This video showcases some of the worst hurricanes and storms that have hit or passed near Haulover Inlet. Have you ever experienced a hurricane while on a boat? Tell us your story!
WOW what a great video! Surfer dude was gnarly. This channel inspires me to want a boat but in AZ we don't have the ocean. Love your channel @BoatZone as its a great escape for me living in the desert.
Great video! And you camera guys have big balls of solid brass. Outstanding artistry. What? No drone up? I love the coasties going out just to sleigh ride back in. I had missed seeing the Legend for a few. All the best from Oklahoma.
Hurricane Ian was nasty, I live in Fort Myers . Our house is about 2 miles away from the eye of the Hurricane. It felt like forever, the eye of the storm came close to the shore and just stayed in the same spot for over 4 hours. It wasn't moving.
I hope I don’t smash my head on a rock? I hope I don’t break my leg between two rocks? I hope I don’t get stuck under a rock and drown? Wow these waves rock?
He's what we call in the UK, a TOTAL WANKER. Should be hauled before a court and given a couple of months in the clink to think about what could have happened. Not just to him, but to the people who would have to rescue idiots like him. And yes, mate, I hope he does see this reply!!!
Storms tend to bring larger waves to surf so generally the braver/dumber surfers try to go out and surf them. He might have thought that going through the inlet would be easier than paddling out through the waves from the beach
This comp does a really good job of showing an inland guy like me the effects these storms have on the seas even hundreds of miles away and days before and after. Thanks for this.
I have no connection to boating whatsoever but as a professional photographer I can’t get enough of the long telephoto lens , the compression and how steady the shot is to film these. What rig are we talking about?! 400mm? 600mm?
how many sunken boats and jetskis are there at Haulover? Honestly the stupidity of clueless, inexperienced people going out in normal conditions (let alone storm conditions) is mindboggling.
8:26 THANKS FOR THE FRICKEN STRESS!!! Goodness!!! I thought he was going to end up part of the rocks because he wasn't paying attention to the waves and timing his "escape" properly.😵💫 I was literally yelling at the screen to keep an eye on the waves!!!😨🫡🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@chipsrafferty8362reread how he said dum dum. He said “to all Floridians WHO tied your animals to a post” he addressed the guilty party not all Floridians
It was probably somewhere who was scared shitless because of the hurricane and was hoping that it would be a better chance for the poor animal to be tied up like it was with the hopes of someone finding it. I think there's better ways of dealing with the situation. But people deal with things differently and in an evacuation situation some people probably aren't thinking rationally. Whoever did it probably wishes they didn't. The good part is that dog will have it made for the rest of its life.
@@BoatZone It was me and a guy and his girlfriend, water was pretty rough and she got sick lol. Caught a really nice bull mahi that I still have the pic of. It was fun, even though seas were rough. Captain was a really cool guy.
It’s incredible that this fishing charter has stayed in business for so many years. I didn’t know it was one of the oldest in the area. Thanks for sharing!
the surfer got very lucky the ONLY floatation device he had was his board and when he gave the board to the people on pier he made a mistake, if a wave would have got him, now he wouldnt have his board and would have drowned, he should have not handed his board to his friends, the board comes last man, he risked his life giving away his board first
@14:30 Gotta hand it the local police. 4K lights but no protection from the elements. Coast Guard has just 2 lights and their boats can be overturned without an issue
With these regularly appearing heavy weather events, it might become expensive to get an insurance to cover for damages caused by storms. One could argue that sitting out the storm offshore will prevent the boat from taking damage. Like getting blown ashore/onto the dock etc. With a sailboat, a good drogue and good reefing and some balls of steel it could be the best choice. (This should not be taken as advice)
@8:07 That older dude on a surfboard, where the heck did he think he was going? Lucky to be alive and live to tell about it, because of those people, saving his old ass
You should come out to the oregon coast in december to February if you want to see stormy seas. Many of your stormy shots here are nice days on the Pacific. Im not exaggerating, 6'-12' seas are pretty standard and then during storms we can see 25'+ seas
all those out on the water and rescued should be highly find for being out in that chit. Don't these boaters know they are putting other lives in danger not just their own.
Anyone who's ever owned a boat has a spot at their dinner table for any Coastie. They rush into situations that most people are trying to escape from. OooooRahhh COASTIES
In my 3-4 maybe 5 years watching this channel I have NEVER SEEN THE LEGEND get owned by Haulover...Doesn't matter if large multi-million dollar vessels become submariners, burying the bow especially when incoming/back in from open water with following seas (waves flowing inland..chasing the boat)...it's so hard for smaller boats to time it just right where they can ride a wave without falling back down the backside of one allowing the following wave from the back doing a DIDDLER on you....slamming you from the stern/back...watch or pay attention...any time with that set up very few smaller vessels are able to negotiate the wave...With the OG aka THE LEGEND aka CAPTAIN KHAKI (usually wearing long Khaki pants)...He never stuffs the bow or is overtaken by the wave from the back...Curious if has any clue the people from all over the world knows who he is and eagerly await him on these vids especially beginning in late spring, early summer throughout the summer
after just watching the first 60 seconds what Bird Brain Individual(s) could find it Fun and Thrilling to going out Boating on Pre and Present Hurricane Storming moments?.....I have never even owned a Row Boat in all of my 65 years on earth and I would now better! SMH 7x7!!!

