sounds fine to me. you should probably blame TH-cam since everything uploaded to their sites, as well as all the other streaming platforms, compress the hell out of everyone's content to match their (ever-changing) criteria. Last I checked, best way around this is to Master your tracks to -14LUFS, but apparently that's changed to -16now. Blame TH-cam (or maybe upgrade your speakerd)

How would the bass compare to something a lot bigger like a Partybox 110?
I know they are not really comparible to each other but i want to sell my partybox and buy this one.
It’s not as boomy, but it’s 100% cleaner as it’s from a premium audio brand, it’s not a “party” spesker. I have the Boombox 2 and it’s very boomy bass, the mania plays much lower and cleaner, thanks to properly powered woofers!

no pairing on this Mania model, because it is already a "stereo" product in itself. (and also because Devialet needs you to invest in their phantoms ... and true quality stereo is a good product range upgrade justification). :)
You can't set them up as a stereo pair (as dedicated left & right speaker) but you can pair them and use them simultaneously through AirPlay 2.

I want a bluetooth speaker that will sound for listining to jazz. I want to hear as if I am on a live jazz bar with the band playing, I use a Bose flex which is not bad, but what do you think would sound much better? (I will only use on my living room not outdoors) Thanks.
100% the Mania! I’ve had a few Bose Portables and they’re great little speakers but the Mania is a whole different league, it’ll add really warm fullness to your Jazz music!

That is not the phantom 2. It's next to it is the reactor. How do you not know that?
how does the mania compare to the phantom II as far as sound? I can't find a comparison anywhere.
Compared to phantom ii there are a few differences. The phantom ii is the same volume (95db) unless you go for the 98DB phantom ii… however the bass on the phantom ii plays a little lower, 18hz compared to 30hz on the Mania, and it does have a little more prominence as the woofers on the phantom ii are larger in surface area 😁
@@techpulseYT So more portable but less bass? is it like a lot less? I love the bass on the original, I dont really want to compromise. But on the odd occassion that I want to take it with me it would be nice. It would for sure be the exception though, is it a big compromise in sound quility / bass ?
@@vakuzar not a dramatic amount less!! The bass it just fuller because of the larger woofers, with more power. They physically move more air! The mania is certainly impressive

@@vakuzarthe difference definitely really comes to life at the higher volumes but even at mid levels you can hear the bass is more prominent!

You can play 2 at the same time via a multiroom setup, but you cannot pair 2 into a dedicated left and right channel stereo pair!

The bass is powerfull but the sound quality is a bit muffled, more like mp3 ,for that price they should offer better codec APTX HD or LDAC .
Nothing works better against woofer and two speakers 2.1 system.. talking about Logitech z623.
Maybe next time they can improve, upgrade the battery capacity (mAh) 😊
devialet is top by its sound but .... 3200 mAh battery charging 3! hours and you even dare to call it fast charge? 🤣😂 ... like I remember my old samsung phone with similar battery capacity being recharged in 1,5 hour top and that was only just the beginning of the fast charging era 5 years ago 😂

Wait what ive bee nwaiting for something like this for a while. So to clarify i have google assistant in the house with multiple speakers. Cant use google assistant...i can use a chromecast audio to sort that then, wait there is no analog 3.5mm input. Thats fine i can at least use chromecast and throw it over.. Wait what? no chromecast built in? seriously how pathetic. Now all new smart devices are all becoming cross platform and this doesnt even have google. Im out.

Devialet is a dishonest company! The bass somehow goes down to 30Hz but without db rating, this info means nothing! More importantly, all I see is ads (No reviews). Nice ad for devialet, now the company needs to man up and send this speaker to a couple of reputable audio reviewers.

Disposable item! built in unremovable fixed battery: means after 2 years it goes directly to trashcan! Another expensive usa-and-discard disposable item like a Bic razor, what a shame!
I have to agree here. I have a pair of Devialet Phantoms that I love, but at least the Sonos Move has an option to replace the battery!!
I have to retract my reply. Devialet confirmed the battery is replaceable, not by the end user, but the company will be able to replace the battery.
