Hi Sam, this is not just in your UK army, it's everywhere in the world, the only thing I would recommend to everyone in Britain is, OK - come and try it yourself so you can judge for yourself if you are a soldier, a fighter, or not. Everyone sees it differently, every superior is different, everyone has their own mood, everyone likes different food. I praise your channel, which we watch outside the UK :-) because we are generally interested in the army and have our own experience (but not with the British one) :-) :-) Good luck to you all!

I've wanted to enlist in the British army but I must say is the recruitment process takes too long, it takes 6 months to a year (I bet it wasn't always like that)! Being I have a dual citizenship I just enlisted in the US army which it took a little under 2 months to do so and I ship off to basic training on Halloween! Thanks for all your inspirational content. Perhaps I'll join the British army in the future, if another war happens hopefully they speed up the recruitment process!

Bleess clearly square pegs round holes as the armed forces cater to all who grasp what's available from education and career development . Whilst all agree the process needs streamlining it sorts the wheat from the chaff and provides fit for service and more importantly professionals fit for task trained to the task. Just look at the Gurkhas who serve so proud and an honor to serve along side with selections so rigid and of high standard.God bless Sam and thank you for taking the time

I'm still going through the reserve basic training process, and other than getting booked on the basic courses taking ages, the worst part of it so fsr has been the admin side of things. It takes an absolute age, sending stuff then waiting for response, to find out they need something else so you send it off, it takes ages to get stuff back etc etc...

Hey man. Glad you said it "Get paid 365 days a year." I once worked out that when I was a private in the upper pay level that I was getting paid like £2.30 an hour. Pessimism? Nah I was just curious about how much I got paid for sleeping time. It was about £6000 a year just for going to bed. Optimistic realist! Seems like some people just don't know what a salary is then take a salaried job then complain about pay.

Completely agree with the con of not being promoted if you aren't part of a clique. Both myself and my friend worked solid for 2 years on a communication network with multiple exercises chucked, boxing for regiment, cyber competition for regiment and also charity work but never got a recommendation. Whereas the group of people who all were yes men of the seniors who actually did no work but we're happy doing brew runs for the seniors we're recommend and promoted. Hello. Just so you know I’m in the U.S. Army and I just want you to know it’s ok to visit the United States well as long as it’s legal. Since I’m a U.S. government employee this is a valid professional response. You don’t have to worry about the U.S. military getting mad at you for the tyrannical British government of the 1700’s on the American 13 colonies. It happened a long time ago. No one is even alive now from back then so I welcome you my brother especially since now Great Britain and the USA governments are official allies.