made my arsehole swampy watching this
Most of these clips are from other posts post boo
Give the surfer credit, regardless of how dumb the choice was, he didn’t panic.
These people are nuts going out in those conditions - and not one life jacket being worn, except for the jet skis and the Boston Whaler captain.
Captain on the Boston Whaler ....."Hold my beer" 😎

Another *fantastic* video! I love how you always call out "The Legend". Def a good boater and a cool dude. 😎🤙
🤙
@1:13 I started smelling the sea and the spray on my face, lol
6:22, Bodhi, still looking for that great wave to surf.
Finally got to see where you shoot from, bet it's a fun spot to work in!
Crazy that people are out in this weather! We had high seas warnings all week - why would you be out there? Crazy!
Probably the same reason people stand perched on tall masts with their phones recording to show everyone.
removing the board from the water before the surfer was kind of nuts
What the hell was that surfer dude thinking!?
I hope I don’t smash my head on a rock? I hope I don’t break my leg between two rocks? I hope I don’t get stuck under a rock and drown? Wow these waves rock?

That surfer was probably pretty close to getting a Darwin Award. WTH is wrong with people?
Buen video saludos
How many bad storms are there this year?
This year has been pretty stable, no major storms. But there have been quite a few storm surges with the hurricanes in the Gulf.
Brave people going out in that surf (13:09) considering that if that single engine failed they would be in big trouble.
Idiots at their best. Putting their lives at risk and also the lives of the rescue services . Why the heck would someone go out in those conditions.
18:15 Legend 👍

To all the Floridians who tied their animals to a post and ran I hope you come back to a leveled house. Everyone else i wish you the best.
It was one,not all and if ALL THE REST OF US FIND HIM it is over…..so chill yankee.
You act like we do that and it’s common. I’ve never heard of that bro, Floridians I know take care of eachother

What a fool,,, now his ass is in a ringer
16:55 A blue life jacket on 👍
And a pair of well Rounded 🤩Flotation Cushions 🤔
NO LIFEJAKETS
Why some "captains" even going out? Unless on some rescue mission.
bowriders, heading out when they know a tornado is coming? i guess common sense in America not so common anymore
What they’ll was marmaduke the onion thinking😮
I have heard rumors - From my goldfish! That the legend - Is the real Dexter Morgan😋

Surfer dude’s hair was dark before he dove in. Musta been the perfectly formed waves he found.
2 different hurricanes same video footage with coastguard leaving the cut, same white ford suv in the park behind the cut
