Great review!! We really like to hear what the anglers are thinking and how they are using the rods.
If I don't catch fish that day I know what the "mf" stands for
Another Great review! Keep it up
I have the 5ft ultralight paired with a size 20 Pfluger president it's great for creek fishing.
I have the same exact set up but 6ft ultralight and it is my go to for mini cranks.
Rocking the St Croix triump 6'6" medium fast action with a daiwa regal LT, $$$
Been running the 6x6. M/F 2piece with DIAWA FUEGO 2500 with 30lb braid
Have a 6'6 light st croix and I LOVE that rod!
Just bought a 5’6 ultra light st Croix
Great review, ever think about reviewing the new stradic fm reel?
If I get my hands on it I will👍🏽
i have many st croix rods, most are UL version in several lines. They are very sensitive. I like to test out sensitivity rods in stores by lightly running the tip along the carpet floor and feel reactions in the grip. Im wondering if your critique on this particular rod is influenced by its heavier action? Nice video again
It could be influenced, for sure. I will say that compared to OTHER medium action rods it still feels a bit heavy tho
I have this rod with a penn battle 3 1000 and omg it is AMAZING
Killer setup!
Good review.
Not understanding the real difference between standard Triumph vs the Triumph Inshore.
Thoughts?
I’m not sure off the top, but I would check their website. Most brands are pretty good at labeling the differences on each product
I have this rod it is trash when it comes to the spindle that you secure the reel with i am left handed so when i catch a fish my hand unwinds the nut so i am winding it and trying to land a fish mind you i have my hand up to my pinky finger holding the reel butl i am 6'8" i may have change to a different rod ive caught plenty fish with it tho.
I have a 6' 6" medium power, fast action spinning paired with a Shimano Sahara 2500. As a bank angler, I love it.
That's an awesome combo dude, love it. Appreciate the comment
I just got a cork handle ugly stick 70$ rod and then a new ugly stick carbon rod and I feel like to me they are sensitive and made to last I just recently had a 160$ duckett rod break ten inches off the tip while I had a pound and half at best fish already landed in the boat
With sensitivity you often trade durability. Finding those rods with the sweet spot are key!
Thanks yeah I think I find that with the more expensive ugly sticks I mean I had a 45$ one I just used for catfishing and noticed I caught 3 catfish the size of my finger cause I was able to feel something that small nibbling on it so that’s for me one reason I just decided when my 2nd falcon rod just bit the dust in the past four years I’ve had the duckett rod and 2 falcon rods and 13 fishing rod and a favorite rod all break fairly easily and were 100$ or more too and didn’t make it 3 trips
MH/heavy good for catfish rod.
Good to know!
I actually just picked a 7ft medium light up to be my drop shot rod. Paired with a Daiwa Regal LT 2500 with 10lb J-Braid
Took it out on the Grand Traverse Bay yesterday. Tied YOUR DS knot with a Senko 3 inch shad.
We were in about 30ft of water a couple hundred yards off of an island.
Great Laker (according to my brother in Law) snatched it. I about crapped my pants when the rod started bending in half. But it held up. The Laker came up under the other side of the boat and broke me off.
So I can testify to the durability of this rod.
I was also casting an absolute mile off of the boat. Which is good, because I primarily fish from shore.
Yah dude these rods are crazy. Thanks for the story!
Still a good rod, but these days there's actually better and even maybe a little cheaper.
