Thanks so much for having me on as a guest! I had an awesome time, really enjoyed getting your feedback on my beer, and can't wait to get the video from my side published! Cheers!
I’m the production manager at Admiral Maltings and a fan of this channel. Super stoked to get a shout out! We really love what we do and I feel very humbled to know that we made it into your home brew. ❤❤❤
Great to see 2 of my favorite BrewTubers together! I met Nate in Charlton once and thanked him personally for this channel’s contributions to the homebrew community. If Steve ever does a RI brewery tour, I’ll be sure to seek him out to do the same. Great video!
Thanks for trying my homebrew Nate! Yes that was good old Mount Cook in the background. Hope you guys get the chance to checkout Garage Project while in NZ.
Really honored to be featured in this tasting and glad my samples made it across the pond! Congratulations to all other participants as well! Also - great feedback and I think Nate is spot on - would also like some more sweetness to it as it finishes a bit too dry. The barrel / bourbon character that is present is actual a small amount of bourbon that had a vanilla pod in it for 7 days prior to mixing into the fermenter. This was originally an 8.5 ABV Imperial Stout-ish beer that came out a little weaker than planned. After maturing in the keg for almost a year, some local homebrewers tipped me that freeze destillation was a good way to enhance it, similar to Eisbocks. First I had the Cornelius Keg in a freezing room at my local Brewshop in Trondheim. But it thawed a bit too quickly when moving it inside into my fridge. At that point the ambient temperature had dropped quite a bit, so I simply left it outside my door for a week. This time I was able to thaw it a bit slower and drain a more concentrated beer out, recarbonate and can it! Keep up to good work and cheers! 🍻
Glad you guys enjoyed! I had no idea how it would do across the country! I hop heavy with Nelson, so it must've lost that over the last week. Either way, thanks for the feedback!
Nate your kind and encouraging words to these folks probably means so much more than you realize. Having someone like yourself who is considered the best brewer in the world call your homebrew "phenomenal" must have felt amazing. Loved this video so much!
It's awesome to see you guys supporting Steve, The Apartment Brewer. His channel is awesome, and he seems like a great dude. He's an incredible home brewer as well!
I've been absent from the homebrewing community for a couple of years and I'm just getting back into it. I started back in 2001. People keep saying that homebrewing is dying, but it's absolutely huge still in comparison to even 10 years ago.
Thanks for trying my Dark Lager Nate! To answer your question about fermentation, I pressure fermented at 66deg F using 34/70 dry yeast. I was a bit disappointed to find out that it took over two weeks to get to you though. So much for two day shipping from Hawaii!!
@@treehousebrewcoOh and regarding the labels. Let's just say my parents didn't fully think it through when choosing my middle name. May as well use it to an advantage right? Kind of an inside joke but I would have friends call or text me and say "guess what I got in my mouth?" Anyway, thanks again! Enjoyed the video very much!
I love that you're doing this! Homebrewing is such a cool community and it's awesome to hear feedback from a professional like yourself. I'm currently drinking a winter warmer/scotch ale I brewed a couple months ago! Cheers
This is awesome! I Love seeing Apartment Steve on here! When you do this again, you need to have Mass based Exit 12 Homebrew on. He’d be a great guest!
What a fun surprise seeing Steve on for this video. Also, way to represent fellow homebrewers! Brew on! A great idea for an episode. Would like to see another one of these in the future. 😃
This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen you do Nate. Thanks so much for sharing the tasting. I can imagine with everything you’ve got going on with running that monster it’s gotta be difficult to find time to appreciate what got you started. Big fan of both your channels and please keep up all you do for the best hobby in the world. Cheers! 🍻
Thank you - indeed, a video for context on making the channel is in the queue. Michael devotes everything he's got to filming and editing and I only have minute little windows of time in between running the company and all that comes with it. Everything is off the cuff and it feels like flying blind!
Been watching the Apartment Brewer for a while now! Amazing informative videos! So glad to see you embracing the homebrewing community on youtube. Hope you do this again I wanted to participate but my brew setup is currently down.
Thanks to all the homebrewers for representing the hobby in such a great light. Thanks to Nate and Treehouse for letting the home brew community come together for something like this.
Wow I watched the whole thing. What fun. I do watch the apartment brewer also. BTW I was drinking my homebrew while watching. I most certainly cannot taste all these things you do . But I do enjoy my creations.
