  • I thought I should do an update on the my experience with these speakers and perhaps help you make a decision as to which one to buy.

I would love to see the comparison between the Devialet with the Brane X bluetooth speaker that just came out that is $200 less than the Devialet

My very simplified sound conclusion, Devialet is for those who want to be surprised during the first impressions. B&O is for those who enjoy listening for pleasure for longer periods of time and does not care for first impressions.

Good comparison and video, but the devialet weighs 2.3 kg and not 3.5kg! That’s s HUGE difference 😅 don’t know where you got the 3.5kg from 🤔

I have an ultimate ears hyperboom and it may be a little bit bigger then the bang & Olufsen Beloit and definitely heavier but I still consider that a "portable" speaker not just a "cordless" speaker. I mostly carry it around the house but I do also take it camping, out to partys wit friends at a park or beach, I have even taken it on bike rides with me. maybe everyone thinks of portable in they're own way.

I think when you have the Mania first as your music system for about 12 months and then listen for a week on the beolit20... you will want the beolit20 . The sound signature of B&O is why you love music again. Thats my subjective on it.
Great reviewer though and I would love a comparison of the B&O A5 vs Mania 👍

Has either got an App to change the setup or EQ? Bowers and Wilkins do some really nice sounding speakers and headphones, have you ever looked at those? The only Bang and Olsen item I have is an MP3 player which sounds pretty good but is years behind my Astell and Kern players, you’re probably right about B&O being a bit behind the times. But as you say, it’s all about personal preferences.

Yes they do have an App. I have B&W headphones and my sister has a full home music system from B&W. They are amazing. My car has a B&W system too.

There's a catch! air play 2 is not lossless unless it is transmitted to an air play 1 device

Been reading up on this and you are right. This is such BS tbh. Can’t believe they haven’t fixed it.

The technologies you’re looking for are available on newer B&O devices, the Beolit is a 10 yr old product.
I think you should have done due diligence and brought their newer products instead of the old one if you wanted these technologies.

You had the same experience as apple user that try Android.. :D
    . I was there before

This comment is very shallow considering sound is very subjective. Some prefer thunderous bass, others prefer smoother highs with restrained bass…..
      It’s not hard to comprehend.

@@millionaire9122 it's about blindly love one brand no matter what and realize, that competetion is far ahead. My brother was extreme apple fan for 12 years.. everything has to be from apple, even candles.. then he tried my gaming laptop , my android phone etc, ( he believed, that all windows laptops / android phones are laggy slow craps) and he was really shocked when he discovered, how far ahead the competetion is when he try it for the first time in his life.. " how is so fast ? Wow that screen is much much better than mine, wow wow wow....." :D .. it's about that.. when you blindly love one brand, you will never have the best products on market...

The grille on the beolit is aluminum, not plastic. It should be very robust.

Doesn't feel like a robust grille, it feels rather flimsy.

Speak for yourself... I can not believe that in this day and age, there is a speaker that has no AUX IN input to play lossless music through, also another tidbit i wanna point out, is that Apple airplay is not always lossless, i dont know how or why but its not always lossless. The devialet Mania doesnt have an AUX in the beolit 17 does, which is far more reliable then any other source of wireless connectivity.
I do not have a iphone, and i been dreaming of the day when they finally give us a software update or maybe introduce a Devialet Mania 2.0 where they reworked or changed somethings, like the ability to play the speaker while its plugged in to a wall socket without using the internal battery should the battery decide to die one day, which is a feature not a lot of speakers have, also obviously AUX in

The only problem with carrying the Devialet in its case is that people might mistake it for a women's purse and address you accordingly, "excuse me Madam....." :)
