      It’s Bitburger and in Germany it’s a unpopular beer that is produced in big quantities. Regional produced beers from small factories are way better.

  • @edoetschedoetsch
    @edoetschedoetsch หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Hmm. I blew my taste buds out on all the Hazy IPAs and went back to German (European) lagers actually so this was great. My choice these days regardless of price is:
    Warsteiner
    Paulaner (Octoberfest Munchen Lager, not the Marzen, but the regular is great too)
    Weinstephaner
    When price is taken into consideration its Warsteiner and Peroni as I can get them in 12 packs....

      @Squidward_Tikiland หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m drinking a nasty cheap ipa right now and researching what German beer I should get. Is there a cheap-ish go-to German beer with a hint of citrus? Good for drinking a lot?
      EDIT: Warsteiner huh? I’ll have to take a look

    I love that you picked Bitburger as your winner. I don’t know what prices are like where you are, but it’s always one of the least expensive German beers here in Brooklyn - I’m talking seven or eight bucks for a four-pack - and it’s pretty much perfect.

  • @echardcore

    These beers are rarely fresh in my opinion. Just dumped a whole 4pack of one. But when they are fresh, so good.

    Bitburger is my go to "crispy" beer here in Newfoundland Canada. We don't have a lot of German or Czech Pilsners imported here, but Bitburger is by far the best. It even beats out the Pilsner Urquell that ends up on our shelves here. The liquor store also used to stock mini kegs of it that was an incredible value if you were having a house party.

    I've rarely had a German beer bought in the US that was anywhere near like it is fresh in Germany. It was so nice being stationed over there with the military. And a lot of US breweries do mediocre job of brewing German styles like they do in Germany too (a lot having to do with ingredients, water profiles and process). Can't wait for my next trip back to Germany!

  • @stephenatohi
    @stephenatohi หลายเดือนก่อน

    They're all oxidized because they're traveling from Europe. It's just a matter of the level of oxidation. Unless you're ensuring freshness, a comparison panel like this isn't really fair to the breweries in Germany. That's not how Fruh is pronounced, that's not how marzen is pronounced, that's not how Paulaner is pronounced, and that's not how muy bueno is pronounced.

    • @stephenatohi
      @stephenatohi หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@marshallkutyn3043 - Lolz, fair, but you don't feel bad for some of those breweries? They put so much effort into their craft and an expert on the other side of the world is like, "yeah, this one is flabby." Yeah, man. It's oxidzed. It's a helles. They really don't have much hops to hold up to even the smallest amount of oxidation. Or put another way, you just watched the Treehouse dude be overly critical of a breweries beer in an unfair situation, which you were fine with, and then got upset when I was overly critical of the Treehouse dude in a fair situation. The breweries didn't sign up for this critique, the Treehouse dude did by putting his video on a public platform. When breweries send their beer out for competitive tastings, they make sure they stay cold the whole time. Treehouse dude would heartily back me up that beer should stay always stay cold. If he get to drag a beer through the mud because it's in poor condition, I get to drag him through the mud for putting out a video about it.