Super ! tasting. I found this video through @TheApartmentBrewer video about TreeHouse brewing. Also saw another video about TH brewing pub. Must be good money in NE Hazy IPA's ... 😛But one video said that you and your Team provides an experience, Hospitality ? ... I can really respect that .. tho tend to favor a few pints in my hand and wandering the property. I guess the golf comes before the beers ... 😀
Great video, please do again soon. As a homebrewer, I always appreciate a good Baltic Porter. Unfortunately that style of beer doesn't get the love it deserves!
This was so cool. I love the passion for making the homebrew community feel connected in a new way. I'm sure you are an insanely busy guy, but please keep it going. I love watching brewtubers, but you have been grabbing my attention lately with some awesome and insightful content.
Absolutely loved watching this. As a home brewer myself, those beers look fantastic and delicious. Also realized I need to upgrade my home brewing equipment LOL. Congrats to all and thanks Nate for doing this.
Was a great video. Congratulations to all the brewers looks like they were all good brews. Cant wait till the next round. If i get chosen ill hand deliver from Australia.
Fun vdo! Thanks for doing it! 🙂 Homebrewers are killing it with access to so much information being available! Cheers! Just curious, in this whole wide world, what other countries made submissions?
That’s so cool. Would love to see how Nate is trying my beer 😅. I will be at Treehouse in 2 weeks (flying in from Germany). I just brewed my take on Nate’s homebrew recipe 🍻
@treehousebrewco In fact, there is a can of Julius but it does not appear in the video 😅. Thanks for the opportunity guys and for the next batch there will be more pineapple 🙏🏽
Hi Tree House! Really cool to see you support all these hardworking home brewers. I wanted to let Nate know that he is pronouncing “habanero” slightly wrong. He pronounced it “habañero” as if the n is an ñ like in “jalapeño”. I think it’s easy to assume that both peppers share the same “n” sound, but habanero has an ordinary flat “n” sound. Actually, the h is silent in the original Spanish, but you’d better pronounce the h when saying it in English otherwise it would confuse people. Anyway, that’s just my two cents. Have a good day!
What a cool idea for a video. Appreciate the reviews and thoughtfulness you put into your critiques of beers. Next time you may have a submission from some friends North of the border eh! P.S. Where can I buy that hop lamp for my brew room hah!
Great video! Weird though but it would be cool to see you try a chain brewhouse's beers... BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse if you have them near you! It would be awesome for you to review their lineup!
Awesome video! Such a variety of styles! Are you going to ask for new submissions at some point, or will you be working your way through the people who submitted through the original video? (My husband really wants to send some beer, but wasn't one of the lucky ones to be selected!)
some shared and some didn't. I would prefer that they didn't share with me to be honest, I like the thrill of reverse engineering. didn't really want to share without asking.
@@treehousebrewcoI hear ya. Really enjoyed this video, it’s great to see you take time and invest interest in us peasants(!!) and give advice to get better at our hobby
@mattwilson5383 I may have used the Apartment Brewer Czech Dark Lager as a baseline. I didn't do the decoction mashing but pretty much followed the proportions for the specialty malts. I was also inspired by one of his other videos to try pressure fermentation at ale temps.
Edit: fuggles in the milk stout folks!! thanks one part down Met some other nerds that used to live near you and they said the milk stout was the best beer you make. Can you discuss it sometime soon. or i'll jump to the punch line. How do you make it. recipe or tips. I'm down to guess if needed. Another friend brought back one of your beers, a hazy. It was rich, coating and medium juicy. Hard to finish 5 ounces. I love me some clear beer. Do you make any. Other than pils. Love the content. Homebrewing is making a comeback right now. Because $30 hazy 4 packs have lost their appeal as those kids have moved onto fizzy waters and it shows on the shelves. Half of walmart fizzy stuff if macros. 1/4 seltzer and 1/4 craft. Tough to wiggle into it now a days. Selection is way down.
Thanks so much for having me on as a guest! I had an awesome time, really enjoyed getting your feedback on my beer, and can't wait to get the video from my side published! Cheers!
What a great collab!

Thanks to everyone who submitted their beers! This has been fun to watch
Great video. Steve is awesome. Thanks for having him on!
I brew Steve’s recipes from his channel often. It’s easy to follow along with the process and the beer has so far turned out great!
You had huge balls sending treehouse a NEIPA-- lol. Well done, everyone

Loved seeing everyone's homebrew setup and the Stevey surprise! Cheers to supporting the community!

Normally I’m not a fan of punny beer names, but I’m disappointed Nate didn’t pick up on the Alice In Chains reference with the name of the Helles.

Hey dude who did the Helles, that means you have to drop the recipe and process in the comments.

This is such a minor note but I think a deeper focal length on the wide shot would be nice, as it is the beers are all slightly out of focus!
