When the video started like 5 seconds in I was like yeah that's a South African accent. Watching from China you should also try the UB+DB1 less than half the price of the mania but the bass hits you .
I can reconmend the smallrig freewell s20 microphone ive got a video on my channel that used this microphone and its better than most other reviewers audio samples.
There is eq for treble and mid. If u know to master the equilizer correctly then speaker don't matters. But deviat wins on low notes because speaker was only on sides with not passive radiators to cancell each other with speaker cancelled but JBL had speaker with passive radiator. And implementation of speaker with passive radiator cancells some sound .
depends on how much you care about the experience, the musician intended the music to sound like. when the bass is too much compared to the rest, it can cause a loss of precision and depth as well as dynamics. if you would listen a car engine purely for bass, i would sound horrible too right.
For the money and sound for me the best small speaker is Minirig 3 which will smash jbl like a Thanksgiving turkey . You can pair them in true stereo and are easily almost as loud as the jbl party box but no bigger than a mug of tea.

There are 100s of reviews of minirig vs more expensive competition getting roasted by minirig for clarity power and build. Name one speaker of equal size with its own d class amp with true strereo ability to control all functions through the phone app and can be rigged to any amount of minirigs combined along with the world's most powerful sub at that size .
Listing to this on my skullcandy anc 2, it blew me away how much of these low bass tones i heard, plus these nice sharp and crispy highs. It sounds amazing for its size, but there is no way that is nicely affordable 😂😅
JBL is no match for devialet😆 JBL is the one you bring to the beach and blast it with all your friends partying and drinking, Devialet is the one where you and your friends are chilling at a studio listening to jazz🤣 (I own the JBL and honestly for the price there are better options)

Good video, thanks! ☺️ But I have an important question: I got mine yesterday, i love the sound basically, but if i listen to some tracks with an hard bass like some house or techno tracks and adjust bass/treble to plus 3 or higher and i go at 75% volume, than it sounds like the mania couldn’t handle that bass, it sounds like overdrive, like the membranes hit something or the air couldn’t get out from the inside… but that’s only with bass heavy songs, in other normal songs i could set it to +3 or so and go to 100% volume without this problem, so inreally don’t know if it’s normal because it’s simply to much bass for this thing if i put the eq to plus or if my mania is broken… 🤔 And it’s only on one side, not on the other which is strange too, but that could eventually be because it’s not exactly the same on the inside on both sides ? The thing is, i think if the speaker would be broken, then it wouldn’t play without distortion if i put the eq on neutral and 100% volume because that’s allready bass heavy, or am i wrong ? But at the same time i am a little bit disappointed because on a premium brand with the i think most expensive speaker in this class that shouldn’t be possible to acchieve an distortion in my opinion, even if i adjust the bass to +6! Could you please try this song and put the bass to +6 and go about 70% so i know if i have to send it back or its normal ? The song was: „Kolter - washed away“ and i heard it on spotify via airplay

Devialet Mania is a well-rounded, great sounding speaker.
JBL Boombox is okay. A bit harsher on the mids and highs but it still sounds okay.

It doesn't do it my side however it does lower the bass considerably! Please try sending it back and get a replacement unit!
