Florida needs to require boater education to operate all power craft on the water. It's unbelievable how many operators show utter incompetence and allow unsafe practices by passengers.
FL has a law that you have to pass a test and get a license to pilot watercraft. Even the jet skis. Doesn’t mean they are competent after passing the test though.
@@kevinandersen25 Kevin, yes it was a mistake, you see he was going in straight with the waves, the length of the wave was exactly as long as his Boston Whaler, when I was in the Coast Guard, I was taught to angle the boat therefore keeping the Bow dry. If I thought it calm enough to take a dog, I would still have it wear a PFD. Any dog could get dangerously exhausted swimming in a strong current and waves. They would likely ingest a liot of water too. Plus dog PFDs typically have a handle to grab them out of the water.
Dead in the water and getting pushed to shore, drop the anchor off of the bow. Also there was not enought anchor line to get a good set. If it had set with a stern anchor, those waves could have been braking over the transom and flooding / sinking the boat.
It is truly amazing to see how many expensive boats are owned and or operated by people who have no clue of: Rules of the Road, passenger or vessel safety, etiquette, or simple boat handling!! A course should be mandated before any boat is sold! A pontoon boat trying to go into the ocean... really?? This kind of boating, when confronted by a boat with good boating skills; makes it look like the boat with good skills has no clue because the majority of other boats are consistently and uniformly wrong which makes good boat handler look incompetent because they are the only one who is compliant with rules and regs.
5:17 that boat "captain" needs lessons from someone that knows what they are doing. A boat that size shouldn't be struggling like that in those waves. 26:30 Now that is an experienced captain that knows exactly what is going on and how to deal with the chop.
@@johnnys8822 we have a boat on the Mississippi in Minnesota. MN law- "All children under ten are required to wear an approved life jacket when the boat is underway"
In Florida: A child under the age of 6 must wear a USCG-approved Type I, II or III personal flotation device while onboard a vessel under 26 feet in length while the vessel is underway. "Underway" is defined as anytime except when the vessel is anchored, moored, made fast to the shore or aground. Now...going through one of Florida's East Coast inlets...I always put children in vests, no matter the age.
I've seen videos where women are holding on to babies that are mere months old. Absolutely insane given they don't make life jackets small enough for them, and wet babies are impossible to get hold of. Just a horrible situation waiting to happen!
Respect to the Cigarette pilot (the blue one) at 20:20, only he seems to care about speed limit (I am guessing there must be one) and the possibility of someone being in need of rescue. When I see these 5 or 6 outboards going full blast in and out, I understand for them it is the best way to stay above the waves but I am surprised no one was killed. At this speed facing the sun and the reverb on the water you would not be able to spot someone in the water and there seems to be a lot of people falling in the water especially off jetskis.
"EEZY DUZ IT" Yes not having the child smash her head into the hull is way more important than holding that Corona, but to be fair the kid did have a floatation top on.
I've watched a lot of these videos, can't believe how many pax are on some of them. Where do the boaters go outside the estury? Is there a popular beach?
4:45 you are correct about boat etiquette and showing some respect to the boat owner..as a former boat owner I was occasionally flabbergasted by what seemingly normal people turn into once they board your vessel.
22:14 When they are flying through the inlet like that, how do they really know that nobody is in the water? Like the guy here 16:56 who drifted pretty far from his sea-doo?
I've been around boats my whole life and common sense is common sense. Start with safety and go from there riding in the bow going through a rough inlet is having no sense. You see kids under 12 with no PFD on , boaters that are green or just reckless. Use your head and stop taking safety for granted
1:17 I'm just making a wild guess here, but I think it was intentional. It looked like he wanted to have a little fun and cool down a bit. ;) He does not even flinch, but keeps chewing his gum. LOL Classy.
The captain of that yacht deserves a huge fine for cruising right through the active diving area like that. He was going pretty fast too. The single boat flying the diver down flag probably wasn't enough visual warning for such a busy location.
She acting that way cause her phone is probably in that compartment maybe her license is too and doesn’t want that little compartment door to pop open. My guess.
The jet ski being towed upside down. The boat operator should have exercised proper towing operation rather than just "dragging" that jet ski in that manner. I felt for the lady as I'm sure her valuables were lost even damaged.
Boat owners should educate their guests, not the other way around. If people aboard aren’t told in advance the Captain rules it’s a little too late when the ship has sailed.
30:42 - Are there signs showing the height of the bridge so the idiots can tell that their boat won’t fit under it? Ya gotta wonder about these “Captains” not knowing the height of their mast, not to mention any bridge they are going under.
It fits so perfectly…. 🤨 I just finished watching „Idiocracy“ again and now am watching almost 40 minutes of people being dumb as hell… 😲 As I said in another comment a few weeks before: Let rain some brain 🫣🙄
The Double Trouble captain was an idiot. It is not relevant the warning light has fallen down. Besides, it was likely knocked down by the Double Trouble. The Virginia Sea captain overlooked it because no "ordinary person" would expect divers to be out around the bridge (or at least I wouldn't). They should have posted a harbor patrol boat, border patrol or police boat with lights. In my never to be humbled, 1A protected opinion.
Thing that gets under my skin is how over-loaded some of these boats are. Most likely don't have a place onboard to even hold that many pads. Where is USCG or other law giving tickets? They do in New England.
That girl on the jet ski (1:26) is having way too much fun 😂 - The girl getting her jet ski towed back (3:56) is having a meltdown because she just lost her boyfriends Fentanyl stash that was IN his jet ski! - Looks like the 'Cigarette' boat at (20:12) is having engine problems (overheating?).
The stupidity of 99% of these idiots just amazes me. It’s bad enough that those in the boats are not wearing PFDs, but the idiot with the three girls that dumped, NONE of them had PFDs on. I guess they all have a death wish. I cannot believe that it is not REQUIRED for people to wear the PFDs instead of having them in a storage bin. SMH!

yes lets tie the anchor to the blunt end

Even Legends can make mistakes. But that dude on the Boston Whaler knows what he's doing. Time and time again
He just read the water wrong that time. It can happen to anyone.
The Legend didn't make a mistake. He wanted that to happen. The only explanation.

Ever tow a jet ski by the handlebars.
Use the D ring under the hull.
Can't a PWC carry a collapsible paddle?

"Credit Card Captains" !!!!!
Nothing worse than having kids up forward, especially when there's no LIFE JACKETS on or even available. !!!!!
Why would you tow a jet ski like that ? 4:20
No brains.
Low IQ?
Why?? Why do they always pull a jet ski by the handle bars?? Is there not a tow eye on the front?

There isn’t a speed limit in the inlet but there is under the bridge. That captain just knows how to ride the wave.
At least that one captain wasn't too proud or too cheap to call for a tow relatively quick.
