Chin up blues fans, I'm a pies member but I really enjoy this channel and am envious of the community you have here on this platform from the fan cams etc. I watch it all the time, came here from swoop and pommy content. Blues will be back, could have gone either way and still a top 4 side easily. The list is crazy good 👍 I remember watching these vids this time last year when everyone thought the world was crashing down and now you're one of the scariest sides and will probably win a flag soon.

On the crowd stuff, from my own perspective and where I was situated Shane Warne Stand lvl 2, the crowd is personnel based, you either have a crack and cheer the boys on or you don't, passive supporters that only get up when it's a close game at the end or maybe after a goal are part of the issue, even as little as a "c'mon Crippa!!!" throughout the game can do wonders, as someone around you will feel the energy and likely follow suit. I like to consider myself a loud and proud supporter, which I was last night, we don't have a collective chant that rolls off the tongue together, similar to what Cooooliiinggwwoooooddd has (as much as I hate to say it), we are missing something universal that can drown out a stadium and opposition supporters. The "Carlton *clap clap clap*" is not it, we should get around it cause we don't have a lot else don't get me wrong, but we need to devise a phrase or word we can collectively silence our rival supporters yet give our boys a lift on the field too. My 2 cents

I’m a Pies man. I’ve watched you before and unlike many shows of this type I find your’s balanced and respectful. I’ve been saying for a couple of years about the Blues that I reckon you’re lacking another key back and a line breaker or two. That’s not to say you can’t win it this year. Reckon Jack Martin is a bigger loss than many people give him credit for.

Just nowhere near as good as we thought we were at the moment. We have to stop comparing ourselves to the back end of last year. We haven’t been that team this year (eg. Lack of pressure) We’ve really felt the losses of those out injured the last two weeks. We had it in our hands when we hit the lead in the last quarter, either step up and bury them and make a statement , or step off and say it’s all too hard. We crapped ourselves and stepped off. We’re just not good enough. Not a top 4 outfit yet

I almost never say the game was lost at selection, but this game was lost at selection. And then again later when Voss moved the magnets around a bit and they fell off the fridge. Your tone reminds me of you doing a review of a 2021 game. The feeling you expressed at the beginning of the Fan Cams was exactly what I was feeling. Seemed like it was all going so well...until it wasn't. Then the wheels came off and there was no getting it back. When I'm watching a game, I often find there's a theme or a leitmotif running through what I'm mumbling to myself or shouting at the screen. This time it was "What happened to...?" What happened to contested football? What happened to proper use of clearances? What happened to ball pressure? What happened to smalls blocking for the talls? What happened to Patrick Cripps? He looked like he was running in molasses all night. Zombie New Dad mode. What happened to the intent to get back into the corridor and using the width of the ground? What happened to the intent to tackle? Although to be fair, it should have been 62 if you count the blatant umpire failures to call obvious HTB/drops. Of course, that was not the difference in the game by any means, but just another element of frustration. What happened to the intent to do a handball march across the field? They used to actually practice that and did it earlier in the season. Flashback to the Teague Era when these boys played down to the level of the opposition and let them dictate terms. And the defensive press is still too high for too long. Drives me crazy. Newman basically a midfielder now, Weitering and Boyd practically HHF, and people wonder why we can't get back at times. No wonder wings are often fullbacks instead of working the corridor. Several new @$$holes better be torn after this, and that includes in the coaching box.
I did not expect Zac Williams to lay an egg like that. Gave the first two goals away singlehandedly, the second one doing exactly what he had just been told was going to get called. And not much good the rest of the time. Young did alright, and I know he's going to be the whipping boy again. But the backline as a whole is an unholy mess and Weitering isn't solving anything by trying to be everywhere. Communication on handover and movement is a disaster. Whose fault is that? Kickouts still a major problem, led to a few goals against once again. Pittonet was fantastic, taking marks, interceptions, blocking, part of handball chains - not his fault his teammates have brain freeze once he drops it in their laps - almost best on ground. That was Acres. Can't say enough about his effort to put the team on his shoulders when no one else was trying to win. He was everywhere all game. He even had an English Premier League goalie moment. Walsh has his head up his @$$ again. But aside from all the negatives, once again we play like cr@p but are within a goal when the opposition does their best. I don't even know what to do with that now.

We are thereabouts and still have a lot of improvement to come.
I prefer losing to the filth now than later in the year or finals.
You dont win flags in May so relax.
Missing pieces in the puzzle are McGovern, Marchbank and Saad. We also look better with Martin and Motlop in as well.

61 inside 50s to 38, 21 tackles to 9 inside our forward 50. They also had 30 more tackles, they just swarmed us, outplayed us and made it a Collingwood game locked in there forward 50 and setup the ground so we couldn’t get it out. Simple, no answers from the coaching staff.

    • @iankearns774
      @iankearns774 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Lost by 6pts and some of those were rushed behinds.
We lost at half back - centre line which is why they had so many inside 50s which we kept rebounding.
Acres and Cottrell need to hold their width on the wing as we got it out but no one to kick it too.
Their wings were always there to slingshot forwards.
It hurts but we were in the game all day. We will get better.

