Sound like a mixer (plugin) inside a mixer (daw), not really sure about this workflow .. Can't they make it to control the same fader/pan pot of the DAW .. I don't know if technology like ARA could help with that.
I dont think thats what they were trying to accomplish with this software (control the same fader/pan pot of the DAW). Its really an emulation of the way consoles work in the past before they incorporated control surfaces. Consoles didn't control the faders/pan knobs of a DAW because they are not control surfaces. Remember, these boards were before Sound Tools (now Pro Tools). The nostalgia of these types of software (plugins) may not be as intuitive by today's generation of engineers.
@@cyorkgo My friend I work on whats so called a `real console` every day. There is two ways to mix on a real console, use it as a monitor controller (only 2 return channels from PT) or lay down each channel from PT into the console, now in each way the workflow is totally different .. one that you need a mouse/screen all the time and the other one you don't need to look at your screen at all! ... Anyway back to my point, if you have a mono channel how will you pan this mono channel from CLAmixhub? In this case you will need to use the DAW pan pot, the same goes for the duplicated faders. maybe you can use them to automate but they're useless for balance work.

At 3:15 you said having the 'Line' at the default 12 O'Clock position sounds very clean and therefore to introduce the colour characteristic of the console's preamp, you applied some mic-pre gain. What I did not understand is the reason to turn down the Line encoder. Why did you have to turn it down- as though the resultant gain would be the sum of the gain setting on the Mic and the Line encoder. Don't the Line and Mic work only one at a time? I mean if the signal is Mic Level you use the Mic pre and the Line section is disabled, and vice versa? Or am I mistaken to think so? You reducing the Line level seemed like compensation to account for the increase in the level through the Mic encoder. Please explain.
I tried the plugin, it is very strange - the line and mic knobs are both active at the same time. Not like the hardware works. I think it's kinda wrong and shouldn't be structured like that
Any of you saying that Waves missed the boat by not having pan, mute and solo are missing the point. All summing, panning, mute, solo and busses still happen on a channel by channel basis in your DAW and are easily visible and usable from your mix window. The workflow of controlling eq, setting dynamics/gates on 8 channels at a time (64 really with one button click) will save you SO much time. Also being able to see things like all of your tom eq's or all of your guitar eq's can help you quickly see what you are doing to similar channels and move through making decisions much more quickly. I think this plugin and workflow are brilliant.

I just noticed that he was adjusting EQ with on/off button in the off position. I realized it when he started cranking up the HF on the overheads and nothing changed and he said "Nice"... LOL
I just use the CLA MIXHUB bus plugin which is the emulation of CL SSL desk master bus that in itself is an amazing emulation and you can use the CLA MIXbus as multiple instances, its not a one off plugin for the master bus only. So you can use it for drum bus, guitar bus etc, and on the master bus without using the buckets. Or use the buckets just for the "MIC" per channel to add harmonic distortions. My point is you don't need to go the full hog mix within a mix, just utilize some things especially if you are working on 100 or more tracks. This emulator in my experience provides the highs sweetening octave harmonics, the mids separation, and the low mid to low "feeling it" I can hear and feel what around 200hz is doing to the snare at 1db boost in BELL mode.
