All of these trap doors the Argentine President is aware of and fixing is what fixing tag he financial system looks like, patience and courage Argentina. The only flaw is dollarization, the USA Central Bank has wrecked the dollar value and loaded Americans with debt to finance the repeated bank bail outs.
He uses dollarization as a shorthand term. Dollar would get some play, but eventually Argentines would prefer something harder. One step at a time though.
Problems in the US won’t affect Argentina just because of the use of USD. Argentina can offer any interest rate it wants… Bitcoin might also play a part?
He wants a free currency competition, but the State has to collect revenues in a single currency. Also, he wants it for two reasons: First, to avoid that further administrations can print money to fund their budgets Second, to allow the circulation of billions of dollars outside of the financial system and saved by citizens in physical bills, without being taxed or audited.
Turning off after 12mine. Reporter either does not listen, does not comprehend what Milei is explaining to him or is just out for gotcha clips with his questions. Ridiculous.
Where was the question 🙋 about bitcoin? Just by listening to this guy talk you know that he knows his stuff. He’s not a politician but an architect for new Argentine.
The Bloomberg chappie doesn't seem stupid. He seems to have prepared well, and comes up with relevant questions. Still, Millei completely outshines his interrogator. What an economically giant intellect. Cometh the hour ....
People like him, that want to change things for the better for the whole population, usually get eliminated rather quickly by the corrupt "elites". I hope his fate is different, he seems to be doing great things for his country and its peoples.
Milei's government has an anti-corruption brigade headed by minister Sandra Pettovello, and they're doing major work in that front, since the institutionalized corruption is of course, fault of the 20 years of previous populist governments. I'm from Argentina and I kid you not, every single day there's a new corruption case being unveiled. It's a slow process but trust me, I know what you mean, it's that corruption and political clientelism which has held the country back despite having massive resources, both natural and in human capital.
The central bank printing money is stealing!👏 They are anxiously waiting for him to fail...he doesn't fit the one world oder. Wishing Argentina success!
Very rare to listen to an interview where a world leader clearly knows more about economics than a bona fide financial journalist. Great interview, thank you Bloomberg.
That’s really hard to do in a democracy with that population. THe average IQ is rather low, many people are leftists, and many people want to cheat (both ordinary people and people in power).
I am definitely rooting for Milei and the prosperity of Argentina. He is an absolute HERO, and the people that voted for him are are absolute heroes for willing to brave the sacrifice of austerity in the short term, for the potential of a much brighter future. Argentina could really be the torch bearer of freedom in the future if the US continues to elect leaders that push the woke agenda of communism, censorship, authoritarianism, and anti-critical thinking (aka the "progressives" (really should be called the regressives)/democrats)
Bloomberg still represents Americans Governments values, so if youre confused about the bad interview its because it reflects poorly on American powers when Milei is successful, more people are going to ask "Why arent we doing this?" "Why cant we accomplish this if he can?" So bloomberg has an investment in asking childish questions like "Why isnt everything fixed yet" "arent people sad they cant get free stuff recently and destroy the country further?"
The key to healthy prosperity has always been an industrious population with enough income to encourage them to make a better life for themselves. That is the foundation meat and potatoes of it. Without this there will be no getting anywhere.
We have tried that for over 70 years (with our government running constant fiscal deficits, financed by sovereign debt and money printing) and it hasn't been working out... Without a stable economy all of that falls apart.

Today, Milei is making my prediction real. My hopes are for Argentina and that the United States is listening. Ándale!
Argentina is lucky to have China willing to work with them on the trade. Milei should have stopped dollarization. The U.S. dollar is not useful in the Global South because it is declined in value.
The dollarization is already there, people choose U.S. dollars to avoid loosing savings... Milei will kill the forced course or compulsory coin so people will use the coin they want to trade.

