In Winchester, England, in what is now an Anglican cathedral, is a beautiful gold-hued statue of St Joan erected after her canonisation in 1923. She faces the ostentatious tomb of Bishop Beaufort, who was among those church authorities who condemned her. He was little loved, even by his own flock. Elevated on a pedestal, Joan stands triumphant, eyes raised in prayer, sword pointing heavenward. In the base of her statue rests a stone said to be taken from her prison cell in Rouen, Normandy. The cathedral is a must-see for many other reasons too.

Fr. Chris, thank you for choosing this very special story of St. Joan of Arc where her virtues stand out for us to imitate to do something in our modern world disfigured by false teachings and beliefs. You really know what would help us think and act with fortitude, obedience, etc. in our defence. I love what she says,” All battles are first won or lost, in the minds.” This is genuinely true, if our minds are set to do something inspires by God, we’ll surely win, but if our minds are disturbed and refused to do it, then we lost. This happens so many times in our daily struggles and battles to succeed. It’s a day by day practice and training of one’s courage, obedience, faith and humility in doing small things first before we’re ready to do great ones like St. Joan of Arc. By God’s grace, we can make it, be not afraid. God bless you Fr. Chris and thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

My confirmation sponsor always told me “Our Lady and Saint Joan are always so near you.”

St. Joan of Arc, please intercede and pray for the United States. Stand by America and ask the Holy Father to expose the corrupt leaders of our nation who are busy filling their pockets with wealth and pretending to be concerned about the nation's and worlds future. Remove the wickedness from our beloved country's government. Help us bring the true faith and church back to the forefront of the American way of life. Jesus, I trust in you. Mark Twain's time was well spent. Winston Churchill also rightly praised Joan of Arc.
It seems a misunderstanding for transgenders to praise Joan of Arc for crossdressing when in actuality she was "hiding her virginity" by wearing men's armor.
It becomes even stranger when people praise her sexuality's but in reality Joan of Arc was chasing away prostitutes with her sword.
Apparently this doesn't make it past most 'feminist narratives'.

Fr Alar and all the Fr’s there at Devine mercy. Just a note I’m still not Catholic
I seen the movie Jone of arc when I was very young her story stuck with me. For years I have tried to find the movie and couldn’t
We need more movies made like the one about Jone. Also remember the flying Nun I don’t know how the Catholic Church felt about that series but I remember I wanted to be a nun I haven’t thought about that for so many years and the same with the sound of music. It’s so interesting to me now to remember also saying to my mum I want to be a nun and the family laughing at me. Oh how I haven’t thought about that for so many years. Now when I feel pulled to the Catholic Church makes me sad I didn’t get to wile shock that God put his church in my heart all those years ago. Well I’m a Mum now and loving being a mum my kids have disabilities so I don’t get to leave the house much so kind of like a Nun 😊 I’m serving my kids daily and they are grown. Makes me feel even closer to God that he found a way for me to still be at service to others even if my own kids. I think I’ll have an extra smile tomorrow and a happy soul

The call for prayers for France and for our own country reminds me of the need for what I call a web of prayer. Evil struggles to affect areas where people pray for each other. If not just France, but everyone prays for it, then it gets lots of protection. Likewise, if they pray for us, we get lots of protection. It's what I like about the way your order prays for so many people.
In pro-life activities, I encourage people who are outside of a PP site (that doesn't do surgical or pill-based abortions) to pray for places that do. God will still be present here, while also acting on our prayers for those other places. It feels like I'm cheating with such prayer, since I make God act in two places at once. But if everyone does that, it is very protective and fruitful.

St. Joan is my Confirmation saint. I chose her because I was born with heart disease and have had to be a "soldier" in my own way for almost 30 years. I also read somewhere that she was a protectress of those who do courageous things. Also, I completely agree with the coach who made the hockey players go to Mass before each game. Nowadays, hockey players are torn apart if they refuse to wear the Pride warm up jerseys that teams wear for a game. We definitely need more people, especially young women like myself, who have Joan's modesty, chastity and who are not afraid to stand up for their faith.

