G'day MM, This is brilliant! I was cutting the tiny HUD for my 1/48 Hellcat off the spru but didn't hold it properly so when I cut it, the piece flew off and was 'swallowed' up by the carpet, never to be seen again. Now, thanks to you, I can complete the cockpit of my Hellcat properly. Thank you, again, for your great solutions to common and uncommon modelling problems. Cheers, BH
This was a very good tutorial, but more modern HUDs have a circular, gridded output lens, and two sloping, parallel glass reflectors to allow for more accurate aiming. Typically the angle would be a bit more acute too, with 45 degrees allowing the best look through.
Thanks mate, there are different HUDs I agree but the basic technique can be applied in any circumstance. That's the idea of this video, to show a basic technique that can be applied as anyone wishes
I have a tendersy of using DVD💿 disks. You need to break them down to access the other layers of the disks and just use the desired layers as you wish. I just go to your local shopping mart and buy a pack. And they last a long time.
Your patience really paid off.
Yah, this is a very cool effect

Interesting technique, only thing I think should be added would be to make sure you get all the air out from between the film and the clear sheet.