I admire President Milei and I wish there were ways that we could help him and Argentina to become the success story that it truly deserves. Argentina is buried under mountains of layers of bureaucracy and I believe Argentina needs legal, economic and other structural reforms. I believe the majority of the Argentineans who elected President Milei truly feel the need for structural changes.
Why did he say this is an experiment? US of A was mostly Free market economy 17-1800s BEFORE central bank, irs, Roosevelt’s new deal, Keynesian economics, etc.
I have half a mind that Milei's 'dollarization' platform was, to a significant degree a rhetorical political strategy with an eye to getting elected. Why do I say this? How could an orthodox Austrian want to import a currency and monetary regime (that of the U.S.) that has been based for years, at least until the recent tightening, on excessive credit expansion? Wouldn't such an economist and technocrat vastly prefer a gradual process where a sovereign currency in the form of a strong Argentine peso was established, such that saving, investment, capital accumulation, productivity growth, and real wage growth were all optimally incentivized (as opposed to consumption and malinvestment)?
@@adamjensen6254 Thanks. That's more or less what I figured. But if he wants currency competition, I think Argentina should hope the peso wins and not the dollar in the long run. But perhaps Milei views "dollarization" this way also, ironically.

Argentina, once the richest country in the world, has fallen into poverty thanks to the welfare state and collectivism. Hopefully, the structural changes that are yet to come will put an end to the misery the left and statists have created.

Milei is working hard to stabilise argentinian economy. He will succeed
🤣
Yes, he can sell cow meet to india 😂
And in case he doesn't, he at least didn't make it worse and took the first steps necessary for recovery..
God Bless You And Argentina And All The Citizens Of Argentina.
The question is why instead of just doing sound macroeconomic policy (which is what he's trying now), that would deal with inflation and low growth, he needs to adopt this whole absurd libertarian worldview.
I love this guy he knows his shit and his heart is in the right place....
100%
Milei is delivering. Not only that... he's exceeding all western governments in competence. Buy Argentina now. he's already performed amazingly and has served all people of Argentina, even those who do not understand it, very well in his roughly 100 days in office. Give it time. I wish more western leaders would act like he does. would tremendously benefit everyone in the west. (not an opinion btw)

