- Just a quick look at the brand new portable speaker from Devialet the Mania
A Bluetooth wireless speaker that really packs a punch , with detail and accuracy that i was not prepared for . for a small form factor speaker with the drivers so close together i was shocked at how much separation there was between each instrument , if you like your portable speakers then you need to have a listen to one of these

I have a pair of black Phanthom 2s, and they literraly changed my life. I rush home from work just to play them. Tidal and Devialet is a match made in heaven, it's worth every dollar.
Visited Audio Lounge Leicester recently and listened to this little thing, astonishing sound and the guys there are superb. Well worth a look!

I’ve seen a few videos on this speaker and I would say this sound test is the best I’ve heard! I currently own a pair of MINIRIG speakers with separate woofer! I thought these were amazing and quite pricey until this came out! 😂 I’ve just popped it on my Xmas list!

Eagerly Waiting for your Comrehensive Sound Test of the Devialet Mania!!
I discovered this new portable product in my Devialet app when it updated yesterday. I own Phantom Gold since 2016.
This speaker is a great edition for that devialet sound you know and love , in the kitchen outdoors for bbqs or anywhere you want to place it around the house , I will be getting one for my wife at Christmas, she not into speakers but hey if she doesn't want it then I'll take it lol

Hi, if you compare Mania to reactor 600 or 900, what's the different? Big different in bass and high tone or no?
If you intend to use the Devialet Mania for streaming videos on a Windows device, be mindful that the sound will come out of speaker out of sync with the image in the video. Devialet is aware of this sound latency issue but does not intend on correcting it. The latency issue will not occur with IOS devices, only Windows and some cell phones.
What would you recommend to buy between a Mani and a Sonos Five.
I know this should be compared to a Sonos move but for loudness and sound quality what do you recommend?

Hello! Please tell me, have you compared Devialet with Dali Katch? I have listened to almost every wireless portable speaker on the market last year and now have 2 Dali Katch g2 as stereo pair. They are simply amazing in terms of vocals and mids, their detail and naturalness. They are very close in this to the big Dali bookshelves. To some extent, for me, this is a portable hi-fi. Can Devialet give more?