A couple of things really stood out. The most obvious was our decision making and ball use. Second was they outnumbered us in around the forward line, the back line and around the ball. So they ran harder, tackled harder and supported each other better. They deserved to win. We are not far away, but it's hard to know who or what is preventing us taking the next step. Is it cattle, or system?
Either way, that's where we need to improve.

Random thoughts: Similar to Port, we don’t have a plan B. Other teams find the problems and plug the holes (Pies after q1). If our game plan isn’t working, that’s it. Wish they’d train without harry and Charlie as targets, it’s too easy for good opposition teams. That said, Saady, Gov, and Fog probably would’ve changed that game. Our speed/two way running is a problem, so while I understand why Ollie was dropped he comes back in for me. Thought cunners did fine/keeps his spot, he’s important for us, not sure why others can’t see it.

Outside of them just beating us with system - locking it in their attacking half by forcing us to kick long down the line, we gave them a lot of soft goals. Daicos kicks 2 goals running through stoppages unmarked, Maynard gets 2 shots on goal with 0 pressure (kicks 1), we allow Sidebottom and Pendelbury to be free in the 4th qtr?!? Steele Sidebottom… and Scott Pendelbury… have we not been watching footy for the last 15 years? Big games have small margins, and they beat us on system and yet we still could’ve won it. When we won the semi final we forget that Melbourne really had the game sewn up… until they didn’t, because we gave ourselves a chance and took it. Have to execute better when our system isn’t on - and grit out those big game wins. We are still a good team. Let’s not leave the games before the final siren, we aren’t that plastic are we?

It hurts. It should and must hurt. The players need to soak it up and remember it just like Weiters saving that footage from a couple of years ago to drive his performance. We played into their hands by taking on tacklers and trying to find dinky handball targets in congestion. That partly explains their tackle count, even though their pressure was sustained and superior over 4 quarters. In contrast they hesitated to take the central kick too many times. The patchy pressure from our smalls and onballers hurts and we desperately need Fog and Motlop back ASAP. Hopefully Cerra is better with a run under his belt and Govs return is imminent.

We’ve had so many injuries and setbacks and yet no one has put us away. Come on everyone. There are errors and tactical mistakes, but get some perspective Baggers! Collingwood won the premiership last year. Why would we think that a team with so many injuries would have problems, so early in the season. Unfortunately we played worse than last week despite only losing by 6 pts
    - Negated in clearances.
    - beaten in tackles, inside 50s
Even the clearances that we won didn't have the impact unlike the previous games.
When the pressure got intense we went into our shells.
But at least we were more efficient inside 50.
Again you don't win games with 38 inside 50s.
    3 Harry 2 Weitering 1 Walsh.
It was also lost on the selection table as well. Kennedy Sub. Kemp out Young In. But I don't blame those individuals for the losing the game.

Historically they know if they can get into our heads they can take it from us. We just need to be better. Having said that I enjoyed the close game and was glad the boys didn't give up. What cost us was poor decision making and execution of some passages of play under pressure that cost us dearly. We just need to learn from this and plug up the holes in our defence on a consistent basis. I believe though that our gaps are fixable for this season and all is not lost. Go Blues.

The boys looked a little tired last night.. just felt like they were flat footed and didn’t have their usual spark.. Collingwood played better than us.. sadly! we need to find other player avenues to kick our goals.. the Charlie/Harry combo is being exploited by the opposition - a little too predictable unfortunately. I also feel that we’re really working hard to get our goals whereas other teams are finding the goals a lot easier. Devastated but we need to work hard this week, hopefully we get some more of our more experienced players back next week for the Dees, we’ll get back on track we just have to have faith and hopefully the selectors make the right decisions over the next few weeks. GO BLUES 💙💙

As a Collingwood supporter and a woman I would never support bad behaviour from our own fans towards others especially as you said in relation to male violence against women. Great video anyway. Cheer up, Magpie fans felt this way last year after some bad losses. Were we the pretenders or the real deal? You have a great team and sometimes it's down to wanting it badly enough plus a bit of luck. Still don't want you to get a 16th premiership before us but good luck 😂

I also find that you struggle with leadership on the field just someone to settle the team down. But I wouldn't worry your team should finish top 4 but just need to acknowledge where the need to improve stop being so predictable in curnow and makay, and have your leaders lead on the field when it's needed.

I love your stuff Terry but a disagree a little. I think our confidence is way down. We have lost our ability to move the ball fast through the corridor and take sides on. It feels like we have taken a backward step and gone back to kick down the line in hope. Same with our mids- they have gone back to front running unaccountable footy. The anguish on Vossy's face said it all. For mine, Id play Charlie as a high forward to get him in the game more- just when needed and I'd tell Harry, Charlie and TDK to run through any small forward that flys against you- take note Durdin.

Curnow and Cripps need to learn how to play footy and play harder. Cripps is overrated and needs to play forward to gain confidence. He performs poorly in big games. He also needs to play back to get more hard balls and run more. He is soft. His knowledge and smarts are absent. Pendlebury exposed his ordinariness and lax approach. Does he tackle, or is he just waiting to claim the easy low hanging fruit. Curnow doesn’t seem to change much, but there is time for him. He needs to perform in all big matches