Absolutely excellent translation!! Miley speaks fast and complex but translator not only kept up but simplified making the conversation easier to comprehend
Cant believe bloomberg translated his speech and not used subtitles.
There are subtitles that you can turn on that aren't auto-generated.
@@rusaccord its better to have the original audio in spanish.
@@rodolphodecastrorodrigues7457 I misunderstood what you mean. I agree, the original audio should have been left alone.
That is the fact... I would prefer to believe even in the devil instead of bloomberg...
When bloomberg says something, I prefer to believe in the other site.
Mr. Miley is a real hero, he is not only fighting for Argentina's freedom, but he also fights for decence, moral values, ethics, science and good life standards and well being for the people.
Ha Ha, you got it, it's called freedom and democracy, to manipulate the audience
It would be interesting to see how many heads of states could answer the questions he was asked... I don't think many could answer complicated, advanced economic, financial and monetary policy questions.
Te amo Milei, jamas pensé empatizar con un político, sos el Salvador de nuestro país, todos los argentinos de bien te amamos, te queremos presidente para siempre 🇦🇷🥹🙌🏼
Milei seemed brilliant both economically and politically. I’m not knowledgeable at either but from what he’s saying I feel he knows his stuff
Yes, he does.
Economically he is outstanding.
Politically remains to be seen…
Fighting the corruption in Argentina will not be easy…
He’s marginal, he will destroy the country. He’s not brilliant, he’s crazy. People are dying, by suicide, dengue, and rare diseases to which the government used to provide medicines that are unpayable for any Argentinian (as much as us$17,000 every two weeks)
@@whowhy9023 For him it will be trial by results. If he gets his majority he is a political genius. Otherwise he is a fool who wasted his opportunity by being an ideologue and burning bridges.
I think so, too. But he has to be careful and that why he has to go step by step.
Best of hopes and wishes.. To Argentina!! Make your country how you want it. Canada is good to trade with too. Support communist ways... keeps them in power... pretty simple. I might be wrong.. anyone is fallible... me too... but.. .why do I get the sense this guy is truly honest in his "focus and effort". Make Argentina Awesome! Yes!!
Canada is a collectivist dictatorship.
He was right about the West going to far down the Collectivism route.
He's a CIA asset
Yeah it's bad that some countries try to take care of its citizens!
@@rogerforsman5064 How so? Oligarchies and hyper capitalist countries don't care about their citizens...this is 2024 brother, avoid fairytales
I like the fact that when he speaks he moves his hands indicating that he has in his mind and in his eyes in front of him all the equations, graphs, cash flow, assets, liabilities and understands how all these are connected with each other and where to tweak the weights to so the output to be what he desires!!! brilliant mind!!
my president! 🤩. GO MILEI GO !!!!
He’s WAY better than Trump
Oh God no comparison!
And Biden.
Neither are high bars…😂
Agreed. There is a massive gap between "The governmental structures are not working society and have caused many problems we are facing so lets radically change the system." compared to "The governmental structures are not working for me and have caused many of the problems I am facing so lets radically change the system."
No tf he's not. He's a CIA asset looking to sell his country to America. Gdam y'all are r3tarded. The liberalized Asians are especially pathetic. Your sister has a white bf
@@ashrichman9956 of course no comparison. Trump says his enemy is the "Deep State", Milei says his enemy is the State.
Still, a huge compliment to Bloomberg for this very free ranging interview that at the same time asks relevant and challenging questions, as allows Millei to answer them in a sufficiency of time.
I want to believe you Senor Millei , even if I do not understand everything
That's a beginning. Go forward to learn what he's talking about.
All of these trap doors the Argentine President is aware of and fixing is what fixing tag he financial system looks like, patience and courage Argentina. The only flaw is dollarization, the USA Central Bank has wrecked the dollar value and loaded Americans with debt to finance the repeated bank bail outs.
He doesnt want to dollarize, just free the use of different fiat coins
@@juanarkantos freedom of currency!
Also, he wants it for two reasons:
First, to avoid that further administrations can print money to fund their budgets
Second, to allow the circulation of billions of dollars outside of the financial system and saved by citizens in physical bills, without being taxed or audited.
He defoe understands macro better than most…
Milei for US president!
We can but dream…😂
Nayib Bukele or Pierre Poilievre would work wonder here too.
Lol
Killary will probably get him suicided. Milei would actually drain the swamp.
Wishing him great success!
My previous comments were censured...😂
Turning off after 12mine. Reporter either does not listen, does not comprehend what Milei is explaining to him or is just out for gotcha clips with his questions. Ridiculous.
The Bloomberg reporter is their to promote his talking points (agenda) and is not listening to Milei. Typical journo shill.
Guy knows all the stats without having any notes. Guy is going to save Argentina!
While he is right on currency competition, geopolitical forces are against that line of thinking
People like him, that want to change things for the better for the whole population, usually get eliminated rather quickly by the corrupt "elites".
I hope his fate is different, he seems to be doing great things for his country and its peoples.
Corruption is mysteriously left out of this video. Very difficult to get any business done as a foreigner, very slow and expensive.
Economic liberalization is the cure for that
Give an example.
The central bank printing money is stealing!👏
They are anxiously waiting for him to fail...he doesn't fit the one world oder.
Wishing Argentina success!
Removing regulations also removes corruption.
There is a lot to do….
Very rare to listen to an interview where a world leader clearly knows more about economics than a bona fide financial journalist. Great interview, thank you Bloomberg.
Milei ❤🦁💪
Javier Milei was born for this! Viva Milei
this makes me truly happy
Makes me want to move there.
Make Argentina Great Again!
won't happen.
When I saw a video of Milei flying economy I loved him
Highly impressed by Milei. I hope you get your country in order. Greetings from Sweden.
Nayib Bukele and Javier Milei are the hope for Latin America. God bless them. Incredible leaders.
Melei is amazing! We need him in America!
ain't it easier and more reliable to put subtitles instead of dubbing??
The key to healthy prosperity has always been an industrious population with enough income to encourage them to make a better life for themselves. That is the foundation meat and potatoes of it. Without this there will be no getting anywhere.
We have tried that for over 70 years (with our government running constant fiscal deficits, financed by sovereign debt and money printing) and it hasn't been working out... Without a stable economy all of that falls apart.
We've been in economic downfall since 1949 and Milei has been in office for 100 days. Just take time to make the math
It looks as if the translation was done on the fly. Couldn't you write it down, translate it and then put an effort to put some flow into it? You are having a technical guy and most of the message is lost in the rushed dubbing
Wow. He dumped the central bank and called them thieves. Dear Lord protect this man!
Viva Argentina! Viva Milei !