I do have a pair of Golds,a pair of the 98db. In your closing comments you did mention if these can be paired for stereo.I think that would be (WOW) Squared. But these already seem to have taken care of the spaciousness/sound Stage /stereo separation unlike its elder siblings
I see! That's also why you are so interested in the Mania. How has your experience been why the Phantoms? I'm guessing you bought them from the AVStore as they were the only ones who sell Devialet here in India. And does Devialet have any sort of service in India?
@@ashyouknow7420 Gold Phantoms pair I bought in 2017. Since then , they have been my regular use speakers( Home & Travel☺️). In 2019 I picked up the Reactors 98db(introduced as 900) . They have been sitting in my drawing room for “General” listening for the whole family(TV, OTT,AirPlay) . I have loved both the pairs for their immense power, clarity(20hz-20khz), and compactness. The sound signature is addictive. And I bought these from Trescent Lifestyles. This year the Devialet Arch is available in India. So bought that as well for connecting my Rega P1 turntable to the pair of phantom golds in my bedroom. I can tell you, that it was a revelation to listen to my pretty old (about 40yr) vinyl collection on the Phantoms. But I desperately wanted the same sound signature “ On the Go”. The moment I got the email from Devialet about “ Metamorphic” sound, I knew it had to be a “Battery powered” speaker. And so it was. Hence eagerly waiting to get my hands on this one . Actually two(me and my son) . If you are planning to buy these ( phantoms/reactors), buy them in a pair. That makes a huge difference for the sound stage . Cheers!!!
@@dheerajjadhav12 That great!! I can totally understand you, that sound from the the Phantoms is addicting! And yes I have seen people recommending the Phantoms as a Pair. I didn't know about the Arch so I had to look it up and seems like a great device to go along with the phantoms. I would love to have the Phantoms but as a college student I would rather not spend this much money on speakers. Though I am working on making a portable speaker with the sound similar to the Mania with better battery life as the Mania has a pretty average battery life due to the small battery compared to the power it can consume! But I have an important question:
I got mine yesterday, i love the sound basically, but if i listen to some tracks with an hard bass like some house or techno tracks and adjust bass/treble to plus 3 or higher and i go at 75% volume, than it sounds like the mania couldn’t handle that bass, it sounds like overdrive, like the membranes hit something or the air couldn’t get out from the inside… but that’s only with bass heavy songs, in other normal songs i could set it to +3 or so and go to 100% volume without this problem, so inreally don’t know if it’s normal because it’s simply to much bass for this thing if i put the eq to plus or if my mania is broken… 🤔
And it’s only on one side, not on the other which is strange too, but that could eventually be because it’s not exactly the same on the inside on both sides ?
The thing is, i think if the speaker would be broken, then it wouldn’t play without distortion if i put the eq on neutral and 100% volume because that’s allready bass heavy, or am i wrong ?
But at the same time i am a little bit disappointed because on a premium brand with the i think most expensive speaker in this class that shouldn’t be possible to acchieve an distortion in my opinion, even if i adjust the bass to +6!
Could you please try this song and put the bass to +6 and go about 70% so i know if i have to send it back or its normal ? The song was: „Kolter - washed away“ and i heard it on spotify via airplay
On What Volume did you play these tracks. That would give an idea of the power of the speaker.Thanks
If I remember correctly they were at about 60% volume
is it comparable in soundstage to open baffle speakers? How would you rate it in that dept? 70% of open baffles soundstage size? 90%?
It's a sealed box unit and it's a portable speaker not passive so it's never going to sound the same or really compare to an open baffle speaker , but I've only heard magnepan and diptyques so nor even close , I've heard it being called the best portable Bluetooth speaker in the world so take from that what you will , its certainly the best Bluetooth speaker I've heard at this form factor . It has great depth due to its 360 degree sound stage and up against a wall it is super wide sounding with the best detail that I've heard from a speaker of this size
ohh the only sad thing here is the recording, it was at the lower limit of some sort of anti noise filter that applies a low pass under a specific volume sorta thing
30hz is not very low is it especially for a devialet

Watching this with my 2x Gold. I've been considering getting rid of the golds as they're a bit overkill for my living room. I wonder if 2 of these will be a decent replacement? You will have a good opinion on that I hope! I don't want to regret going away from the gold though..
You’re joking, right? 2 of these wont replace your golds😂 110W RMS x2 vs. 1100W RMS x2. 10x less power.
@@davyhoogy Maby consider a Vifa Stockholm 2.0 as it alredy has better mids and treable than phantom while being more precise (also has push-push woofers), more suitable for living room and is much cheaper...
Your golds will out perform the minias, but if they are over kill in your living space these may suit you better and like you say you will get some money back in your pocket , and long as you are aware they will not have the same low frequency and that the golds have more power and will fill a room more and have alot more orthority behind them . Best thing to do is go and have a listen to one see if they will work in your living space . The manias are very good and i loved them but they are a portable speaker not a powered speaker . Hope this helped

No Bro. Don't ever think of letting go the ORIGINAL Phantom Golds. Even I do have a pair in my bedroom.And I couldn't replace then with the pair Reactor 98's , so I shifted the reactors to my Drawing room. Noway replace the Golds with the Mania(s) even if two of these do pair up.:)
They've realised that now it's time to create a cheaper product as people don't have as much money compared to few years ago and in the same time they've managed to get away from audiophiles by introducing Bluetooth connectivity for a lower quality of sound
Yes I think your right but the Bluetooth quality surprised me , it was super clean and detailed and the mids are are present unlike some well known speaker brands out there . Not just upping the bass and upping the treble for that v shaped sound we have gotten used too
