. You'd think with how big the maps are there should be an equally large amount of mobs to encounter. The world is amazing, but it does have an empty feeling in some places. If you want an easy experience, look up money making guides and then travel to levant and spend a crap ton of silver on the rogue trainer and learn pressure plate traps and the bag roll passive. You will be using up a breakthrough point, but it is worth it if you think the game is at all challenging. Basically easy mode. You can also make insane builds that can one shot some mobs. The greathammer builds are pretty stronk. Magic is super fun too. Anyone who likes rpgs needs to give this a shot for sure.

Outward is a fantastic game that is overlooked. It has just the right amount of cool stuff without being too complicated and is a genuine challenge and great to play with friends and get into shenanagains.
Some things could be improved sure, but for the most part its a fantastic game.

I've been playing the shit out of Outward for a while now. The game is actually pretty good. The best game to adventure with the homies. It a bit rough around the edges, but is honestly a solid open world RPG. Lots of re-playability, hard as fuck but rewarding, excellent co-op.

@@austinkious3940 old thread but the open world has its charm too. You have to constantly interact with it to get basic supplies to travel, and I thinks that’s overlooked compared to most open world games. That and minimal map markers to encourage navigation, that’s also pretty good.