Milei is a great 🇦🇷 Argentine president.
He decouples from China and sincerely cares about his country's economy, a good combination.
Why is the economy in the drain?

think about 90% poverty
milei took office with poverty at 48%, sure the adjustments are difficult but they were the best possible course of action, now if the legislators would just pass labor reforms then investment would kick in and wages will rise... but unfortunately the caste want to keep milking the state so they'll try an make people as miserable as possible in the hope they turn on milei
if the people can support milei until the polticial caste are kicked in the 2025 election then argentina would turn into a resource super power, oil, gas, copper, lithium, argiculture, it goes on.. but without investment and skill it'll stay in the ground while incompetence public sector do nothing with it

I am a United States expat who arrived Argentina 20 years ago and am a permanent foreign resident. My opinion is when President Milei speaks it is the sound of hope coming out of the darkness. During a newspaper interview soon after my arrival in Argentina, I predicted the the United States could learn the politics of economics from Argentina. Most people laughed at me. Today, Milei is making my prediction real. My hopes are for Argentina and that the United States is listening. Ándale!
You 're a prophet
Economic investigator Frank G Melbourne Australia is following this informative content cheers Frank
Thanks for interviewing him and translating too.
Dollar is far from perfect but it is way better than the CCP's currency
Best president of any nation this decade. So envious…
Mr Milei would have My vote . In fact right now in the country i live, I would support His actions to bring australia out of the guaranteed RECESSION facing Us in the not too distant future . Bravo Sir 🦘☮️
Bloomberg, give the guy some credit because we see improvements and he has only been in 3 months. He took over a disaster and the ship is starting to turn in such a short time, and you demand more, quicker? Seems to me like you want him to fail. Shame on you. Can't you just celebrate his success?
Putting a live translation on a youtube video is extremely stupid. Make some proper subtitles and upload with original audio ffs.
Milei Is honest and brillant!
Argentina is now in good hands. Given a chance he will turn Argentina into an economic powerhouse
GO Milei!!!!! As an Ameican, I support your efforts to help your country do better. I hope one day soon to visit Argentina.
The translation is bad! How do you interview a president of a country and don't make all the efforts to get a good translator???
Why did he say this is an experiment?

there is a saying... people that like to seat at the edge of the chair live on the edge of life...iam holding the thumbs for argentina..
he sounds like a much more capable leader than the American options.
letting average politicians run your economy is like letting your bus driver do complex surgery.
USD is the obvious choice.
When your inflation is 200% USD inflation at ~3% seems rather utopian.😂😂
US central bank won’t worry Argentina.
@@whowhy9023 Milei's whole objective is to smash hyperinflation. If Austrian economics is correct AND Milei gets the reforms he wants, my point is that the peso could become better than the dollar by the time the currency competition resulted in a winner. But your point is obviously taken.
@@whowhy9023 also, it's not obvious to me that official cpi stats tell the whole picture of what inflation is. The world has never seen the counterfactual of what would happen if you could get undistorted supply and demand for money.
