From an oceanographic point of view, this episode was fascinating. Between the diatom bloom & the copepods, very interesting to see &, undoubtedly, this is why salt tanks are always 'cleaner' then fresh water aquariums.
Poor Jimmy thought his wallet was Empty before he buy the corals! 😂😂 Jimmy my tank is new also, my favourite corals so far are my Acan/Micromussa, my candy cane coral, my blastomussa and my zoanthids 🥰👊🍻 soon I would like to get a hammer and maybe a Duncan to get some movement. Mushrooms are also great to add and easy to keep with lots of colours and textures 👌
I definitely watch my clowns eat pods off my glass all day long. They definitely don’t affect the overall population, but they munch on them all day long.
Are you not supposed to do water changes during ugly phase. How come I never had it when I let the tank cycle on its own. I left lights off for a few months after completion and this time maybe 6 weeks and they are everywhere. Do I need to add pods or will it just go away naturally and do I feed the pods phyto or just let them die? I don t have a sump or fuge. Will my only fish (molly eat them all and will snails eat them. If they die wont the increase ammonia or what will ahppen then? What about adding different bacteria product and I know there is another beside anerobic and the one that sounds like that. i have mb7 and clean and a tiny bit of dr tims refresh.
Jimmy cracks me... that's pretty much where all us newbies are.
Mark has a short fuse lol makes this series all the more enjoyable. Thanks Jimmy and Mark!
I've been doing this since 1993 and it still never gets old. Enjoy your journey Jimmy!
