I'd like to say just THANK YOU for these talks. Unfortunately in my parish there is not much of faith formation nor does our priest preach on the Gospel too much on Sundays. I pray for him and all priest who have difficulties. These talks come like a drink of fresh water. We yearn so much to learn and grow more in our beautiful faith. Honestly I am tired of not hearing the truth and being preached to so softly. I don't want to offend our priests God bless them but we need more who are not afraid to speak truths. Lord help us

In my parish, most parishioners are Spanish speaking, therefore, everything is geared towards them. The Pastor is Latin-American, therefore, he avoids the English Mass because he is self conscious and prefers to deal with Latinos. He is also very into the whole charismatic movement which I personally despise because it makes the priest the center of attention. Mind you, I am Cuban born, read and write both languages fluently. But it’s unfair since it was the American parishioners that built that parish and are now second-class citizens. All functions are in Spanish. Foods served are all Central American fare. Mostly every single apostolate is in Spanish. I’m appalled!
Totally agree, all my prayers and actions to help the Church seems to go unanswered. Feel like we are losing. Yea, God will win, but probably not in my lifetime. I'm 65. I thought we were wining when Trump was is in, now we're on a ROCKET TO HELL with BIDEN.

I can’t have enough of Fr Chris’ Explaining the Faith series, and this one about the Holy Spirit interests me so much, that listening over and over again makes it more and more imbedded in my thought and heart, and, of being MORE in LOVE with the HOLY SPIRIT, the Spouse of our Most Holy Mother Mary, whose compassionate Heart embraces us all because, she gave Birth to JESUS OUR SAVIOR!!! 🙏

This comment is for Father Chris Alar. You truly are amazing. You have inspired me in ways I never thought possible. I don't even know how I found you but I believe it was miraculous intervention. I had stopped attending church and receiving the sacraments about 30 to 35 years ago. However, I started saying the rosary a while back and I started feeling a strong pull to go back to church. So I called my ex-husband, who though we are divorced, is still my best friend in the whole world. I asked him to go to church with me on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday and of course he did. Yesterday, after all those years, I went to Confession. I am so filled with joy. I know that strong pull to go back to church was Jesus himself. I can't begin to tell you Father Chris, how your words inspire! You so eloquently speak God's word and it becomes alive! I feel like God sent you to me, to save me. I am so blessed. Please continue to talk to us. God's plans for his people are there if we just open our ears and listen. God bless you Father Chris. I thank God He gave you to us, His people. Please be safe and know you are loved so much by God and His people.!

Yes, just had that same experience happen to me. Been a lukewarm catholic like many growing up and taken to church when I was a child. A lot about the Catholic church wasn't really explained to me as a kid and being taken to other churches didn't help that much either. But recently I was watching Ghost Stories which lead to exorcist stories, NDE's, and conversation stories. After listening those Priests talk about the power of Jesus Christ in those stories I felt the urge to go back to church and to confess my sins. They explained the sacrament of giving a heart felt confession and it just happened to be lent, the time for repenting. Had to go to a open confession event because of work times, where they brought a ton of Priests for everyone. Before even going up the priests in the line I felt something over us, this church had a massive crucifix above the altar. After giving that heartfelt cry intense confession and when going home I felt the joy over take me and I couldn't explain why I was so happy.It really confirmed Jesus Christ in my heart and he had forgiving my sins that day. I now began the prayer life and try my best talk to god everyday to thank him. Peace be with you all.
Just found this 3 years later in 2024 and I thank you so much for this and other talks. The Holy Spirit has been working on me! Praise be to God! 🙏🏽

Thank you, Fr. Alar! I was born in 1957 and therefore experienced many changes in the Catholic Church. After 8 years of Catholic School, I was adrift. I gave up trying to keep up and my focus became centered on my life here on earth rather than on eternity. In the past 5 years, I’ve set my priorities straight. I live in the UK and over the years experienced many weak homilies and poorly prepared sermons. One priest used a book of prepared sermons for every Sunday, which I suppose is better than nothing!

I had always seen Him as Punishing Machine”. Please absolve me for ignoring the precious gift of that Father and the Son! I did not watch this live, so I am just watching a few hours later. Father Chris, you are just asking us if we ever call call on God to help us get over our sons; to make us holy. Yea I do but WOW- you said we should ask the Holy Spirit to make us holy.... He is the sanctifier. I never thought of or knew that 🤦♀️. I am so excited to now ask the Holy Spirit to help me. "Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 The Holy Spirit was sent to be our helper and comforter. Only with a true, heartfelt belief that Jesus lived, died, (removed from the cross) was buried, resurrected, and now lives at the right hand of God, can you live by faith. The Bible says, when you believe these things and accept His gift of grace, which is eternal salvation, you will be saved. Baptism and good works, without a faithful relationship with Jesus, will not save you. Baptism is a symbolic gesture to your community that you have repented of your sins and have faith that Jesus alone saves.

Hi Father Chris, I’m continuing to catch up. I loved all of this information. I’m personally getting to know the Holy Spirit since I began reading 33 DAYS TO MORNING GLORY. You sparked a beautiful memory for me yesterday when you spoke of one of the symbols of the Holy Spirit is the wind. I remember watching the funeral of Saint Pope John Paul II, and all of a sudden the wind in Piazza San Pietro was stirring wildly as the crowd gathered began to shout “SANTO SUBITO”. (Sainthood immediately). Thanks for sparking such a great memory. I got to see him twice. Once was on his first US trip, when he landed in Boston, and he had to travel on local streets. The next was in 1999, from the window at a general audience in Piazza San Pietro. He was beyond the greatest. (Although, the Italian-American community of my mom’s generation was initially a bit disappointed upon his election, first non-Italian Pope in how many years?, but they warmed up to him quickly). I’m wrapping up, Day 32, reading about him today, and no coincidences with God, you’re speaking on Marian Consecration today. You and your intentions continue to be in my prayers, Father Chris. May God bless and protect you always.

I was confirmed as a baby, went to the classes, but they didn't let me go through the ceremony because I was already confirmed.