When the English troops left one early morning, they had realized at last, they were in need of many more troops for an effective siege in Orléans...
Then, Joan of Arc marched towards the centre of Orléans, the famous Scottish
Robert the Bruce March (Scots Wha Hae) was playing in honor of the Scots. Today, many believes that without Scotland, 15th century France' aristocracy would have probably evolved quite differently .

Beautiful talk, Father. It is, to me, also no coincidence that of all the European countries, it is the French people who have, relentlessly and without care for personal cost, continued protesting in the streets, in the public places, etc., for the past four years - and even prior. There are lessons to be learned, here, from the old saying, “put your money where is your mouth”, or as my Spiritual director would say, we need to “put our bodies where are mouths are, like the Great Saints”, such as the Maid of Orleans. A manly courage that is waning from our world, but will emerge, soon, as you say, Father.

Fr. Alar, both me and my wife absolutely love the information and message you share and we believe you are doing God's work, but just a simple suggestion, can you leave your rebuttals to naysayers out of your talks? Every time you take time out of your great educational talks to address your haters it takes away from your message. The people who know you are a true servant of God don't need to hear your justifications of why you're saying what you're saying. Just preach the good news and let the ignorant think what they want. Maybe you could do an entire talk just for the haters and save the educational material for those of us who actually want to learn. Just a suggestion. We love you and pray for you. Thank you for everything you do. May peace always be with your spirit.

France was made up of Principalities, William the Conqueror (William of Normandy) invaded England in 1066.
He still had lands in France. As you said, Father Chris, by marriage, some other connections were made. Over the years, lands came under English rule, and were lost again to French Dukes, and Princes. Very complicated.

During the lifetime of Joan of Arc (Jehanne la Pucelle) both the Church of England and France were Roman Catholic ! The patron saint in France was Michael the Archangel and English troops patron saint was Gabriel the Archangel !!

BTW, the bishop who put her on trial (Pierre Cauchon) was even worse than this video describes: he had been convicted in 1414 by a secular judge for helping to goad a mob to attack the Royal prison in Paris during the Cabochien Revolt; he was sent by the Duke of Burgundy to bribe officials at the Council of Constance in 1418; and he only got to be a bishop (in 1420) because the English government pushed his nomination. Eyewitnesses who were at Joan of Arc's trial later said that he corrupted the trial just as he had corrupted so many other things. A few years later, he was one of the radical clergy who refused to disband the Council of Basel when Pope Eugenius IV ordered it shut down, and he then proceeded to try to replace Eugenius with the ex-Duke of Savoy, Amadeus VIII (which didn't work since Amadeus finally agreed to become a Cardinal instead).

Father Chris, stay political!!!! We are counting on you to say the bold and necessary things you do that other in the religious life are too cowardly to pronounce. DO NOT pay any mind to the letters you get from weak, liberal Catholics in name only who are scolding you for making social and political statements. They are part of the problem. YOU are part of the solution. We love and support you. Thank you. 💟✝️💟

Fr. Chris I liked watching and listening to your talk about St. Joan of Arc. I watched it after I got home from the Saturday vigil Mass.
I might need some prayers because I thought I was dressed warm enough while walking to the Church which is actually four blocks from my apartment building. Two of the Church windows were later opened but it's not too hot outside only 18°C with some wind. In saying this my asthma might have been aggravated somewhat. This time of year can still be tricky. Heat with a high humidity is what helps keep my asthma under control. I'm still praying for your parents as well. God bless you now and always.

There's a scifi novella inspired by Joan of Arc by Cordwainer Smith. I cry every time I read it. The bizarrely titled "The Dead Lady of Clowntown" about the martyrdom of D'Joan an artificial human with no rights, and how her death sets off "The Rediscovery of Man".
Part of which is the rebirth of religion esp. the "Old Strong Religion" with its "Sign of the Fish" and worship in secret in catacombs.
Its a shame Smith died so young, he never finished his future history, which was building up to a high church revival. As he was also moving towards high church anglicanism.

I think your correct about more than I can list and only wrong about God blessing USA as I know The USA is no better than Babylon at its worst as I live in Babylonian exile due to “blood purity laws” put upon Hawaiians, America doesn’t even acknowledge Hawaiian is a Nationality while Kanaka Maoli is the race of the original Hawaiians, I believe Hawaii will be freed from American tyranny by God in my life. I know justice as Christ taught me and I know American politicians know it not
